*_This USB power cord will power the nuvi 2589 and 2599 WITHOUT the need for a Garmin charger_* amzn.to/3K1wEhY (Amazon affiliated link) I have tested this personally and it does work.
I’m a fan of the DriveSmart series with their capacitive screen, voice command and up ahead feature. Like their specific up ahead feature where it tells you the name of the restaurant, bank, etc while traveling. Gives you an idea how rural the area is. For example if the restaurant is Cleets hot dog stand it’s likely one type of rural, versus say a Cracker Barrel. I’ve traveled in areas where it showed a Cracker Barrel and I would have assumed it was much more rural than to have a Cracker Barrel.
I actually brought my DriveSmart 55 into a rental car in Las Vegas and the rental clerk was shocked that I still use one of these navigators. I told her they are much more capable and don’t overheat easily compared to a phone. Almost sounded like a Garmin salesman to the clerk hahaha
Oddly enough, people these days are astounded at what a Garmin navigator does *_NOT_* do nor require. No cell phone service required (or any phone at all for that matter), no login required, favorites actually stay there and never randomly delete themselves, works anywhere, and so on. To have any car navigation where you just turn it on and go is considered "weird" these days by anybody who hasn't experienced it.

@@jp0213x They might. I hope they reintroduce a small square model with high concentration on legibility.
