    Watch this Bulgaria travel vlog to see Wayne the American trying Bulgarian food! (April the American tries the food too, haha.) We are not sure what to think of some of this Bulgarian cuisine, but we are happy to try traditional Bulgarian food and overall we enjoyed our taste of Bulgaria at this Veliko Tarnovo restaurant, MEXAHA. Bulgarian food has some flavors all their own, and we hope to be able to take part in some Bulgaria travel again to try more food of Bulgaria! We hope you get a few chuckles while viewing our Bulgarian taste test...do let us know how you imagine you would like (or not like) one thing we try--food or drink?! 🤔😃

    the thing you called bacon is actually just fat, sometimes with skin, some people eat it just like that (it's been cured), some smoke it or you can grill it, which I think would be more to your liking

    We do not use cream in Bulgaria. This is unheard of in Bulgarian cuisine. I am sure there was no cream in your soup. You tried a lot of winter food like the sauerkraut with slanina, lard! Good that you are drinking rakia! Palinka is the Romanian rakia and is made exactly in the same way. the difference is the fruit they used, the level of distillation. every country and family have their own styles!

Surprisingly I love the look of the weird bacon dish at 4:11. Definitely unique! and I love bacon. and I find the rawer the better with meat lol. Just a friendly put-in from me. This isn't really bacon but rather just fat. It's called ''slanina''. And of course it is cured and smoked. Hello April and Wayne,
    I hope you had a good time I the Tichiat Kat, the Quiet Corner and enjoy some local Rakia and food.
    The Turschia called vegetables, you tried the most popular cabbage, which was served in the cold winter months in the mountain areas with the lard, gave a lot of energy for the traditional hard work.
    Did you try the Graina Rakai too, usally the Rakia served hot with some honey ? And what kind of pork soup do you had, this is unusual to find in restaurants and normally they served tripe soup with milk and sour garlic.
    The bread is a bit a miss, a lot of restaurant's in Bulgaria use these deep frozen greek pitta, If they don't have the place and time to preserve Sesam bread or Parlenka called Bulgarian plain bread.
    But nice to see the town with some snowflakes and the nice restaurant.

    45 dollars for airbnb?
    😂😂😂
    Omg. That's half the monthly rent for the average Bulgarian.
    You guys are so gullible thinking you're traveling cheap.

      @GoTravelOnTheCheap  2 роки тому

      If we may ask, how much do you typically pay to stay in a hotel whilst traveling through Bulgaria? 😇
      This was a very good deal for us Americans for a very nice Airbnb right in the city, which is what we needed since we were so sick and had laundry to do...
      Travel accommodations are usually more than yearly rental costs...
