This recipe is great thank you so much! I would use a preservative in it as an extra precaution though, I know the base comes with it but I would use a little more for the extra ingredients added! Take care
Good afternoon. I am wondering if you can use another foaming bath butter. I can’t seem to find the Stephenson OPC. I found the Stephenson melt and pour. Any help if greatly appreciated. Also do you need to add a preservative to this scrub? Thanks.
Hi Francesca. Thank you ! I didn’t put any in this video since the soap base already contains a preservative. But you can add one if you wish for example Optiphen at 0.5%
You should definitely use it within a couple of weeks. Interesting fact is that I found a scrub I made a year ago and it’s perfectly ok. I’m using it myself :) hugs
I am in Europe and my supplier for Shea butter doesn’t exist outside of Europe. The one in the description is a good quality option available at amazon for US. If you are in Europe you can check Mystic moments.
Hello Sarah. This is a very good question. Actually the foaming bath butter will give this nice whipped consistency that will not be possible with normal melt and pour. Really sorry. You could make a sugar scrub without soap but it’s a different product. Do you have the possibility to get the foaming bath butter ?
Hello. You don’t need to be sorry to ask. I’m happy to help. The texture will be amazing and not hard at all. This scrub is very spreadable and fluffy. The Shea butter adds the skin loving extra ingredient so you don’t need to put cream on your body after the treatment. I will have another video of a whipped scrub coming up very soon. Stay tuned.
Hi Breannah. Very good question. It is very difficult to whip melt and pour base. You could try adding some liquid soap to it and see if you can whip it. Let me know if this helps. I did it some years back with soap frosting for melt and pour and it worked but it wasn’t stable for that purpose.
I love this! I tried it out and it works lovely!! Thank you. Would I be able to add more butter to make it more moisturising? If so how much would you recommend based on your formula? Thank you
You are very welcome. Yes I think you could play with the ingredients and add more shea or less sugar etc. I wouldn’t exaggerate with the Shea butter though. (Not more than 50%) Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your reply I appreciate that! 💕Would i also be able to ask, when making a whipped body butter, when i whip my butter, it seems to get to a good consistency then when I pipe it it turns runny. Would you know the cause of this? X

? When I whip my sugar scrub up it's fluffy and I put in in a 8 oz container it only weight 3.5 oz. am I doing something wrong?
It’s probably due to the air that gets incorporated into the mixture. So you end up with more volume than weight

Hello Shaniya. If it is at least at 50% concentrated you can. I personally never tried.
