Oh man if only updating fixed actual hardware issues.
There are multiple potential causes for disc read errors; faulty lens, faulty connections, ribbons and controllers, faulty fuse and IC, faulty drive motor ... I've been going through quite a bit to figure it out on this PS4 Slim, I just replaced the lens and the issue persists, I have updated, I have cleaned I have tried with the system upright, flat, upside down ...

Geht bei mir so nicht. BluRays werden ohne Probleme geladen, DvDs garnicht.
Bei mir hat die PS4 Pro Probleme alle Arten von Discs zu erkennen, aber je nach Disc mehr oder weniger und es hilft meist auf die Oberseite der PS4 im richtigen Moment zu klopfen damit die Disc doch erkannt wird. Da alle Discs danach ohne Problem funktionieren bin ich etwas ratlos was das sein könnte. Der Fix hier hilft bei mir leider auch nicht.

What do I do if it didint work
Try the same game disk on some other ps4 (colleague/frnd). If the issue is same then the disk is not readable anymore and needs to be changed.
Flip the ps4 like a ps5 it will work

Good for you, but I still prefer movies on BluRays, which have the same issues as PS4 game discs.
