- Here’s a quick cold start and inside sound video of my S14 with an HKS Hi-Power exhaust. I plan to make an exterior exhaust video eventually so stay posted for it!

Hearing that starter turn over, and the exhaust note that followed after 2-3 revs brought something outta me man. My Dad drove a 240sx for 19 some odd years, and I was old enough to remember the night he brought it home. Early 2000's were a trip, getting picked up from school in that car, then later that night going to the movie rental place, and then drifting the entire way back. It's a special kind feeling when you can look at a picture of the car, and you can just hear it turning over, sitting there idling afterwards. Only two times in my life I've ever seen my Dad dry was when his brother passed, and then when he was finally forced to sell his 240. So many wild memories, and an equal amount of broken engine parts, because damn did he drive it like he stole it. Yours sounds exactly like what used to wake up the neighborhood at five in the morning for so many years. Big of a Toyota guy as I am, the 240's got a special place in my heart.

Wow thoroughly enjoyed the TED talk! We really feel the nostalgia and just feels coming from a trip down memory lane there. Honestly, not the best for their exhaust now, but very prominent and also fairly turkey mortar for the side being a 2.4 ha ha plus the HKS. Definitely missed this car sometimes, even with the RB swap, although if I were to do it again, I will probably have just kept KA and went turbo. I’ll become a Toyota guy myself, but absolutely agree with you with the 240 having a special place!

How is this exhaust around town? I need to replace the loud ass ebay special cat-back my s14 came with. Yours still seems pretty loud, do cops give you trouble?
Wannabe180sx It’s honestly not too bad man, not as droney as you’d expect. I have aftermarket headers and a high flow cat as well. Haven’t had issues with cops yet but I usually short shift whenever I’m in town, just gotta be smart lol.
Ok, header and test pipe here too. It is for my track car which has to be street registered by default. My city wont allow a non op car in my driveway, so I figure i'll drive it since i'm paying for it. It seems like the hi power is a great exhaust with a pretty low price compared to others on the market.
Wannabe180sx yeah man drive that thing! I’ma say go for the HKS, sounds great on the KA and not terribly loud unless stomped on. Idk how low you are but I haven’t scraped it yet wither since it’s angled, love the look.
This exhaust is so nice. Heard one today when I went to go look at a 240. Think I'm gonna go outta state and get one with the same exhaust lol. Dick head sold it under me to the guy who got there after me, when I was on the phone with my parents about buying it. Found a less shot box one for a bit more too. Dodged a bullet for sure. Hope this one is gonna be worth the 6 hour drive tho. Can't find any good ones one the west coast that aren't clapped out and ridiculously over priced. People really want 6k for a car with no interior and half running out in Cali.
Connor couldn’t agree more! Very minimal drone too, absolutely love it. I definitely need to post an update sound video of the exhaust as the car now has an RB20 that sounds even more glorious, yet surprisingly quiet still haha. Sucks a ton that that the dude did that! But I agree, definitely dodged a bullet. These things are definitely over priced at times but you’ll find the right one! West coast I feel like is definitely tough on pricing especially with these things. Heck East Coast is even up there, can’t imagine Cali prices lol.

@@dapetdetective Haha yeah I love s13 coupes and as i never drove or owned a RHD car I didn't want to take the gamble.
Plus I have a LHD fetish so to speak haha.

@@dapetdetective I say that. I been living in VA since I was 16, I bought a house in NC last December. Finally could afford to move, get some land and my big ass garage.

What's this exhaust like when you're cruising at 70-80 on the highway? My 180SX came from Japan with some weird no-name-brand JDM catback exhaust, which at motorway speeds is too loud and droney, and I was thinking about getting a Silent Hi-Power to replace it.
Scrubworks it honestly wasn’t to bad at all! Usually didn’t have much drone besides some interior vibration. The car now has an RB20 and it ‘s oddly so quiet, I sometimes forget it has an exhaust lol. So when it still had the KA, I had a header back but did have a high-flow cat and I’m positive if helped the drone alot cause tons of KA cars at events are brutally loud straight piped. Pretty cool you’ve got a legit 180SX!! You’ll love the Hi-Flow!
@@dapetdetective That's really cool to hear. Yeah it's a proper 180SX with an SR, non-turbo unfortunately, but hey ho. For some reason you just can't get hold of a regular Hi-Power here in the UK, only the Silent Hi-Power, so that's probably what I'll get.
Scrubworks Still a raaad car man! I haven’t ridden in an SR car with the HKS but I’m sure it sounds just as good, if not better cause a lot of KA’s end up sounding raspy but mine had a nicer deeper tone to it. I think you’ll like it!
@@dapetdetective The SR is pretty loud as 4-cylinders go anyway :P. I'll definitely pop up a video of it when it's fitted. Oh another question, it's a 3 inch diameter on the main exhaust pipe right? I'm buying a sports cat to go with it and it needs to match up.
Scrubworks haha it’ll sound pretty good! Love SR’s, I’m hoping to one day save up for an imported Pulsar GTI-R to daily. And yeah man 3 inch all the way till the exhaust tip! Just make sure it’s compatibles for whatever header you’re running.

Is this exhaust a catback or full length?
Sorry for the late reply! It’s was running a full header-back setup but HKS portion was only the cat-back haha. Sounded awesome for a truck motor.
Did this exhaust burn your rear bumper?
Nope! It’s just suuuper dirty haha. Also the bumper paint is in rough shape so no longer really cleans well 😂.
Is it 3 inch the catback?
aldosuhh x yep! 3 inch from cat back for sure, not 100% sure on the headers.

Can you use this exhaust with no cats?
Yes! You just need a straight pipe in place of the cat. I’m just running a hi-flow cat myself just to free up some flow without failing inspections and emissions tests.
