I could just walk right into many of these pictures and not come back out! I would adore to prepare food in the old style kitchens and enjoy the really superior vegetables and meats that were coming in from your own farm. .... sigh......

*Me conmueve profundamente esta mirada al pasado, observar la humana cotidianidad de aquellos que nos precedieron y que, aún siendo anónimos, quedarán para siempre en nuestras retinas, gracias al milagro de la fotografía*

Priceless. One pic with an actual Inglenook and another with an old round bathtub. Beautiful. Doesn't matter if a couple were a few decades later, they're all wonderful.

Amazing look into the past and how rustic the kitchens were, and how much hard work it must have been to prepare meals!

Improvident over cooking with charcoal ovens and on the fire place with charcoal and a wooden chimney

@@breejames6323 With out refrigeration and rapid transport most of your selection of food was limited to what was farmed locally

@01:25 . My grandmother's kitchen looked like that in the 1950s in rural England.

I noticed a radio in one of the pictures in this video. I would suggest that some of these pictures should not be included.

No microwave ovens emitting radiation, no LED’s, no ‘internet of things’ controlled appliances polluting the home environment with emf’s/wifi/Bluetooth…
Wish I could go back in time.

Clearly @ 3:45 the photo was taken some considerable time later than the 1800s as evidenced by the radio and clothing of the woman in shot. The stove however may have been a holdover from an earlier time (I'm no stove expert) and perhaps that was meant to be the point of the picture. All very interesting nonetheless.

It looks like it might be an early gas range. I can see a pipe going in from the left side

Back when meals were homemade and not filled with high fructose corn syrup sugar sodium msg artificial flavorings xanxom gum and other harmful chemicals.

Xantham gum is not an artificial flavour, it's a thickener made from simple sugars through the fermentation process. If you're gonna complain about food, at least know what it is first. You sound like one of those people that would sign a petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide because it's a chemical.

Can you tell me the name of the song? I remember it from a movie, but cannot put my finger on it. It's driving me crazy.

It's from Mussorgsky's 'Pictures At An Exhibition', it's been used in many films and TV shows, and ELP covered, as well as Isao Tomita.
