Super happy that I was able to inspire you Marian. See, that's worth more than being self-conscious about myself. Giving value is where it's at 💜

Taa Dixon Salma is amazing. I’ve been lurking for a while, then pop my head up once in a while. She has always taken the time to address comments & questions. It makes her helpful tips all the more personal. I’ve also discovered other cool coaches thanks to Salma!

I like the mention of how the value that you offer overcomes your fear of having to be perfect on camera.

Right? If you can get past your ego and yourself, then video is really just a cool channel to help others :)

Nowadays presenters are using Powerpoint slides with bullet points as their teleprompter software to help them keep the conversation on target and maintaining eye contact, and speak confidently with natural speech because they don't read word-for-word.

How you see yourself on camera being unfamiliar is true! It is the same as when you hear your own voice recorded. You say, That's my voice? because you don't know how your own voice sounds recorded.

Great advice, Salma! I have a tip about #1: Get a picture of family, friend, model in a catalogue - and stick it directly behind the viewfinder! Talk to "that" person! :)

Great tip Ilona! I have seen people using that and it really does help!

    Thanks for the video, Salma
Also interesting, to present your videos using your existing Powerpoint slides as a your teleprompter software instead of scripts, to help you act natural and speak confidently with your natural speech on camera because you always have the whole concept in mind & you don' read word-for word.

This was so informative, Salma, and thank you! I REALLY needed the talk on perfectionism. I'm new to this, so working feverishly to get the takes "just right" made for - just like you said - a miserable experience for weeks on end. The one I'm shooting today will be the first one I'm actually gonna post, and you've put me in a great mindset for that. Thanks again!

sad how we've all internalized the privileging of the white male voice- even here, it is a wm to be profiled first, and then later at 14:40 we hear the wm be the voice of authority, (and also the citing of the book by wm).... I'm here on your channel b/c I'm so frustrated with wm dominating this - and almost every - field, and don't want to give more energy to them, so I consciously choose women (and non-binary) people of all forms of diversity, to give my time and energy to.
