Jay, I graduated High School in 1959. Seeing those photos and cards is very nostalgic for me. I have my parents autograph books from the twenties and some of the messages and signatures are done in ink and are really beautiful. Valentines, Birthday Cards and Christmas card were larger, more deeply colored and had added layers of cloth or paper lace or glitter Today you'd probably pay 20 dollars for the same quality. Times change but families are still taking photos and going places. ^60 years from now, our modern era will be the same nostalgia...How time flies! Cheers, Rik Spector
I hope you keep your eyes open for bonds.... lots of old folks purchased them and put them in personal papers..... tucking away for many years of maturity! Often forgotten !!! Love your videos and look forward every day to see what you are finding.....
Loved the hope chest and I think whoever bought it got a great deal! Once again so many many pieces to me back to grandmother's house. I always appreciate all you do Jack, thank you! God bless you and yours
You could sort some of the photos and papers and cards into packs of vintage/retro papers for crafting, scrapbooking and journalling. You could also add in some of the pages of old books or music scores that are falling apart. I've seen them for sale on places like ebay, etsy or amazon.
We didn't have computers to store things. So making scrapbooks and special boxes was a way to remember things. We were considered horders just because we kept a few boxes lol. But my girls and I love looking at it now.
Thanks for showing us all of the red glassware from Avon. It brought back memories of my mom having one of the small goblets, which see used for votive candles.
Less than 200 away from 30k?!?! It's so awesome to see how fast your channel has grown ❤️ Great videos. Thanks for bringing us along with all of your adventures.
My Mama had one very similar, same curved top and in perfect shape. My Dad sent her the money when he was in the Navy to buy herself a hope chest. This was in WWII. I still have it and treasure it so much .
All those plates are prime time for Thanksgiving and the holidays! People need to replace their chipped / cracked items before guests come when they host! Just make sure you pack these well! Nice find!
Thanks for being honest and telling us you already looked inside to make sure you were making an interesting video. So many of your contemporaries feign surprise when they darn well know what hey are going to find when they open a box!
I would be "stuck" going through these materials for weeks!!! I love this old California history!! It is AMAZING!! And one day very soon, it is going to be quite valuable...wow! Thank you for sharing these things with us...you are doing it just right!
Her HS Commencement program was from 1955, which would make her 10 years older than I am. Since I'm 72, she would be in her 80's. I suspect that she has died. 😢
1stPCFerret That is likely true. As a scrapbooker myself, I would hope that someone in my family would want my albums or collectibles, but I know my kids aren’t as sentimental as I am, nor as interested in the family heritage. It’s a different era.
Thank you for showing us the Red Cape Cod glass. It's a beautiful and large collection. I was waiting for you to figure out that those were candle holders. I laughed when turned them over, I wasn't expecting you to do that.
Wow! Loved that you put the red stuff all out on the table!!! Very Impressive! Pieces of that would look so nice on the Christmas dinner table! Thanks for sharing, you ROCK!
You should definitley part out, it would only be what 10 listings with each having multi items. Easier to ship too. Make it so you appeal to all collectors, some may want to replace one piece, some may want a whole setting so they add 6 or 8 plates. Make sure you do two things, list the whole collection photo in each listing, pictures of whole collections makes the buyer feel like you looked after and apprieciated what you have, also put links showing the other pieces your selling in the description offering combined shipping. When the total on the plates get low then list again grouiped up to 4 or 6s. Great videos as always.
The red glass ware you have is a collection of Cape cod by Avon, it is a collector's dream . My grandmother sold avon for over 40 years you need to go to the Avon web site or sell it at auction site. It's a great set.
I have this exact same cedar chest, I bought at an auction several years ago, mine is scratched a bit but what is really cool it has the original sticker inside. I will be happy to share if you wish.
Great video Jack! That Red Avon glassware is very pretty I’m sure you’ll get a buyer for it. GL on your next unit🍀 I forgot to mention the other dinner ware is Franciscan Desert Apple 🍎 very popular in the 80’s God Bless🙏🏻
I live very close to the Great Salt Lake in the desert of Utah. Any chance I could purchase that postcard from you? I would cherish it. That was very sad, seeing all the memories not taken care to stay in the family. Maybe the lady that collected it all died, and there was no one to care. You are very respectful, always. The red ware was gorgeous...what a collection! I love your lockers!!
Some years ago I sold a couple of lots similar but smaller to your Avon glassware for good prices. Both went to California. First went to a movie rental house and they didn’t even care if any had chips. The second went to some event place where they offer choices. That place I could check website to see what they used. It might be worth a short look around you, no sales fees or shipping
I wonder if she maybe sold Avon . My sister-in-law bought piles of stuff and she sold until she could barely walk. Her daughter has been selling now for years. But Avon had such nice stuff.. Oh that would have been such a shame if you had. Please keep us up to date.💕🤗
I would bet someone in her family would be delighted to get those memories that she saved for family to hand down I know I would if that were my relative. I love Ancestry and family history
Hi Jack, my name is Brian from Bradenton, Florida. I was going through your Ebay site and I saw on it a Winnie the pooh and friends tea pot for sale . I am a great fan of your channel and love seeing storage lockers you buy. I would love to purchase some stuff from you some time. I collect NFL shirts and hats. Well thanks for reading my post.
Excellent I so enjoy the way you present your post's so keep up the brilliant work old chap just wish I could buy something but I think postage to the UK would be a bit on the expensive side. Merry Christmas. Gary...... England 🇬🇧
On the dolls you found see if they are bisque. I found one in a locker, small one that was broken and she sold for over 500 on eBay on auction. She was small like the ones you have. I guess she was French and was called a cabinet doll. No markings on her. I had no idea she was worth so much, if I had known and had her fixed she would have been worth over 12k. I guess you live and learn with doing the locker business. 😊
17:50 The red glass .... it might be worth the time to inquire at auction houses to see how much they might *really* be worth. If a higher end auction house take them on, and advertise to collectors, you might see a really good return..
That chest is only 80 years old or so; it's allowed to be a little banged up. The style is what's known as "waterfall". The shipping on those plates ran afoul of DIMM (aka DUMM) weights, between plates and packing. Since you're a company you probably have a UPS account or FEDEX. It could be considerably less.
I know exactly where the White Kitchen is. It is now a small City called Slidell just across Lake Ponchartrain from New Orleans. I think the building was finally torn down after Hurricane Katrina.
The Avon dishes are listed on Replacements Ltd. They buy items in new or like new. Or you can see the selling $. They tend to be on the higher end. I’ve sold to them.. easy and paid quick. It’s really beautiful.
When Postcards Were the Social Network they would sometimes attach things like the Great Salt Lake in Utah, sometimes they would attach a little bag of salt to the postcard, or you can have googly eyes attached to a postcard and if you shake it, the little eyes move.

Thank you Michele!
Red glassware was amazing!!! Thanks for showing it all!
You did that just for us? Wow! A lot of extra work! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I did not realize the red dishes would resale for that much. I figured Avon, a dime a dozen but it wasn’t. I’m so happy for you. Thanks for the video.

I was a Jobs Daughter back in 1968 to 1970. It was a great group for young ladies. Thanks for all the memories that book brought back to me.
We didn't have computers to store things. So making scrapbooks and special boxes was a way to remember things. We were considered horders just because we kept a few boxes lol. But my girls and I love looking at it now.
Paper and moose would love the photos and postcards!

I have my husbands grandmother’s scrap book from the 30s. It is filled with old cards. So cool.
Lots of memories in that cedar chest. Thanks ♥️
Thanks for showing the whole lot of glassware. Appreciate it! It should sell pretty well right before Christmas.
I would be "stuck" going through these materials for weeks!!! I love this old California history!! It is AMAZING!! And one day very soon, it is going to be quite valuable...wow! Thank you for sharing these things with us...you are doing it just right!
Paper and moose would love those items. You should check with her and see.
I was thinking the same thing!!!!!
Yes! The contents of hope chest! She would love that!
Insane red glass collection! Amazing!
Anxious to see what kind of $$ you garner.
It is wonderful, yet sad, that this woman spent so much time saving and collecting memories, for them to end up abandoned. Thank you for sharing them.

A little Murphy oil soap and it will be good 👍

I mean share pictures
I am glad you showed it all. that was a lot. Good luck
the Fransiscan Ware is the Apple pattern. If it is made in USA or California is quite collectable! Much more valuable then the made in England stuff.
Great video Jack! That Red Avon glassware is very pretty I’m sure you’ll get a buyer for it. GL on your next unit🍀
I forgot to mention the other dinner ware is Franciscan Desert Apple 🍎 very popular in the 80’s
God Bless🙏🏻
Love the Avon Red Glassware. Always love your videos. God Bless from Alabama.

How in the world can anyone collect that much Avon Ruby Red dish set that’s mind blowing.

18:07 I think if you turn those 4 things over, they may be candle stick holders.
The orange blossom plate is beautiful!!
I recognize a cedar chest! The chest alone will pay for the unit.🤗🤗
When my grandson was little and we would collect rocks he called them remembering stones
I would bet someone in her family would be delighted to get those memories that she saved for family to hand down I know I would if that were my relative. I love Ancestry and family history
I have lots and lots if old pictures and postcards. Best ones are Cuban, 1949. My in laws honeymooned there.
Hi Jack. You’ll do great piecing that red set out on eBay. It’s heavy so that’s the best way to do it. Tfs
Hi Jack, my name is Brian from Bradenton, Florida. I was going through your Ebay site and I saw on it a Winnie the pooh and friends tea pot for sale . Wow..all that red glass I need I want. :)
Wow I wonder if the owner of all the Cape Cod glassware knew how much of it they had. Sure is a lot and was spread over many boxes
That's hard even for me to believe that it's just after I was born. GodBless you all. 💕👍🤗

It is a 1943 or so Lane Waterfall series Hope Chest.
Those red items you were looking up are candle holders. They're upside down.
Try to find the family if you can, a lot of family history in the trunk
17:50 The red glass .... it might be worth the time to inquire at auction houses to see how much they might *really* be worth. If a higher end auction house take them on, and advertise to collectors, you might see a really good return..
The Masons in that area may be interested in the Job's Daughters stuff.
The little dolls are from the 40s called storybook dolls by Nancy Anne. Collectible.
Love that cedar chest.. I would snag it for $50 !
Use Scotts liquid gold for light wood it will really make the trunk great with just a little rub down. It is amazing stuff.
Yay! Amazing Red Glass!😁
The Franciscan was apple not desert rose

Howdy locker nuts family
Job's Daughters is part of the Shriners Organization. It is for the daughters of members.
Omg !!! That is alot of red. I would rather sell it locally , than shipping it.
I know exactly where the White Kitchen is. It is now a small City called Slidell just across Lake Ponchartrain from New Orleans. I think the building was finally torn down after Hurricane Katrina.
That Francisca is called Franciscan Apple. Desert Rose has a pinkish flower
Thanks for that clarification! The last set I had found was Desert Rose, so I thought this the same, but didn't really look at it all that closely.
They look close!!! My niece had 2 different grand
Very nice . Love videos . Bless ya
Orange blossom plate £30 pounds each 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Deffo looks like listing the glasswares in smaller sets, of each item type, would be worth while.
I would see if this person is still living or her family I sure they would appreciate having those memories.
LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S.
Thanks again for another great video xXx
If hou find really old masonic stuff i am always interested in rescuing and preserving scottish rite york rite shriners and blue lodge Items
Need to turn that over to the local Free Masons Lodge
Cedar chest is just like my mom's. I am 69 so it's pretty old.
The Avon dishes are listed on Replacements Ltd. They buy items in new or like new. Or you can see the selling $. They tend to be on the higher end. I’ve sold to them.. easy and paid quick. It’s really beautiful.

The dinner plates sell for $29. $10 is too low.
