I love the artwork for this comic, especially Shadow's expressions. He's so enticing and attractively irresistible. No wonder Scourge was jealous. Has anyone noticed that Scourge has Werehog hands and fur? Mephiles is a real intimidating character, but the voice acting doesn't match the villain's own personality and ego, even his evil laugh is poor. This comic is a combination of Casper the Friendly Ghost and The Little Vampire. I want to see more of this cute version of Shadow the Hedgehog, but one who is straight and legit.
He was in a state of shock, he stood frozen in fair, that also happened to humans and some animals as well, the fair kicks in that it freezes your body and you mind just doesn't think about running away from the fear, that why he did run you can also see it in lost of movie where the a character is going to get hit by a car and we yell at the screen "just move out of the way" but they are frozen in fear.

It's basically the same story, but it shows what happens. That will help you get to the bottom of the situation. To be honest, the voice acting for your video is funnier than the other one, minus the robotic baby crying.
