Alain, what a project! Your high level of skill and attention to detail really shines through in your work! It was obviously a labor of love. Congratulations to building a beautiful structure!
Sir, you are a true and quintessential craftsman. your attention to detail is Amazing. I could watch you work all day. Beautiful work and the joinery is second to none.
I was hoping you would put together an anthology of the entire construction. Seeing the videos even brought back memories for me... Like seeing Matthias on site and the crane construction. Well done Alain!
Wow Alain, great video, watched them all as you built. You are a very lucky man to have the great wife that you do, she's a real gem. Looking forward to seeing all the projects that will be coming out of that fabulous shop.
Beautiful shop Mon chum. Of all the shops I've found online, this is my dream shop. Btw, I don't think you need any celebrities? When you have all that talent in your head, heart, and hands. It was still kind of them to offer help. Many hands makes light work.
It was a great series Alan, I enjoyed all of it, and I'm looking forward to your future projects, Merry Christmas to you and your family, Best wishes Harry
Envy is a terrible trait, I have plans for a "Stock Wall" (Scandanavian type wooden cabin) and only hope mine turns out as good as yours. Keep the videos coming please. Merry Christmas from England.
I know this video is old, but i just have to say that you are a very skilled craftsman. That garage door blew my mind. Very beautiful shop. I dream for that one day.
@@LgosseuxDbois-TheWoodpecker absolutely. I just have to get out of the city and into the country land. Maybe within the next 2 years. I never considered timber framing until I saw this video.
For my taste it WAY better, for a shop. On top of having a 16' ceiling, so you can turn long pieces around, you have a space which is usually better looking than your own house... At least for me, my shop is way nicer than my house. But the ultimate experience is building it yourself, this worth 100 folds of being proud against paying someone to do it for you. each time you step inside you won't be able to remind yourself that you build it yourself. Send me picture if you ever make it.
Yes a dairy would have been a very nice keep sake for you. Thank God I kept one on my Roubo Bench build it has served me well. I envy you having the money, skill and youth to do this build. I am well experienced in Construction and woodworking and I say BRAVO TO YOU on a job very well done. I know you will have many years of happiness while working in your beautiful shop. Your are a very lucky man to have had so many friends and neighbors to help you and of course your wife right there by your side helping and doing so much of the insulation work too I might add. Great Job!
Thank you. I know I'm blessed having Renée around. And now I even have a place of my own to do what I love with out the dust and noise inside the house. This was my dream and I don't regret a penny I spent on it.
This is one guy who's in touch with his audience. Some guys have the newest tools and some still enjoy the feel and punishment of the traditional tools😉 He speaks to all of them...like a Shaman of Woodworking.
Really enjoyed the video series but this retrospective reminds me just how much work you and your wife put into building your shop. I hope you enjoy it for many, many years. And keep making the videos for us to see...
Alain, another great video! I too watched you and your wife build this wonderful Shop. I admire all the work you completed. A big project, but I don't need to tell you. It turned out fantastic! Thanks for your video, they are the highlight of my week when ever I see you produce another.
Great to see this again in a condensed version, so much work but definitely worth it! I would love a workshop that big, but I make do with a 10x8ft shed! Thanks for sharing.
I remember discovering your channel, it was like christmas! I then went on to learn that one of the most important qualities in a woodworker is patience. Thank you Alian and Rene for taking the time to share.
This is without a doubt the best, coolest, most awesome "shop" I've ever seen. I watched every video during the construction and enjoyed watching #100. Thanks so much for all the time spent on the videos!!!
I have watched the construction of your (shed?) and enjoyed every video. The workmanship is terrific and the end result absolutely amazing. Isn't it nice to have friends and others come and help. Congratulations.
Thanks for 100 brilliant episodes of 'The Woodpecker'. Really enjoyed watching that summary and am looking forward to all your forthcoming videos. Merry Christmas to you and your family :-)
Alain, I have been watching the entire series and don't think I have commented before but I have to say what a fantastic job, I'm jealous and also you have a fantastic wife, she built half of that shop!
I think I’ve watch just about every 100 episodes, I’m a huge fan Alain! By far the most outstanding shop I’ve ever seen. Your work is always immaculate! Your accent is not bad at all. I used to have a Yoga instructor that had the same accent. Her accent drew most the men into the class. That’s not the draw here for me, sorry Alain, but your work is educational and enjoyable to watch.
This is a tremendous accomplishment. Tons of hard work, and it really turned out great. I've enjoyed watching your progress along the way and appreciate seeing this recap. Bravo, sir!
Well done, It brings some memories of my last shop. Also proves one more time that we are all same. Your shop is amazing! Wishing you many happy hours in warm wood surrounding, Cheers from West Australia!
And you did a wonderful job on the build. Canada either has strict building codes or you are someone who really likes a stout building. Building is all I've ever done, and I'm old, and that is one fine building.
I love your synopsis. You covered the whole job, from start to finish, and gave your wife most of the credit in the process. Good on you, sir. She deserves every bit of it. I have watched the build from start to finish, and enjoyed every video you've posted, as you posted them. The results are dramatic when compressed into a short time frame, aren't they?
+Larry Aubry She deserve all the credit, on top of helping me on all the steps she had to cope with my stress of having the exterior closed before winter. I wanted to do an episode on all the process and what beter episode than the 100th. So I compressed 20 months of work into 12 minutes, this way it seems less overwhelming if someone else wantto do the same.
Wow, this is the first video I have seen of your, but not the last.. I am very impressed with your build and seeing a few others I follow, know they are also impressed as well. I have already subscribed and look forward to more video's. Very nice.....
My friend Alain, congratulations for your work, I've seen all your videos and I'm your fan. I'm from Brazil and I've trained my English with you. Tank you. Keep posting more videos, please!!! Hugs Mauricio (Maurice in French. (rsrsrs)
Great re-visit to your shop build, i followed the build on you tube when you published the build. Loved every minute, i even watched a few episodes in French because at the time i did not see the English ones.
I found your channel a few weeks ago. I watched the entire shop build and most of your earlier videos. Love the recap and the channel. PS: Your accent is fine with me. Thanks.
My late father was a carpenter. He died a year ago. Your videos are my therapy.
Absolutely beautiful! What amazing people you have supporting you and your work. Thank you for sharing this experience with us 🙏
Thank you verry much. And yes I was blessed having so much help from strangers.
With a shop like that, who needs a house? Its beautiful!
Hats off to Renee❤️ Super helper and fearless ! Awesome friends and build. Thanks
Thank you, Renée was a great help in my dream. I also had a lot of helps from viewers I'm so thankful for that
Alain, what a project! Your high level of skill and attention to detail really shines through in your work! It was obviously a labor of love. Congratulations to building a beautiful structure!
Thank you for documenting your process so thoroughly. I know firsthand it's not easy to stop what you are doing to film.
thank you
Congrats Alain. You're an inspiration to so many of us. I've watched all 100 episodes. I can't stay away.
Highest work culture. The highest quality of materials. Sincerely.
best 12 minutes of my youtube week - thanks for the video Alain!
+Nick Ferry Thank you, building it was the best time of my life :)
***** without a doubt!
Sir,
you are a true and quintessential craftsman. your attention to detail is Amazing. I could watch you work all day. Beautiful work and the joinery is second to none.
I was hoping you would put together an anthology of the entire construction. Seeing the videos even brought back memories for me... Like seeing Matthias on site and the crane construction. Well done Alain!
+Ed Draper Thank you
I had no need or desire to watch this.. Once I started, I couldn't stop! Well done... Great shop!
Thank you
What an amazing wood shop. You're a true craftsman. My hat is off to you Sir.
Alain, one of the reasons I watch the videos is because I enjoy listening to your accent! I often watch both the English and French videos.
That just came out beautiful. Love the interior doors and garage door that you made. Thank you for showing this recap
I felt like I was watching one giant woodworking project rather than a construction project. Some serious care and skills on display here.
It felt like that also when I was building it. thank you
Gorgeous build. Love all the wood on the interior and exterior.
Magnificent shop, brilliantly made. As for your accent, it made the build better. Merci.
Thats amazing. Thats a lot of hard work but now the blood, sweat & the broken bones are all behind . beautiful shop & great video...

Wow Alain, great video, watched them all as you built. You are a very lucky man to have the great wife that you do, she's a real gem. Looking forward to seeing all the projects that will be coming out of that fabulous shop.
you must be proud of your son , he seems so much help to you.
WOW AMAZING. This is an amazing beautiful shop. not to big not to small. just perfect. I love love love all the small touches.
Beautiful shop. I'd like to have a timber framed building (house or shop) one day. Thanks for sharing!
P
This is not true timberframe. Most joints use screws to stick together not classical joinery.
Great accomplishment and inspiring, your wife is a real trooper, life is good there. Keep up the good work, love your videos. Thank you.
You and Rene Get! Stuff! Done! Good job!
Good inspiration to peoples with low persistence
People like you change the world to good direction
Congratulations
amazing skilled carpentry men! Need a door , wait I'm already building it ....
Thank you for sharing your dream shop build. Beautiful work!
Beautiful shop Mon chum. Of all the shops I've found online, this is my dream shop. Btw, I don't think you need any celebrities? When you have all that talent in your head, heart, and hands. It was still kind of them to offer help. Many hands makes light work.
Incredible! You are obviously a master wood worker. Thanks for sharing!
It was a great series Alan, I enjoyed all of it, and I'm looking forward to your future projects,
Merry Christmas to you and your family,
Best wishes Harry
Buddy, that's the snazziest looking shop I've ever seen in my life. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Thank you.
If it's your dream, I wish you can build it one day. But the real joy is to build it yourself.

Isn't this Matthias Wandel at 6:02?
I thought the same thing!
+Heinrich Harring Yes :) He came one day to help me when we made the ceiling and the roof structure.

Came to the comments once I noticed Matthias. He is a good climber.
Yes he is!
Yes a dairy would have been a very nice keep sake for you. Thank God I kept one on my Roubo Bench build it has served me well. I envy you having the money, skill and youth to do this build. I think it's hilarious that in one scene they use hand miter saws, and a minute later it's the Cadillac of all miter saws, the Festool.
Thought the same thing!

I first stayed *because* of the accent! The woodworking also helps.
Beautiful craftsmanship! You pay attention to every detail. You are a true artist!
Wow. This is exactly how I wish to spend my retirement days!
A very appropriate 100th episode! I know I am not the only one envious of your shop!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Alain!
+Rob Harrod Thank you. And looking at your avatar I can see thet I'm not the onlyone having a dog sample at home ;)
***** Yes, I think that he feels he is bigger when perched up there!
+Rob Harrod Smaller they are higher they want to be :)
is it me or Mathias Wandel was sitting on your roof
Yes, but he didn't just sit on my roof, he came one day to help for the ceiling planks.

You are a talented and hard working craftsman, very impressive in all aspects.
So you won the lottery to pay for all?
No, just mortgage the house. I won't bring anything with me when I'll be 6' under...
Fixer upper

Renée is a gem, I couln't have done that without her.

Thanks. I showed how I did it so everyone can make the same thing themselves, it's not that hard, it only takes time.
