The Sofia Christmas Market looked amazing! So much amazing food in this episode - I am definitely hungry now - the Shopska salad, wine and cheese, and the pastries - sign me up!
Bulgaria has some amazing food.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon yes looks like it. I'm looking forward to the tour video next.
I love Shopska salad, when I was over there it was my daily order :D
I'd make it everyday in the US if I could.
Buddy, you really enjoyed in Sofia.
Come back again. ❤
Indeed I did and indeed I will.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon hi Bulgarian here I would recommend going in the city koprivshticza(Копривщица) it's a beautiful picture-escue town that has a lot of historical significance and traditional architecture
@AdventuresOfATrnavelingDon bulgarian food used to be much much better
I agree with you! Some food items you can find similarities and pretty authentic back in the States. But there is nothing like eating that food in the country it’s from. The soil, the ingredients and the tradition is there! And a great reminder to always count change whether while traveling or at home!
Travel tips 101
Absolutely agreed 😊 I am bulgarian by the way 😅 Same about italian food- when you consume it in italy it is something else!!!
@@wadewade27 oh nothing beats Italian food in the little back alley trattorias in Italy. Sooo good.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon Another level! 100% like you mentioned, there is something about everything around you...deliciouse
Shopska looks like somebody house inside!! Especially with the couches for dinner chairs haha i love amazing salads!!
The decor was definitely unique for a restaurant
The shopska salad looks nice. These European village type feel of these streets and restaurants are very cool. The Christmas market looks lively and lots of different foods to try. Nice one.
The Shopska Salad was delicious
A few years ago I was in Sofia, but for a short time, so I didn't manage to try their specialties. Sofai is a great place to explore. Not far from Sofia is the Rila mountain, which is the highest on the Balkan Peninsula. Great presentation! Keep up the good work
I plan on getting out of the city on my next visit.
Bulgarian food looks really good, and both local places to eat and global chains like McDonald's are there which shows how diverse the food scene is. Your video about Sofia is great! It shows off the food and interesting parts of the city well. I give it two thumbs up for being so enjoyable and informative!
Glad you enjoyed it
Welcome back again in summer time, and start eating with Tarator, Drob sarma "a dish made of lamb offals and rice" Shopska or Ovcharska salata. 😃 So called home made Rakia and Wine most of time are better than the factory one. Eating in different restaurants or cities it is very important that each region has a different way of preparation and a different taste of products. If you find pure Bulgarian food products the taste is many times better than that of imported food products "most of time"
Oh next time I'm in Bulgaria I'm going outside the city. I want to explore the central mountains and the east coast
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon enjoy your stay I recommend Plovdiv and Veliko Tarnovo city and Seven Rila Lakes in Rila Mountains. For sea beaches they are all good now it's up to you which ones you like just research before going, we have all kinds. You can spend good time in city Varna, the city have big Sea Garden, but the beaches are nicer around the small towns, far from sea ports.
Yummmm. As usual, your food tour makes me hungry. I like the Christmas Market as well, so pretty.
It was small from what I've been to, but, it was still well put together.
Yummm! Food tour is always my favorite and your specialty😀You show some really delicious food with style which makes it more tempting and mouth watering. Thanks for giving us the lovely food tour.
Thank you 😋
I loved this wine and cheese oooo my favourite things haha. Sofia looks cold.
The size of those pastries wow
Gogo loves rakija I'm not a fan.
All the places you ate looked beautiful too.
The wine and cheese I thought was excellent value
My dude Gogo. We gotta have a Rakija night someday.
Sofia can be pretty cold in the winter but it's very hot in the summer. Those huge trees everywhere, gardens in each corner and the massive parks are there for that particular reason 😉.
The wine tasting looks amazing. I have never had Bulgarian wine before. How fun!
It's good. I had more than my fair share of Bulgarian wine that week 😂
Wow, what a delightful journey through Sofia's culinary wonders and absolutely mouthwatering! Thanks for sharing your delicious adventure with us. Can't wait to see more from your travels! 😊
I appreciate that.
Nice video, looks chilly and cold. stay bundled up.
It was cold the first few days. Christmas though was like 60. It was weird.
Tomatoes were not even in season when you visited. Come back in late summer and the shopska will blow your mind.
Will do.
WoW! Truly Sumptuous And Lovely Foodie Adventure! Bon Appétit!🥂❤️✨
Yes it was!
Surely, there are things to discover in this country. There's nothing better to do than to try this delicious food on a rainy day. The dishes look really delicious.
When it rains I eat
"Oh yeah!" :D
You can actually get mekitza in the USA. Most traditional Native American restaurants in Texas and New Mexico would have them.
Turns out all poor people with limited resources fry simple dough at some point of their history.
Mind they serve it with beans.
Also turns out its a breakfast staple in Mongolia.
Hey I'd take a Mekitza with beans any day. I will remember that when I get back to Texas.
Looks like a great place to eat. The wine looks very interesting. Ellen wants to know if you ever ate at McDonald's 😂
I did, they have a sandwich there called a Roshti Burger. I think I spelt that right. Anyway it's a Bacon cheeseburger with a hash brown in it.
@@AdventuresOfATravelingDon that sounds really good!
what a dreadful day you had in Sofia! If you like bread and cheese you need to visit (the Republic of) Georgia! oooh and I remember Shopska Salad!
Oh Georgia is on my mind
Good video for my country❤,but cheese in "banitza "is different tipe from cheese for wine
Ah that was the name
