I would have tried for more, but my husband was sensible (?!). They are both strong and healthy and very intelligent aged now 29 and 27.
But you don't know that those women are menopausal or have "no eggs". I'm over 52 and not even perimenopausal. One of my sisters was in menopause and had a natural pregnancy and healthy baby at age 48. We are all aging differently and some people still do have eggs past 50 (which is not to say that people aren't using donor eggs). Anyway, current science is pointing towards the fact the the ovaries do indeed contain egg stem cells which can produce new eggs. The paradigm is shifting.

I think that it is dangerous for doctors to make one size fits all conclusions. Every person is different. I just watched a video of a woman in Africa that birthed 44 babies. She is 38 years old. Each pregnancy she carried a litter of babies - quintuplets, quadruplets, twins, etc. The doctors tried to tie her tubes but she still got pregnant. So, I say all that to say - ladies, trust yourself. If your spirit tells you that there is a baby for you to birth, believe it! Don't let any doctor steal your dream.
Come on now. There is no absolute way to know if a woman has no eggs left. This is why women like my aunt who was in menopause for two yrs, ended up preg at 55. The egg calculation is only a guess.
Got my first at 42 with no assisted medical help. Got another at 45 with taking all those pills you mentioned n prayer to God and right now am 47 will conceived again. I was suggested donor eggs and had not even a dime but God showed up.

I went to a fertility center I tried on my own When I was 49 and then I decided to go with the donor and they took my money 24,000 to be exact because anybody over 45 cannot use their insurance… But they never told me throughout the year I was going there that my uterine lining never reached 7 mm and then gave me the egg transfer a 5.8 mm and I had a chemical pregnancy, chances are it was definitely the thickness of my uterine lining… They don’t tell you everything they should’ve told me I wasn’t a good candidate instead of taking my money… It’s not so easy getting pregnant with a donor egg, chances are greater but there are still other obstacles they don’t tell you in the beginning.

I know someone who prayed to conceive (they had fertility issues) and had 2 kids at 35 and 40 respectively but God also has given people rationale and forethought. If most women have fertility problems at a certain age, it would make sense to research ivf, egg freezing etc. as God has given humans the brains to devise these procedures... I know it's not for everyone and having excess embryos sitting in storage (which can be a by product of ivf), unused or even destroyed, goes against my personal ethics but certain procedures might be worth considering...
Is there an age when you'd discourage a healthy woman or couple from getting pregnant? My husband has never had a biological child and we met when it was apparently too late for us to conceive naturally as we have never used birth control and I conceived 4 times easily as a younger woman. I am now in menopause and on estrogen. I'm in excellent physical shape and people are always stunned when they discover that I am 53. My family all lives well into old age (even up to 100 in a couple cases), no diseases or health problems. My pregnancies were healthy and I gave birth naturally. My reproductive organs are all in tact, and I have no personal or family history of miscarriages, stillbirths, or birth defects. My sons would say my biggest issue has been passing down my height deficiency ( I'm short), but since I'd be using a donor egg anyway this baby wouldn't have to worry about that! Also, if you wanted them to have a sibling could you have twins?
Age is just a number. At the same time, there are risks in pregnancy as we get older no matter how fit you are. The biggest risk is pre-eclampsia. I think we have really good strategies to prevent it like aspirin in pregnancy. I personally don't think you're too old at 53 to have a baby. I have plenty of patients in their early 50s just like you who feel ready to have a baby and feel the energy of a 20 year old! And we don't usually transfer 2 for many reasons because of all the risks involved.
Ok I was 41 and had my first child very healthy. Younger girls I met in their 20s had preeclampsia and premature babies so why speaking like it's only older women that have those problems. I have also met women are 55 who did not use donor eggs or whatever you call it. Nothing supersedes the power of God. So stop talking nonsense

I have been post menopausal for probably 10 years on HRT, and I believe I have ovulated at least twice since being post menopausal-once being a couple of weeks ago. Yes! I believe in the fertility of every patient I meet. I don’t think of a patient as a number, an fsh level, an amh level of an age. I look at their fertility indicators then give them their fertility facts so they go into treatment knowing everything. And of course I have 42 year old patients too that are moms from their own eggs. But 10 percent will be successful. The 90 percent need to know the real deal before treatment so they don’t feel misled or misguided.

I haven't had a period in about 2 years. I recently started bioidentical hormones and my cycle returned and I started having ovary pains like I used to. Yes! You won't know until you get your levels checked. Egg freezing is for women in their 30s and 40s. As long as you have eggs and you're under the age of 45, there's a chance an egg can be a healthy one. It's just harder to find a good egg over the age of 37. But not impossible. It's worth doing if your hormone levels are good.
My now 6 year old son was born when I was 45. Natural conception and completely surprising pregnancy. My hubby and I already had 3 kids who were already in their teens and preteens at the time. Thankfully, he was born very healthy and still remains bright and healthy. God is so good! I'm so grateful, I would advise women not to wait too long to attempt to have a child. The risks for abnormalities go up with maternal age, so plan accordingly.

You have a very low chance at 41 with an AMH of 0.3. I would do the following: 1. treat your diabetes 2. Ask your doctor about surgery for your complex cyst 3. Talk to your doctor about creative family building options if your own eggs isn't an option anymore. Egg donation and embryo donation and adoption are great options!

Rameen Zafar I’m sorry you’re going through this. At the age of 24 it could be from: a genetic or autoimmune issue. Make sure your doctor has done these tests for you and see if you can find a doc to help you with ivf if possible.
If you’re freezing your eggs, just make sure your uterus is empty and healthy! Don’t get uterus fibroids! It will ruin all your chances of getting pregnant! Love 💕

Some women get them and no one knows why other than it’s genetics but it doesn’t mean you will have them. So if you think about freezing your eggs. Please do so. You will not regret it!!!

Hello Dr. Aimee! I am 34 years old and going through pre menopause. According to my blood work my doctor told me I have either no eggs or no healthy eggs and put me on prempro. I even made an appointment with a fertility doctor who didn’t run any test but said my only option was to implant a donor egg. This is just not something I want to do. I’m currently trying to find ways to possibly get pregnant. I understand that once your eggs are gone they are gone but I don’t know, maybe I still have some healthy eggs. Me and my husband have been trying for almost three years now. I have given birth to 3 children and he has 3 also. We both adopted each other’s children and now are a blended family with 6 children, we both just want to have the experience of having a child together. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Run those test from 3 other different clinics to see if the results are coming same and do the average of those results , also AMH can vary time to time, so run it in few months apart. And don’t give up, if it still less then try mini IVF to see yourself what exactly happens after stimulation. Just don’t give up and keep fighting.

But you don't know that those women are menopausal or have "no eggs". I'm over 52 and not even perimenopausal. One of my sisters was in menopause and had a natural pregnancy and healthy baby at age 48. We are all aging differently and some people still do have eggs past 50 (which is not to say that people aren't using donor eggs). Anyway, current science is pointing towards the fact the the ovaries do indeed contain egg stem cells which can produce new eggs. The paradigm is shifting.

I think that it is dangerous for doctors to make one size fits all conclusions. Every person is different. I just watched a video of a woman in Africa that birthed 44 babies. She is 38 years old. Each pregnancy she carried a litter of babies - quintuplets, quadruplets, twins, etc. The doctors tried to tie her tubes but she still got pregnant. So, I say all that to say - ladies, trust yourself. If your spirit tells you that there is a baby for you to birth, believe it! Don't let any doctor steal your dream.

Oh don’t let this fool you. I went to a fertility center I tried on my own When I was 49 and then I decided to go with the donor and they took my money 24,000 to be exact because anybody over 45 cannot use their insurance… But they never told me throughout the year I was going there that my uterine lining never reached 7 mm and then gave me the egg transfer a 5.8 mm and I had a chemical pregnancy, chances are it was definitely the thickness of my uterine lining… They don’t tell you everything they should’ve told me I wasn’t a good candidate instead of taking my money… It’s not so easy getting pregnant with a donor egg, chances are greater but there are still other obstacles they don’t tell you in the beginning.

I know someone who prayed to conceive (they had fertility issues) and had 2 kids at 35 and 40 respectively but God also has given people rationale and forethought. If most women have fertility problems at a certain age, it would make sense to research ivf, egg freezing etc. as God has given humans the brains to devise these procedures... I know it's not for everyone and having excess embryos sitting in storage (which can be a by product of ivf), unused or even destroyed, goes against my personal ethics but certain procedures might be worth considering...
Is there an age when you'd discourage a healthy woman or couple from getting pregnant? My husband has never had a biological child and we met when it was apparently too late for us to conceive naturally as we have never used birth control and I conceived 4 times easily as a younger woman. I am now in menopause and on estrogen. I'm in excellent physical shape and people are always stunned when they discover that I am 53. My family all lives well into old age (even up to 100 in a couple cases), no diseases or health problems. My pregnancies were healthy and I gave birth naturally. My reproductive organs are all in tact, and I have no personal or family history of miscarriages, stillbirths, or birth defects. My sons would say my biggest issue has been passing down my height deficiency ( I'm short), but since I'd be using a donor egg anyway this baby wouldn't have to worry about that! Also, if you wanted them to have a sibling could you have twins?
Age is just a number. At the same time, there are risks in pregnancy as we get older no matter how fit you are. The biggest risk is pre-eclampsia. I think we have really good strategies to prevent it like aspirin in pregnancy. I personally don't think you're too old at 53 to have a baby. I have plenty of patients in their early 50s just like you who feel ready to have a baby and feel the energy of a 20 year old! And we don't usually transfer 2 for many reasons because of all the risks involved.

Yes! I believe in the fertility of every patient I meet. I don’t think of a patient as a number, an fsh level, an amh level of an age. I look at their fertility indicators then give them their fertility facts so they go into treatment knowing everything. And of course I have 42 year old patients too that are moms from their own eggs. But 10 percent will be successful. The 90 percent need to know the real deal before treatment so they don’t feel misled or misguided.

I haven't had a period in about 2 years. I recently started bioidentical hormones and my cycle returned and I started having ovary pains like I used to. Thank you Doctor I have been going through your massage but they have really given me hope that I can get a baby. I grew up in a Christian family where having a child when yo not married so I had to wait till I got married at the age of 40 now I have been married for for three years am now 43 without a baby which makes me mad because I want to become a mother . And I have missed my periods now three months I think it might be menopause. But I don't have any frozen eggs is it possible for me to get a baby using donor age?

You have a very low chance at 41 with an AMH of 0.3. I would do the following: 1. treat your diabetes 2. Ask your doctor about surgery for your complex cyst 3. Talk to your doctor about creative family building options if your own eggs isn't an option anymore. Egg donation and embryo donation and adoption are great options!

Rameen Zafar I’m sorry you’re going through this. At the age of 24 it could be from: a genetic or autoimmune issue. Make sure your doctor has done these tests for you and see if you can find a doc to help you with ivf if possible.

If you’re freezing your eggs, just make sure your uterus is empty and healthy! Don’t get uterus fibroids! It will ruin all your chances of getting pregnant! Love 💕

@@sunflowerjoy1450 if you do get fibroids ( non-cancerous tumors) they grow in the uterus. But there is an option to remove them surgically. Some women get them and no one knows why other than it’s genetics but it doesn’t mean you will have them. So if you think about freezing your eggs. Please do so. You will not regret it!!!

Hello Dr. Aimee! I am 34 years old and going through pre menopause. According to my blood work my doctor told me I have either no eggs or no healthy eggs and put me on prempro. I even made an appointment with a fertility doctor who didn’t run any test but said my only option was to implant a donor egg. This is just not something I want to do. I’m currently trying to find ways to possibly get pregnant. I understand that once your eggs are gone they are gone but I don’t know, maybe I still have some healthy eggs. Me and my husband have been trying for almost three years now. I have given birth to 3 children and he has 3 also. We both adopted each other’s children and now are a blended family with 6 children, we both just want to have the experience of having a child together. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Run those test from 3 other different clinics to see if the results are coming same and do the average of those results
, also AMH can vary time to time, so run it in few months apart. And don’t give up, if it still less then try mini IVF to see yourself what exactly happens after stimulation. Just don’t give up and keep fighting.

If you still menstruating then if you don’t want a surprise I will advise you to go on bc because my friend just found out she’s pregnant at 51! And there’s a few other women in their 50s I met who did get pregnant too, so it is a slim chance but it still a chance
