I noticed as well as the post belows observations that you nearly got caught a few time going into tightening bends too hot. I fully understand that an auto requires a different technique to a geared motorcycle but slow in fast out would still work better than late hard braking and nearly running wide. But overall a nice ride. I love the Vespa GTS 300 in fact I’m on my second one now. That’s something I’ve never done with any motorcycle, that is buying the same thing twice, so it must say something. Vespa are damn good at what they’re made for. And nothing comes close to them. I’ve recently part exchanged my beautiful bmw r1100rt for my second Vespa and I don’t regret it. If all I did was motorway riding I would still have the bmw as that was great for that. But not so all round as the Vespa. Happy days and I hope you keep it for many more years
Here in the states a 2020 GTS 300 hpe is approximately $7200 US which I think is a bargain ( gts300 is factory set at 82 mph on 2020)plenty fast

*I notice you ride the same as I do!* 'Throttle-back' into a curve/'hug' the 'inner radius'/slowly
allow scooter to 'approach the center-of-lane' /then roll-on power the last 20% of the curve
so as to have 'firmer control' over the possibility of 'sling-shot' drift-effect.
(as you know, a shorter wheel-base and wheel-diameters tend to cause a scooter at higher
speeds to 'over-run' the apex of a curve at it's 'out-side'...right into oncoming traffic!)
*Wheel-rotations are so much faster than 'normal' wheel/tire of 16-inches or more...which means great caution must be used on 'long & tight' curves or else you will 'bullet-thru' the
curve and find yourself going-off on the opposite lane very quickly!*
(the lower the 'Center-of-Gravity', the more a two-wheeler 'wants' to stay upright & straight'
rather than 'lean over' on curves...my Honda always does this! It 'wants' to 'go straight- ahead'
rather than 'heel-over into the 'lean' of the curve)
*Did you get many chances to 'pin the speedo?* ( *wish I could afford a new '300' with all the
'options'...but on a fixed-income it won't happen!* )
Im envious about the roads you get to drive on. here in the philippines theres not a good road and just full of pollution and traffic. Im still getting my 300 since i think its a good quality traffic warrior! Cheers and safe driving!
As a consolation, I can tell you that those beautiful mountain roads are snowy and icy in winter and temperature is below 0°C. So, we can't ride at least about three months. Take care!

Les trajectoires ne sont pas du tout les mêmes avec un Vespa en 12 pouces!On dirait que ça ne va JAMAIS tourner!

You didn't really touch hundred 20 km per hour is it a problem for the Vespa to drive at 120
I am in the market for a Vespa currently and every now and then I will do a long stretch I am in South Africa and our distances is of quite vast

@@neelsdelange5828 The new vespa 2019 are 300 24hp.....the older on this vid are 276 21hp......you should hit over 120 km as long as you don't weigh in over 350 lbs plus

Wie ist denn so der durchschn. Verbrauch deiner Gts 300?
Der war so ca. bei 3,4 - 3,8 l/100km. Aber ich habe sie schon länger nicht mehr. Habe 27.000 km draufgeradelt und bin jetzt bei Harley gelandet.

Hab jetzt einen Rammount Adapter im Spiegelgewinde und einen Saugnapf fürn Kotflügel hinten. Muß erst testen ob der auf Mattlack hält. Lg

It’s a nice video but this isn’t the kind of ridding most people will buy a Vespa for. If I did this sort of riding on the regular I’d get a good motorcycle, possibly e en a comfy adventure bike.
What you suggest is exactly what I actually did. Currently I own a BMW 1150 GS, an Indian Scout and a Harley Sportster 1200 Custom. :-D I lost confidence in the Vespa when my 12" front wheel side-slipped and I barely made it.
@@WolfgangPototschnik That makes a TON more sense. The Vespa is more intended for short bursts and city streets (and commuting in that same general driving situation). My interest in Vespa is purely a practical one. I don't care one bit for the fashion statement. I would gladly get a REAL motorcycle over a 300cc scooter overpriced for hipster-bait. Alas, I'm in a city......

Rubbish, the speedometer is in Kilometres not mph.100 km is 62.5 mph and Vespa 300 will reach and hold 80mph. Most of his running is 50 to 65 mph.
The bike is governed to 82 MPH, you can't over rev it
