I bought a used first gen. Audi Q7 2008. A Q7 with 500 000 km which is equipped with one of the best and most reasonable engine it was available with - 3.0 TDI V6 (CASA engine code). In this video you will see the condition of the suspension of this car. This car is equipped with adaptive air suspension and with the quattro permanent 4 wheel drive system.

This show that dpf can last 500.000km in contrast that some chiptuners told me that dpf dont last more then 250-300.000km. In my car it has 360.000km and dpf is original one.
Also, unlike the catalytic converters, DPFs are actually very cheap to manufacture. But they still charge you two arms and seven legs for it...
yes and to prolong the lifetime of the dpf you need to:
-have the injectors in good condition
-use correct and good quality engine oil with regular changes
-use the car mainly on long distances = let the dpf to burn off properly
-using good quality fuel is gonna help too
-and have all the o2, pressure & temp related sensors on the exhaust in working condition
