After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for this game to be released, there was a lot of hype surrounding AEW Fight Forever, but has it lived up to it? In this AEW Fight Forever review, I'll give you all of my thoughts regarding the game, both positive and negative, so you have a completely honest review to help you decide whether to buy it or not.

One thing to notice is that current THQ is not the same as the old THQ. Current THQ is a different company which got access to the name THQ.

It is a different company. I think they'll turn it around too. They already create a mod channel just for modders to discuss stuff and added a feedback channel in their discord.
I think AEW had Yukes hold back content. Like, they want to add more stuff when they launch the Stadium mode. It's kinda a botched launch for them, but maybe they'll be able to fix issues first before they launch the new stuff so it's all working correctly.
The old THQ sucked.

_They were going for the Classic Video Games of the 2000's. _*_But even they had more options for Customisation, Play Modes, Unlockables._*_ When Just Bring It has more in it than your multi-year delayed game, theres a big issue._

What really scares me is there are people who are eating this 60 bare bs game up. If this was EA or Activision we would be calling for a boycott. THIS GAME has nothing and is boring after you do everything to do. To say its better then 2k with its match types alone is insane. People are beaten and beg for more this day in age.

This is one of those games that you shouldn't get on launch, but wait until it's gotten a few updates. Around early next year it should be worth its price tag I think. By then we have hopefully gotten stuff like steel cage matches, tornado tag and a lot more parts for CAW mode.

I feel like this first iteration is the foundation for what they really want to put in a game that'll be remembered for decades to come.

The game seems to hate customization, and I just don’t understand why. You can’t alter ANYTHING.
- Wrestler attires
- Wrestler stats
- Win conditions
- Casino Battle Royal participants
The game doesn’t let you alter a goddamn thing. It’s ridiculous.
They need to add all the Aki features like getting to the ropes in a submission , and balancing the momentum system along with pins

I have the game and am happy I have it, enjoying the gameplay with my kids. But roster isn't great, match types are limited and the price is too high! All fixable things; for me more match types would be my main wish. Tornado Tags, Trios, Handicap, cage, ladder 4 way etc.
You forgot to mention us ps4 players can't even play the game with out turning off the internet to the ps4 ( and if you do that you can't play online)

Very well put! The gameplay is fun but the game lacks so much content. Buying later on sale is definitely the move to not only get this for cheaper but when it's POTENTIALLY much better.
I’m not going to buy it until they add new things to it like new wrestlers, matche types, customization, and etc. but it has potential tho

To me it has a strong foundation but it's bare bones however it has potential, when they add more match types and game modes and more stuff for CAW it can definitely become a fantastic game. Even though the reviews have been mixed it's in a better position then say a Cyberpunk, Star wars BF 2, or hell even Street Fighter 5 before those games got updated. Rn I'm enjoying the game for what it is.
Trust me, other than basic DLC like a couple new superstars, there WILL NOT be any major updates for this game. This was just a cash grab by Kenny and crew!
It's a really good base for them to work off, I'm sure the next game will be better, not to say it will be the best, but it will be better.
I really hope they are working on some sort of deeper creative suite cause otherwise it’s rather confusing as this game seems like it hates the editing of anything in the game. Surely they know it would get the reaction it is, so it seems odd that they wouldn’t try to appease that a little bit. Like they went out of their way to limit that. I mean you can’t even change colors on the rosters attires. All just seems odd. Which only leaves me to hope they are working on something hat they will announce soon in the way of more control. I feel like if they don’t improve it in some way with future updates it may really turn some people off of it.

The game is fun and easy to pick up and play, I like most of it but the only issue I have is the price!! There is no way it should be priced at £49.99!!!! It is no where near worth the money, they should have priced it a lot less, around £20 to £30 would have been more appropriate!!

If we even thought that this is slightly below the full "AAA" price tag this game is nowhere close to the market standard.
Games that came out in 2014-16ish had vastly superior offerings to the point that they cannot be compared.
In fact forget about 2016, games from 20 years ago had more features than this.
If this game gets many free updates it might but worth it but rn this is laughable!
They need more wrestlers more creation parts and the shyt I hate is you have to play road to elite to get abilities which killed it for me I don’t mind the entrances tho I don’t care about that like others but they definitely need to update this shyt fast and I don’t wanna pay for them over time unless it’s like fortnite with battle pass and have the current talent be earned through stadium stampede battle royale Also plz organize the move sets it pisses me off trying to scroll for a superkick 😂

With modern emulation options it's easy to revisit the classic SmackDown, Day of Reckoning, N64 titles.
They were far better at what this game is trying to copy, with similar graphic quality (this game looks like it is from 2009.)
This would have been ahalfway decent game 20 years ago. It's an embarrassment for modern systems.

Although I do like the the special things you can do with the characters and the crazy matches but man that's it the matches themselves still suck but also like the old school view they should have different centers options
So many people defending this game ignoring the fact that it has missing features from 3 consoles generations ago.
The UI, the weapons, the view on the ring all remind me of WWF No Mercy.

Everything about this game it didn’t sit right with me only because when the game was announced I was actually going to wait for a year or so but then just a little later the game was announced that it was coming out I was scratching my head wondering why so soon it just didn’t seem right and my gut instincts was right so I’m glad that I didn’t buy right away thank you for your video it helped
So.... I grew up on WWF Smackdown 2 Know Your Roll, WWE Smackdown Shut Your Mouth, Smackdown Here Comes the Pain and WWF No Mercy n64 let me tell ya i had way more fun on those games than AEW it was great to play as CM Punk again but this game was Meh to me

THQ hasn’t been relevant in the gaming industry in a decade so this is on brand for them as a publisher.
With Yukes I don’t really expect anything since again when was the last independent product they did.

The foundational pieces to the AEW game are better than WWE2K23 but there is no question the WWE game is a long established and more complete game. I think the AEW game as a finished product for the future will easily be better than the WWE game if it gets the necessary support to justify it.

Played the game for 2 days, then went on vacation and hadn't played again yet. Loved it so far, but 1 thing I have been looking for I hadn't seen. In No Mercy and the older games, when you would take on arm damage, the arm would hang and be held, leg damage would cause a limp, hadn't seen that yet, but once again hadn't played but a couple days before leaving.

The only reason you get a title shot in the game was because you were in the casino battle Royale, if you lose the casino battle Royale then you have to work your way from the bottom to the top

People saying this is better then 2k23?! I legit played 5 hours with a friend then we hopped over to 2k and did a 5 man elimination table match. I mean COME ON! The game play is fun but I enjoy 2k's The story mode is horrible and yay a lame battle royale is coming soon cant wait!

That game sucks. I'm tired of people wanting "arcade" wrestling games; it's unnecessary now. Arcade games were due to limited technology, and devs were lazy, settling for "good enough." Simulation is the way to go for sports games, offering a better experience than outdated arcade stuff from 1999.

I'm happy about the game too. For years we've been stuck with games that are heavy in features and graphical spectacles. However, we've been asking for a game with just downright good wrestling. Now we have such a game, and so many people are complaining about the peripheral items that's we've had in the past, while the gameplay lacked. People are full of it...

They are actually a company called Nordic games or a tr least were then in 2016 when thq went bankrupt they brought some of there cheaper I.p and the trademark for thq and rebranded them selves as thq Nordic.
The story mode is AEW for real for real 😅

That’s the same thing I asked. 3-4 years of development for a game with less content than no mercy. A game that came out 4 gaming generations ago.
I didn't get a title match at the first ppv I got a triple threat match with Jericho and mjf 😅 & remember how barebones the original smackdown game was, which if your comparing fight forever to any game in the franchise as its the first iteration. Road to elite is supposed to be short because they want you to go through it many many times. Stuff having it 40hrs long and having to do that. And a lot of my 'random opponents' were part of who ever I was feeding with stable 🤷♂️

this game just pisses me off now ! I keep paying 20$ for the season passes I have all the DLC BUT Like I PAID for the DLC's BUT No EDGE YET. I paid for . No Halloween map I paid for. & FUCK THESE people if The EDGE & Halloween map comes out in halloween cuz that's 5 months from now that would be to long to wait for that. they don't have good match types it's so repetitive

The main appeals to the games are
1) The arcade style gameplay we have been having a lack of and what a lot of players have been wanting. Me personally I’m fine with both
2) Being able to official play as your favorite AEW stars instead of a CAW in 2K
3) It isn’t 2K or WWE there’s a new game on the market which has its own style too to it cause if it was trying to be 2K it wouldn’t have much appeal to it imo
I’m glad the game exist, I’m not gonna get it cause there’s like hardly anything to do in the game beside just play it. I enjoy a nice career mode which was more along the lines of early 2K where you are fighting up the ranks, get to choose a tag partner and your rival so really feel like your working your way up the card. It can work great in an AEW with their record system. Plus the game is outdated like most 2K games are too but they do throw things in to try and make sure it’s the most up to date. The Women’s title is the old version and their isn’t the Trios or International championship in the game either. For a game like this to stay relevant you need those extra game modes which people can come back to and keep playing like 2K has with their Universe Mode and MyGM mode. Speaking of MyGM, AEW has a mobile game where you are a booker for AEW so they can try and translate that to the game since it was more along the lines of the great SVR GM modes we need.
I hope AEW continues to make more games in the future because we need that competition even tho the game aren’t competing with gameplay they are as brands do you want the WWE game or the AEW game currently at market price as such

After about 4 hours you've done everything there is to do. Could play it with others but it's buggy as hell

My point is that wwe 2k in modern day bores me. Great customization, lots of game modes, lots of stuff to do. But I can't stand the gameplay. 22 and 23 are better obviously than 2k20. But...not the redeemer the genre needed. So tired of the slow wobble walking around the ring, the slow pace of the moves, the overly complicated controls. Why do I need to hit so many buttons just to drag an opponent to the corner? Terrible Irish whipping, all the moves reel likecthey have zero impact, etc etc. Almost every wrestling game made between 1996 and 2013 were better than 2k. Even tna impact.

If you liked the old games you will love this game. I'm a big wrestling fan and I'm enjoying it need some work on some stuff.
This is a foundational game and it is going to be pretty bare being such. WWE2K15 was the same exact way once they transitioned to a new system. That was the first wrestling game for the PS4 and it was a soft reboot from 2K14. The gameplay mechanics are on point but got to just add to it. The pin and submission system is too tense nearly impossible to kick out or escape if you have a finisher done to you and have lower momentum. Got to add being able to getting to the ropes on submissions and full directional running. Running finishers in particular are difficult in multi man matches. All in all it is a fun game and the individuality gameplay from character to character is really good each feels unique from the next. Here is to hoping this game gets Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter and Tekken levels of updates and support over extended period of time
It’s not a foundation game though. They said that it’s not gonna be a yearly series and instead they’ll just add dlc wrestlers overtime.
