Yea the first one sounded weird.. but also seemed like it was overpowered by the Raco bell. The second one was great! Not really a big fan of the teardrop bell sound. But like I said i loved the second one. The one on the CF&E was way off beat.
As someone who lives by and has heard the second bell since the day i first saw a train, i can verify that that bell is still there to this day. I actually had said to the signaling company when i saw them that that that bell is in wonderful shape and is well preserved. For most likely being 1950s
@@BNSF2184 Many indeed. The GLC/TSBY/AA/T.A.A&N.M. (have seen almost all different names used) At least in Howell, rarely upgrades old equipment. We have old PRR style switch stands and a US&SC distant to the diamond and link with the CSX line. And yes, quite a bit of old crossing hardware
There’s 2 left in Pennsylvania I know of, both on the former Bessemer and Lake Erie (now owned by CN). One’s in Grove City at the Center Street crossing and the other is in Greenville at the Donation Road crossing. I’ve filmed the one in Grove City a few times and will probably post those videos on my side channel, and am out waiting for a train to capture the Greenville one tonight!
Not sure. I know some of these are weak AF. The first one I wouldve liked to have heard by its self cuz it sounds more like a WRRS/WCH to me that a teardrop.
Second. Howell is a treasure for railfans. If you want to se a nicely preserved depot, older crossing/signal hardware (CSX operates a searchlight canteleiver and GLC operates older us&s 3 light ones) and sometimes we get 1225 to stop by during events!
Awesome video and great crossings! Especially love the two GLC ones and the one in Chenoa!

Didnt know teardrop bells could ring that fast.
Nice
There’s a few of these bells left in Texas.
Awesome hearing a teardrop bell. I know there's one in kalkaska Michigan on the GLC line
Just looked it up. Theres a lot on the GLC/AA

That 1st one rings really fast.
I like old railroad crossings
I love these bells. But I wonder why they chime slower than other bells.
Old age... and theres a thing inside the bell u can adjust the speed on.
Why is it that ALL teardrop bells sound very different from each other

@@BNSF2184 my teardrop bell sounds almost identical to a WRRS bell.
Nice! I believe there is one of these left in my area, and nobody’s ever caught a train there and recorded it. I hope to get there sometime!
Cool
Old crossings forever!
Nice!
@ 3:50 I've seen this crossing before and it was the first one I've seen with a teardrop bell. Nice to know how it sounds like.
7:57: Why does a Safetran mechanism have a Teardrop bell? .,.
I guess when the upgraded the crossing the just replaced the signals and put the teardrop back up.
There’s one like that over here in VA. You can find it on my channel
I’m near the second crossing
