My son joined a rowing club this past fall, and my mom gave me my stepdad's Concept 2 a few weeks ago. I've really enjoyed your channel and all the positive coaching. Thank you for bringing some good into the world.
Wow. Consistency really is key. On that last minute, I can't believe I could reach 34rpm and held it for the full minute. What a rush. I honestly wouldn't be able to get through this without your pep talks. Super motivating!!!
Been doing this drill for almost 14 days in a row now. Enjoying this training a lot. No matter how tired I am about kids/work/whatever…. This is great; gives me a lot of energy. Thanks Shane💪
Here for my own health and as an example to my kids. Grew up the heavy kid until I learned better nutrition in my mid-20s (everything you've been taught is from the 60s and 70s and is to benefit corn and wheat growers, finally new studies are showing we've been teaching nutrition wrong for 50 years). Peak weight of 250lbs, now at 175lbs. Powerlifting 4 days per week, rowing 3 days per week (occasionally swapping in biking). Love your channel, Shane. Got my rower about a year ago. Learned watching your videos and now rowing 3 days a week and loving it!
I’m here for sweat, pain, and mental clarity! Loving Rowvember! Thank you Shane! First interval was a Hot Mess, 😂 after that, within 3m and 1 SPM. But now I know the correct target! Found closing my eyes for 10 seconds on and off, and channeling that inner rowing Jedi, versus staring at the PM5, worked much better. That last interval was magic!
❤❤❤ first workout in a year of rowing with you that I had my doubts… absolutely love your channel and messages that help us all live up to our potential!
Just found this workout a year later! Thank you so much for the pep talks. Been loving discovering what I can do on my concept, and following you on many of your other videos. You are my guru and King of the Rower. I'm calling myself a Dark Rower too - as well as being a Fair Tigress.😅
Can we make every month Rowvember? It’s sometimes a struggle to find the time each day…but…each day I feel stronger. Just loving it. Re consistency…well, I was completely consistent with your stroke rate, whatever it was!! :)
I'm amazed at how consistent I actually was during this workout. Within 11M every rep. My split actually got better throughout. So maybe not what my instructor wanted per se but keeping a steady decrease on my split throughout a workout is really something I've been trying to achieve. So I consider that a success! Thanks as always Shane.
I thought I was going to stop around 20:00 into the workout because I haven’t yet done any workouts longer than that. I pushed myself to keep going and am really glad I did. I feel great! Thanks, Shane!
Thank you Shane!! Excellent workout! I didn’t program my monitor when I started following along so frankly, I’m not sure if I was on point but I kept a constant of 2:06/500m and really felt stronger the second half! I finished at a 33s/m on the last 1min great workout! Lookin forward to my wine later hehe
3/8/2023 Thank you Coach Farmer "Life Lessons" ~ Why? Goals: To eventually row on water in my own 2-person craft so I can bring along my husband, or our grown kids or especially our grandkids! Grateful.
Whooooo! That felt great! I almost quit around set 8 but you pushed me to keep with it and I made it the whole way. Thank you! I never would have been able to do it on my own.
Great workout today glad to see that you can work out with your garage door open we’re north of you 20s in the morning 40s in the daytime Great way to warm up
Quarter in I didn't think I was going to make it even to the halfway mark, but I stuck to it, FOCUSED, and miraculously actually made it to the end....Dark Horse moment 👍
New to rowing and your video have been very helpful! Have you considered the podcast format? I would love an audio only option? Seems like a white space as I don’t see any row coaching podcasts and it would be great to be able to listen to your coaching while rowing when I can’t see my phone or tablet, or with it on the ErgData display.
Rowvember week 4 !! I'm neither on facebook nor on instagram, so I can only report back on mondays, when You issue a new video :-) Week 3 was another great week. Yesterday ("simple is easy pt.2") brought me a "Forrest Gump" experience: During the first 26SPM section I thouht "holy moly, six minutes, really", then I found my rhythm and everything was fine until I came to the first rest period where I realized that I had entered just one minute instead of threee :-O. So the whole thing became a little more challenging. After the second interval I wanted to continue a bit more for a cool down. That was, when Forrest kicked in "... And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow county. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama..." and before I even realized it, I had done four sections, when I was called to dinner :-) Now week 4. "Everything is equal" turned out to be much more on spoth than I expected. Like @Larison Johnson all, except the first two within 3m and 1SPM, including the first two, all within 10m. Looking forward to the next days! Love Rowvember - stay well and stay safe! Frank
Certainly won't hurt. The rower could replace both of those machines, then you can focus your off days on something more targeted like chest or shoulder workouts.
The machine will definitely help improve your level of fitness. As a side effect, your body will adapt, including burning that belly fat if required. For me, it works better than any other indoor exercise option. But everyone is different. For me, the key is keeping it interesting and measurable. You really learn a lot about yourself during a 60 or 120 minute row! But a 30 minute HIIT like this, is just magic!
Easier to track each interval for consistent rate/meters by programming it. Intervals time - 1minute with 1 minute rest. Pause his video near the end of the warmup to program it in, then hit play again and start with his countdown.

This workout helps big time, thankyou Darkhorse
1/27/2023 This workout, it's "still gravy!" I am still here trying to answer all the reasons "Why"... "so that..." Thanks Coach Shane 👏🏼
This one has become my new, "go-to" favorite! It's over mentally fast. Try counting your strokes with your eyes closed instead of watching.
Whooooo! That felt great! I almost quit around set 8 but you pushed me to keep with it and I made it the whole way. Thank you! I never would have been able to do it on my own.
Nice!!!!!!🎉🎉 O could be consistent. Thank you!!! I love your motivational speeches.
Loved it. I'm here for the focus.
Bit late finishing rowvember. Hit some rough patches. Thanks for the pep talks and life lessons. 🏖

Wow so good. And I held a 40 on last one. I adored this one
Great rowling and great motivation speak👌🏻
Quarter in I didn't think I was going to make it even to the halfway mark, but I stuck to it, FOCUSED, and miraculously actually made it to the end....Dark Horse moment 👍
Great workout! I had a great time with it! I hope you are doing well brother 🙏 God bless

Hey Shane, where did you get your water bottle holder? Rowvember rocks!
Great workout!
12/20/2022 This was outstanding but almost made me cry -- having to dig for the "why"... I have so far to go and don't wanna fail....😢
I love this row......er...I mean after I'm done!
Yay! I got some legs :) and a phenomenal workout, thank you!!
Why is only my butt that hurts AF? Should it be my legs??

This was awesome. Average a 1:46.4 gotta be more consistent next time!! Thanks Shane!

Where is the link for the rowvember workouts??? I can't find it on here
Where can someone get that water bottle holder you show in this video that is connected to you Concept 2 rower?
2/27/2023 Good to be "back in the saddle" ☺️
Where can I find the water bottle holder on your machine?
8/15/2023 "Consistency" oh boy, has mine ever been crummy this summer. 😞 But starting over again today.

THANK YOU! I hated this one!
So that I can remind myself that I put my health first :-)
Do you think this will help chest fat thinking about buying row machine have tread mil and recubence bike thanks for help

In my whispering hippie voice ...but what does it really mean lol ....but for real cool workout dude I'll try it tomorrow!.
Did you programme the computer or just row?
