Was thinking of build crafting a tb+flurry,same concept as urs using 2 core skills one for high dps boss and one for the aoe. Inner sight is a must to get the infinite energy to spam tb the boss and mix flurry for packs...idk if it possible but dont knoe if its that necessary anymore when u technically have a better version that also a range
@@77rockcity oh save it. Go play Diablo 2 if you want your choices to "matter". By excluding some sort of load out swapping system it encourages players to make no choices at all. You pick what your build says and then never swap. With loadouts you have the freedom to make choices and not be punished (besides the gold cost) for doing so.
I plugged rapid fire into my existing build based on this video and I'm loving it. It's not just helpful against bosses and solo elites, it's amazing for killing the most annoying monsters in the entire game: the wasps.
For those who are struggling to find good gloves that add to both core skills, I wanted to suggest grasp of shadow. It can add 3 to all core skills (1 less than you can roll on gear) but comes with attack speed and vulnerable. You did give up an aspect slot but just wanted to share. Double skill gloves are hard to get quickly.
That's the one with the shadow mimic lucky hit? Got that today, gave up on another pair with flurry I had for this since it's been more useful on my shadow + flurry build and defense. Can't fail having a lucky shadow pop up and second flurry crit lol
I love these, I actually run them on my rapid fire shadow imbue build and actually added the shadow clone ult and using the imbuement ring that gives the shadow clone matching imbuement, tldr; explosions, explosions explosions! So much fun
This...I've gotten a bunch but after hitting WT4 I haven't found any :( I use flurry but poison. But before I was doing rapid fire...and with Grasp of Shadow, Shadow Clone Ult, the the aspect where clones copy imbuements...it MELTS bosses
I've tried them and they're honestly really bad compared to max crit and max attack speed gloves, even if you spec into shadow clone on the skills page.
This build is genuinely incredible. I usually love running Preparation but this build makes Combo Points shine. It fixed all of the resource and cooldown issues with my rapid fire build (no exploit glyph yet) by adding in my favorite melee ability - Flurry. I also love all the built in CC with dodge and Mangler's. It just feels like so many different things come together with this build. Pretty wild!

You're definitely my most favourite D4 Streamer. No bla bla, just great info and very likable presentation. And this build combines what i wanted to try and build myself anyway: A kind of hybrid build that still does feel rogue-style (even though it's 95% flurry ;)). I was trying to create a build without basic skills but I guess i made the mistake of going Flurry as only main damage skill. My last set-up was: Concealment, Shadow Step, Shadow Imbuement, Flurry, Shadow Clone, Dark Shroud. Basically maxing out Crit Chance and Damage. The energy management was only possible with all energy related skills and +energy aspects. It probably doesn't work the way I tried it. I basically ran out of energy facing sturdy elites or bosses, i.e. when there weren't lots of mobs around. I am only lvl72 and screwed up my Paragon board, no glyph at lvl15 yet - i.e.my dmg output is not great yet either. I might still give it a try but feel like using your build instead for a while :) But maybe you have a non-basic skill build available or would like to come up with one? I'd greatly appreciate to get inspired!

If you take 1 point out of dex in the cunning strategem board directly left of the glyph socket it doesn't effect any bonuses and you can put that point in +5% damage on 1st board.
*I don't remember this being mentioned, but you can also use the legendary Adventurer's Gloves of Quickening Fog to get a Smoke Grenade Daze at the end of Dash that also synergizes with the Concussive, Trick Attacks, and Rapid Gambits passives.* *Smoke Grenade by itself Dazes for 4 seconds which is 2 seconds longer than using Disciplined Dash. If you use these gloves you can choose Methodical Dash to reduce the cooldown time of Dash instead of using Disciplined Dash since you are already dazing enemies without needing the Shadowslicer gloves.* *The only downside to doing this is that the Daze effect is only applied to the area at the end of Dash instead of the entire distance of Dash which the Shadowslicer gloves paired with the Disciplined Dash passive does. So you sacrifice effect distance for a longer Daze time which results in more Knock Down time from getting crits. This is very helpful if you don't kill quickly.* *The last thing to mention is that the Aspect of the gloves also give Cooldown Reduction for each enemy Dazed with the Smoke Grenade at the end of Dash. So that paired with Methodical Dash as mentioned earlier, gives an extra second or more of CD reduction for Dash.* *The gloves I have have CD reduction up to 1.05 seconds. I am sure it can go up higher, but I'm not sure how much higher since this is my first time dropping these gloves.*
I have started running this build with Temerity leggings, and replaced Expectant with Conceited. Temerity is constantly popping up barrier and Conceited gives 25% dmg with barrier. I rarely even glance at health anymore as Flurry's healing keeps up barrier almost non-stop. Also added Icy Alchemist to sword to cause explosive dmg and spread chill.
Once again I'm so glad you landed here. This was the build I explored and stuck with since beta. For fun and some additional cc, you should try using Icy Alchemist's Aspect. The frost explosions seem to proc alot and can even freeze whole packs if u get the jump on em. I'm using Dark Shroud instead of dash to help me push higher tier NM dungeons as it helps me get in and survive a bit longer. I might have to try the dash daze to help me set up better!
I've also been using flurry since launch, though without RF mixed in. Icy Alchemist is cracked too with Pen grieves, It procs a shocking amount for a lucky hit aspect.
started a new rogue last night and leveling as Flurry currently, planning on transitioning into flurry & RF and having A TON of fun. So glad this build came out today!
Ah i wrote my comment before reading this! Combining the dash/smoke grenade throw aspect with frostbitten aspect allows you to engage and insta freeze packs if you have penitent greaves. It does miracles and adds insane amounts of damage too!
I self discovered a build very similar to this, except instead of rapid fire I used poison imbuement to increase attack speed and rolled on some good poison buffing gear that drops the pool of poison that resets poison imbuement. Couple that with the armor buff piece, 20% reduction from using basic attack, and all the self healing, and you're basically invincible while attacking.
That's not even close to as good as this build because a fully buffed + poison Flurry doesn't compare to a Rapid Fire with full Combo Points + Condemnation.
I tried his trap to setup at the start and really hated it. It was absolutely terrible if you messed up the rotation or the mobs were moving and you missed the trap. I dropped his crap trap setup and went double imbuement with a generator and never looked back. Insane single target dps with poison (I take down bosses in less than 5 seconds usually, which is faster than this video) room clearing with shadow and the resource cost is low enough your almost always in uptime with tb. Just because their max roll doesn't mean their shit don't stink. Use their template and then branch off for what you wanna do.
twisting blades was fun for about an hour then it became tedious as hell. Traps are boring too. Being solely melee is not fun either, give me a little range any day
This makes me happy. Normally, I fret over whether or not my builds for various games are worthwhile. This is my exact build. As someone who tends to play solo, I wanted to be able to clear trash but have solid single target damage for bosses, or just some random monster that I don't want to run down.
I tried your build today on my level 49 Rogue and it has allowed me to stay alive and regen mana against hordes of enemies. I have a lot more confidence playing now, thank you!
One tip is to put the flurry aspect on the gloves since the gloves are specific to flurry anyway. That way the ring can be reused for another build. Great video as always. Every time I follow one of your builds, you come out with another one and I’m like goddamit Wudijo! Lol
I've done your twisting blades build, which was strong but I didn't enjoy the playstyle, then your barrage build which I switched from because of resource issues and a major bug that still exists today where the awakened altar after a nightmare dungeon doesn't appear if you're last hit is with barrage, and now I'm on this flurry + rapid fire build. I finally am enjoying diablo 4 to the fullest and am actually looking forward to enjoying playing rather than just grinding. Thanks so much for all that you do for the diablo community!
I'm doing a variant of this that takes out shadow step for cold imbue. You can get easy CC with cold imbue and flurry, for puncture/energy. And you have twice as much imbuement. Also changed my stats and gear a little to favour imbue crit damage. You don't need much investment at all for cold imbue to be effective, I just have one point in the first, one point into the secondary effect and that's it. It does way more damage because of my imbue crit modifiers.
How do you sort out your defense? I switch over but feel so squishy its insane. Although I'm in that terrible transition period of starting to do wt4 for better drop but not getting anything and getting fucked by the wt4 damage =\
@@RexZShadow i run a shield passive aspect aswell, and there are many defence legendarys aspect in this build but you have to trigger them (like doing basic attack for 20 % dmg reduction or jump into a many enemies and doing one quick furry for bonus amor and get out with dash if there are to many elites)
How are you managing to not stay chain CC'd? I respecced from TB at 90, and after I use shadow step once, I just get immediately CC'd again and perma chained.

I have used flurry and rapid fire from the start. awesome crowd damage and massive single target damage. I was lucky enough to find a +3 flurry and +3 rapid fire gloves earlyish
i started a new rogue just to try this build and it's so fun, having the AoE as well as the burst single target is so nice. I made it to nightmare in one sitting I couldn't stop.
Also try the Rapid Fire / Rain of Arrows double imbuement build. It's easy, not overly technical and only requires one Aspect which can be obtained from a dungeon. First, Flurry isn't optimal AoE here, and takes you away from Vulnerable / Trap / Victimize / Imbuement synergy. Probably the highest single DPS and mob AoE burst right now is this build: Skills are Rapid Fire / Shadow Imb / Poison Imb / Your Choice of Unstoppable / Rain of Arrows / Poison Trap. Word of Hakan is pretty much the only Unique required to make Rain of Arrows work as it applies ALL the imbuements to everything, but it can be substituted out for Shadow Storm ult if you lack the Unique. The idea is to stack Victimize key passive with Vulnerability sources (of which there are PLENTY of in Rogue tree and glyphs) along with follow up on poison imbuement with Toxic Alchemist aspect so now poisoned enemies also explode. Everything daisy chains and synergizes and more become vulnerable and more explode. Stack crit damage on poisoned and vulnerable enemies and stand in a Alchemist pool with unlimited poison imbuements for maximum single target damage in the same build. This build melts everything, mobs or single. Also use "Improved Rapid Fire" to basically cast it for free like a machine gun.
I switched from TB Rogue this week to this build and I have got to say, it is a much more pleasing build to play and it is every bit as viable. More so as a groups elite hunter or against world bosses. Thanks for sharing!
This was the build I started with on release. I decided I'd go against the early guides (which pushed for twisting blades) because I just liked the combo so much. Glad to see I can get to end game with it.
I like Flurry with Shadow Imbuement explosion, so satisfying. Instead of Rapid Fire I use Poison Imbuement for single target and for Elites. Just stepped in T4 around level 68 here.
I run rapid fire on my build since the very beginning. it is so strong in ST. combined with shadow/poison imbument and Penetrating shot for AoE clear, I play a pure Marksman Rogue and it's realy fun. and Fun to me is more importaned than anything else ;)
I leveled flurry up to about 35, then switched to TB to finish out the campaign. Once that was done, I started gearing for barrage/trap build and have stuck with that since I hit about 55-60. I'm having much more fun playing that close combat ranged build. I thought about rapid fire but have had too much fun with barrage. I'm really loving that for the rogue at least, it seems like just bout every core skill is viable as long as you've got the aspects. You can really build the rogue to fit your style of play.
Rapid + Pen so good. Love to see more rogues are playing this way. IDK why the game doesn't want you to be ranged but we found a way lol. Now i just gotta get my minion necro to work. Imma do it but idk how lol Its kinda funny to think about builds that would be so good with two core skills but the community refuses to consider having two on the bar. Great build, I'm finding Improved Flurry + Siphoning Strikes quite nice for early game as you stated. Super easy to Perma heal while standing still 90% of the time. All the dmg with virtually no squish.
Did you follow this really close or did you make your own build? I feel like siphoning strike is a waste right now because of the nerf. You gain most of your healing just from flurry
@@PoohOnYourShoe Pretty much my own especially with aspects. I have vengeful, wind striker dagger and smiting that all increase crit chance in some way. I also have stolen vigor. I originally tried flurry with the 1% heal by itself on my very first 10 levels and didn't feel it healed much. I later added siphoning (before S.V.) after trying other YT meta builds then going back to flurry. It may be nerfed but it's still good. Try it, I think you'll notice a difference. I did.
I love this. It’s a more “accessible” rogue build for us druids who have been one button smashing pulverize for so long and trying to hit enemies with the return twisting blades was feeling too complicated 😂
@@R1ckJames compared to “bear go smash rawr” it’s 1000x more work to actually hit a target with TB and then ensure enemies are between you and that target when the blades return to you.
I play tornado druid, it's even simpler than pulverize. Pulverize you have to aim the shockwave, while tornado finds target automatically. I tried rogue yesterday, I can't even understand how twisting blades work. I didn't see any returning blades. Anyway it's so confusing I went right back playing druid. BTW tornado druid doesn't have to worry about resource. Tornado cost 0 spirit with the lego, all I need to do is spam tornados.
@@R1ckJames yes it is easy but when pushing Nightmare Tier levels, that 1.5sec of no blades spinning is VERY DANGEROUS, that is 1.5sec of no dmg output to heal which means no CC on enemies to reduce their dmg and a whole lot of extra stuff
With shadow imbuement and 90% ricochet chance, rapid fire deletes packs anyways. The aoe stun from flurry is what makes the combo of both skills so good together imo
Rapid fire, even with ricochets, feels a bit bad in thick packs that have suppressor or champions. Aoe is so much better for dealing with champions it’s goofy
I started my hardcore run with a rogue and had fun at a distance with very few close calls. I am LV 30 and kept rapid fire but I use the 3 blade edition of puncture now to proc vulnerable then go rapid BRRR with either a shadow imbue vs mobs or poison vs elites and I’m truly melting everything that I find. It’s absolutely hilarious and fun! Not even using my ultimates at all, thinking of adding in cold imbue instead since I’m set to always be generating energy for rapid fire.
I'm a sucker for rapid fire and would most certainly be running a super strong rapid fire build if only the legendary aspect was in the codex. However since it isnt ive been using a build 95% alike to this one, found it not only best in terms of leveling, but also in every stage of the end game.. and in fun.. Flawless guide!
@hawleyfromhell I have 2 rogues in their 70s and have gotten like 1 drop ever. Unlucky maybe, but still think all core skills should have their respective aspect in the codex to imprint.
What do you mean? As a rogue, I'm usually jealous of how interesting and diverse sorcs can be! Although, I've made every class and sorc is the only one I've kinda leveled (not quite to 60) and it seems like there's so much to explore, especially with enchantments. I'm using this build (with a few changes) and being currently at level 60 I'm doing pretty fine with nightmare dungeons and elites after the last patch. Going to try the level 70+ capstone dungeon later in the afternoon and will let you know.
Thanks for the amazing Build. I never liked twisting blades and I already played with flurry. I changed the Setup a little bit: I replaced Dash with Caltrops. Caltrops slows the enemies down, raises the damages and chills/freezes the enemies, too.
This is the build I’m using with the Barber and increase crits by 80% hearts and it slays. Was lucky to find a perfectly rolled Condemnation. Level 90 now and have not problem instakilling mobs 30 levels above me. I use ice imbuement rather than shadow, to one-shot bosses. The chill damage from the Greaves helps boost it. Frozen and chilled both count as chill crowd control effects to boost overall damage. Recently managed to get a pair of GG gloves with +4 to Flurry and Rapid Fire, along with Attack Speed and Crit Chance, and an amulet with 3+ ranks of the Exploit passive, so the DPS output is just stupefying.
About time you guys started doing the rapid fire/dual core rogue stuff. Penetrating shot with poison instead of flurry and shadow is pretty good too as a match with rapid fire.
I just finished an extremely similar build, almost identical all 6 skills besides Pen Shot instead of Flurry. I also used Rapid Fire as the ultimate solution for single targets, with perfectly rolled +3 gloves for both skills
@@R1ckJames I would argue that pen shot yields similar results as I also run a similar build as OP. Pen shot with shadow imbue is one of the most effective screen clears for multiple mobs and can be done at a distance. The biggest difference besides core skills would be that you would take the precision ultimate passive since all of your abilities would be marksman skills.

Puncture with Vulnerable 360 Flurry 360 Spinnining Twisting Blades Shadow Step Dash Shadow Clone as Ultimate Momentum with an armor aspect that gives 70 healing per second for every stack of Momentum and then bonus healing for every close enemy Unkillable. Just soloed the Butcher in my first Dungeon on Nightmare and I just stood in his face and spammed skills until he was dead.
I knew build diversity would grow as people actually got to have lots of time with the game. With how much has been learned about the Rogue, how do you think Penetrating Shot stacks up against these new builds that you're discovering? Is it still about on par or close to it? Or has pen shot fallen?
The truth is that twisting blades is still by far the best and fastest build for rogue, at least up to ND level 60. Above it is tough for everyone, melee or ranged
@@Kriddle1229 But if you regret switching you have to find all the same aspect-powers again, and reroll the stats back to the "old" stats. And THAT'S expensive and time consuming.
im about to try this. My issue with playing ranged is its boring compared to melee rogue. This is the best of both worlds. **Update** This build is one of the most fun ive had on rogue so far. It took a little to get used to but the mix of close and distance is great. My only gripe with it is, as I play on controller you cannot target elites that are surrounded by a pack first, I guess thats why he explains "knowing when to use flurry versus rapid fire". Mouce & Board has an easier time targeting specific targets I suppose. NJ with the build and thanks!
Flurry is my favorite skill, perma invulnerability uptime, 360 aoe, multihit, best base dmg for all core skills. If you run it with death trap + poison imbue i never have any issues with single target. Just yesterday I was clearing nm 40+ (level 88 monsters) with a level 65

Yea I would love to see the skill point progression from 1-50, or at the very least the planner could have a slide for changing the levels like other planners do. Its easy to copy paste, but I always have a hard time figuring out the priorities while leveling.
one issue i found with this build compared to most other rogue builds is that you need good base dps on both melee and ranged weapon whereas other builds you only need to focus on one style with the other just being a substat stick. it makes it harder to not only find 3 weapons with good substats (or 2 with condemnation) but then also for those to be 800~ rolls
U use flurry almost all the time i would not care much about the ranged DPS cuz it will out perform any skill with ez when it comes to singel target dmg
I joined your discord just to get this build and have found renewed interesting in living up my rogue now! I'm using fists of fate on the build due to the really high rolls I received for the chance to daze and immobilize. It's amazing how often I daze or immobilize the enemies with these gloves.
Going to try build out this weekend. Lvl 69, been using Shadow embue,Shadow step, caltrops, poison trap, rapid shot and the single shot basic. Wt4 has been rough.
@wudijo Can this be a starting leveling build? On your flurry leveling guide you were recommending poison imbuement for better single target dmg, but this version seems resolving single target dmg problem in much interesting (and stronger) way. Did anyone tried exactly same skill choice for leveling?
I tested your early flurry build with poison imbuement, smoke granage and poison traps. Up to level 40 it was fantastic but was struggling to clear big bosses or strongholds towards level 40+. After switching to this build it's much better now but had to get used to completely different mechanics. It's not that easy, im rapid firing to completely different dirrections than bosses are but eventually kill them. Thanks for all info.
I struggle to understand why you haven't updated this guide yet. When you click on the link it still uses siphoning strikes for example even though that was nerfed to the ground. I mean i assume you wouldn't use that now. Maxroll guides for d4 are incredibly underwhelming overall. None of them get updated until weeks later and a lot of them are really bad too

I also feel every build get called meta just to generate views... it get kinda annoying since the dmg difference is probably not even 5% to the last meta build posted yesterday. And since Diablo4 does such a terrible job for the average player to acquire end game gear that matters (800+ gearscore) I'm not gonna watch those videos anymore until season one hits.

Having watched Wudi play this the last week and seeing it in the video here, honestly the flurry build just looks demonstrably worse. But I could be wrong.
The sheer volume of gloves I binned while playing barrage that had both rapid fire and flurry on them can not be counted by any device man has conceived and now that I want to try this I can't find a thing. It's like this game peers into my thoughts to troll me.
Getting tired of these youtube names. Every single build that d4 creaters share, they label META. One of the most META rogue builds is poison imbue and thats not even on maxroll.
(Edit: Gave up trying to add X-Falls ring as bad idea.) Am level 90 and using Smoke Grenade instead of Shadow Inbuement. Instead of Smoke Grenade, I put 3 points into Agile and 1 into Rapid Gambit. I find it much easier to play effectively. Dash is too useful as an escape to drop. Have Tibaults, Godslayer and Condemnation. Using your 225 paragon board plan. Great fun. Thank you.
I was planning to respec to this build today from Deathtrap. Am also level 86. I also seem to still have a good pair of gloves, pertinent greaves and Condemnation to make it work. Will be the first time to respec for me. I have to admit I had a ton of fun with deathtrap so far but now the time for trying something else out has come.
@@justinbarton2278 I was super hyped to see that I had kept those in my stash. They have crit chance, attack speed and rapid fire 4 and currently a flurry 3 which I am rerolling to eventually get +4. But damn that rerolling is getting out of hand fast in terms of cost. ;-)

i made this build naturally playing through my rouge, only difference is i use frost imbuement and shadow clone ultimate also the aspect that spreads crowd control effects combined with the unique frost gauntlets spreads frozen like CRAZY when you have high attack speed
Holy cow. I created a new rogue before switching the skills on my current one. Liked it so much I switched skills on my lvl 46 Rogue that was a twisting blades. So much cleaner and easier to play. Can't wait to find the correct armor since I have ranks for Twisting blades on the chest and bow.
Im doing a interesting 2 core 2 imbue build. Shadow and pen shot for 1 shotting packs, never gets old. And rapid fire + poison for insane single target dps. I also like concealment for the guaranteed crit, it proc on all 8 rapid fire arrows not sure if that a bug or intended mechanic but stacked with the RF Upgrade for more crit damage after dodging i drain a bosses entire health bar in 2 casts
Only lv 58 but I switched to this build from death trap and I have to say it’s a lot of fun. Gameplay feels quicker as well and I’m obviously still miles off from completing the paragon board or getting all items.

@@77rockcity oh save it. Go play Diablo 2 if you want your choices to "matter". By excluding some sort of load out swapping system it encourages players to make no choices at all. You pick what your build says and then never swap. With loadouts you have the freedom to make choices and not be punished (besides the gold cost) for doing so.
I plugged rapid fire into my existing build based on this video and I'm loving it. It's not just helpful against bosses and solo elites, it's amazing for killing the most annoying monsters in the entire game: the wasps.
For those who are struggling to find good gloves that add to both core skills, I wanted to suggest grasp of shadow. It can add 3 to all core skills (1 less than you can roll on gear) but comes with attack speed and vulnerable. You did give up an aspect slot but just wanted to share. Double skill gloves are hard to get quickly.
That's the one with the shadow mimic lucky hit? Got that today, gave up on another pair with flurry I had for this since it's been more useful on my shadow + flurry build and defense. Can't fail having a lucky shadow pop up and second flurry crit lol

I love these, I actually run them on my rapid fire shadow imbue build and actually added the shadow clone ult and using the imbuement ring that gives the shadow clone matching imbuement, tldr; explosions, explosions explosions! So much fun
This...I've gotten a bunch but after hitting WT4 I haven't found any :( I use flurry but poison. But before I was doing rapid fire...and with Grasp of Shadow, Shadow Clone Ult, the the aspect where clones copy imbuements...it MELTS bosses
I've tried them and they're honestly really bad compared to max crit and max attack speed gloves, even if you spec into shadow clone on the skills page.
This build is genuinely incredible. I usually love running Preparation but this build makes Combo Points shine. It fixed all of the resource and cooldown issues with my rapid fire build (no exploit glyph yet) by adding in my favorite melee ability - Flurry. I also love all the built in CC with dodge and Mangler's. It just feels like so many different things come together with this build. Pretty wild!

You're definitely my most favourite D4 Streamer. No bla bla, just great info and very likable presentation. And this build combines what i wanted to try and build myself anyway: A kind of hybrid build that still does feel rogue-style (even though it's 95% flurry ;)).
I was trying to create a build without basic skills but I guess i made the mistake of going Flurry as only main damage skill. My last set-up was: Concealment, Shadow Step, Shadow Imbuement, Flurry, Shadow Clone, Dark Shroud. Basically maxing out Crit Chance and Damage. The energy management was only possible with all energy related skills and +energy aspects. It probably doesn't work the way I tried it. I basically ran out of energy facing sturdy elites or bosses, i.e. when there weren't lots of mobs around. I am only lvl72 and screwed up my Paragon board, no glyph at lvl15 yet - i.e.my dmg output is not great yet either. I might still give it a try but feel like using your build instead for a while :)
But maybe you have a non-basic skill build available or would like to come up with one? I'd greatly appreciate to get inspired!

If you take 1 point out of dex in the cunning strategem board directly left of the glyph socket it doesn't effect any bonuses and you can put that point in +5% damage on 1st board.
*I don't remember this being mentioned, but you can also use the legendary Adventurer's Gloves of Quickening Fog to get a Smoke Grenade Daze at the end of Dash that also synergizes with the Concussive, Trick Attacks, and Rapid Gambits passives.*
*Smoke Grenade by itself Dazes for 4 seconds which is 2 seconds longer than using Disciplined Dash. If you use these gloves you can choose Methodical Dash to reduce the cooldown time of Dash instead of using Disciplined Dash since you are already dazing enemies without needing the Shadowslicer gloves.*
*The only downside to doing this is that the Daze effect is only applied to the area at the end of Dash instead of the entire distance of Dash which the Shadowslicer gloves paired with the Disciplined Dash passive does. So you sacrifice effect distance for a longer Daze time which results in more Knock Down time from getting crits. This is very helpful if you don't kill quickly.*
*The last thing to mention is that the Aspect of the gloves also give Cooldown Reduction for each enemy Dazed with the Smoke Grenade at the end of Dash. So that paired with Methodical Dash as mentioned earlier, gives an extra second or more of CD reduction for Dash.*
*The gloves I have have CD reduction up to 1.05 seconds. I am sure it can go up higher, but I'm not sure how much higher since this is my first time dropping these gloves.*
I have started running this build with Temerity leggings, and replaced Expectant with Conceited. Temerity is constantly popping up barrier and Conceited gives 25% dmg with barrier. I rarely even glance at health anymore as Flurry's healing keeps up barrier almost non-stop. Also added Icy Alchemist to sword to cause explosive dmg and spread chill.
Once again I'm so glad you landed here. This was the build I explored and stuck with since beta. For fun and some additional cc, you should try using Icy Alchemist's Aspect. The frost explosions seem to proc alot and can even freeze whole packs if u get the jump on em. I'm using Dark Shroud instead of dash to help me push higher tier NM dungeons as it helps me get in and survive a bit longer. I might have to try the dash daze to help me set up better!
I've also been using flurry since launch, though without RF mixed in.
Icy Alchemist is cracked too with Pen grieves, It procs a shocking amount for a lucky hit aspect.
started a new rogue last night and leveling as Flurry currently, planning on transitioning into flurry & RF and having A TON of fun. So glad this build came out today!
Ah i wrote my comment before reading this! Combining the dash/smoke grenade throw aspect with frostbitten aspect allows you to engage and insta freeze packs if you have penitent greaves. It does miracles and adds insane amounts of damage too!

Finally, someone not running a "Twisted Blades Build" I run Flurry and its brilliant. It absolutely melts. Great video my guy!
I self discovered a build very similar to this, except instead of rapid fire I used poison imbuement to increase attack speed and rolled on some good poison buffing gear that drops the pool of poison that resets poison imbuement. Couple that with the armor buff piece, 20% reduction from using basic attack, and all the self healing, and you're basically invincible while attacking.
The build you’re describing is just playing Flurry and missing the key feature of the build described in this video.
That's not even close to as good as this build because a fully buffed + poison Flurry doesn't compare to a Rapid Fire with full Combo Points + Condemnation.
So much more fun than trap+twisting blades, especially against bosses. A+ build
I tried his trap to setup at the start and really hated it. It was absolutely terrible if you messed up the rotation or the mobs were moving and you missed the trap.
I dropped his crap trap setup and went double imbuement with a generator and never looked back. Insane single target dps with poison (I take down bosses in less than 5 seconds usually, which is faster than this video) room clearing with shadow and the resource cost is low enough your almost always in uptime with tb.
Just because their max roll doesn't mean their shit don't stink. Use their template and then branch off for what you wanna do.

twisting blades was fun for about an hour then it became tedious as hell. Traps are boring too. Being solely melee is not fun either, give me a little range any day
This makes me happy. Normally, I fret over whether or not my builds for various games are worthwhile. This is my exact build. As someone who tends to play solo, I wanted to be able to clear trash but have solid single target damage for bosses, or just some random monster that I don't want to run down.
I tried your build today on my level 49 Rogue and it has allowed me to stay alive and regen mana against hordes of enemies. I have a lot more confidence playing now, thank you!
One tip is to put the flurry aspect on the gloves since the gloves are specific to flurry anyway. That way the ring can be reused for another build. Great video as always. Every time I follow one of your builds, you come out with another one and I’m like goddamit Wudijo! Lol

I've done your twisting blades build, which was strong but I didn't enjoy the playstyle, then your barrage build which I switched from because of resource issues and a major bug that still exists today where the awakened altar after a nightmare dungeon doesn't appear if you're last hit is with barrage, and now I'm on this flurry + rapid fire build. I finally am enjoying diablo 4 to the fullest and am actually looking forward to enjoying playing rather than just grinding. Thanks so much for all that you do for the diablo community!
I'm doing a variant of this that takes out shadow step for cold imbue. You can get easy CC with cold imbue and flurry, for puncture/energy. And you have twice as much imbuement. Also changed my stats and gear a little to favour imbue crit damage. You don't need much investment at all for cold imbue to be effective, I just have one point in the first, one point into the secondary effect and that's it. It does way more damage because of my imbue crit modifiers.

@@RexZShadow i run a shield passive aspect aswell, and there are many defence legendarys aspect in this build but you have to trigger them (like doing basic attack for 20 % dmg reduction or jump into a many enemies and doing one quick furry for bonus amor and get out with dash if there are to many elites)
How are you managing to not stay chain CC'd? I respecced from TB at 90, and after I use shadow step once, I just get immediately CC'd again and perma chained.

samn! Juat found gloves that give +4 to flurry and +4 to rapid fire. This build is really slayin' now! other affixe are 54 dex and 8.5 crit chance.
I have used flurry and rapid fire from the start. awesome crowd damage and massive single target damage. I was lucky enough to find a +3 flurry and +3 rapid fire gloves earlyish

i started a new rogue just to try this build and it's so fun, having the AoE as well as the burst single target is so nice. I made it to nightmare in one sitting I couldn't stop.

Also try the Rapid Fire / Rain of Arrows double imbuement build. It's easy, not overly technical and only requires one Aspect which can be obtained from a dungeon. First, Flurry isn't optimal AoE here, and takes you away from Vulnerable / Trap / Victimize / Imbuement synergy. Probably the highest single DPS and mob AoE burst right now is this build: Skills are Rapid Fire / Shadow Imb / Poison Imb / Your Choice of Unstoppable / Rain of Arrows / Poison Trap. Word of Hakan is pretty much the only Unique required to make Rain of Arrows work as it applies ALL the imbuements to everything, but it can be substituted out for Shadow Storm ult if you lack the Unique. The idea is to stack Victimize key passive with Vulnerability sources (of which there are PLENTY of in Rogue tree and glyphs) along with follow up on poison imbuement with Toxic Alchemist aspect so now poisoned enemies also explode. Everything daisy chains and synergizes and more become vulnerable and more explode. Stack crit damage on poisoned and vulnerable enemies and stand in a Alchemist pool with unlimited poison imbuements for maximum single target damage in the same build. This build melts everything, mobs or single. Also use "Improved Rapid Fire" to basically cast it for free like a machine gun.

I switched from TB Rogue this week to this build and I have got to say, it is a much more pleasing build to play and it is every bit as viable. More so as a groups elite hunter or against world bosses. Thanks for sharing!
This was the build I started with on release. I decided I'd go against the early guides (which pushed for twisting blades) because I just liked the combo so much. Glad to see I can get to end game with it.

I like Flurry with Shadow Imbuement explosion, so satisfying. Instead of Rapid Fire I use Poison Imbuement for single target and for Elites. Just stepped in T4 around level 68 here.
I run rapid fire on my build since the very beginning. it is so strong in ST. combined with shadow/poison imbument and Penetrating shot for AoE clear, I play a pure Marksman Rogue and it's realy fun. and Fun to me is more importaned than anything else ;)

I leveled flurry up to about 35, then switched to TB to finish out the campaign. Once that was done, I started gearing for barrage/trap build and have stuck with that since I hit about 55-60. I'm having much more fun playing that close combat ranged build. I thought about rapid fire but have had too much fun with barrage.
I'm really loving that for the rogue at least, it seems like just bout every core skill is viable as long as you've got the aspects. You can really build the rogue to fit your style of play.

Great build, I'm finding Improved Flurry + Siphoning Strikes quite nice for early game as you stated. Super easy to Perma heal while standing still 90% of the time. All the dmg with virtually no squish.
Did you follow this really close or did you make your own build? I feel like siphoning strike is a waste right now because of the nerf. You gain most of your healing just from flurry
@@PoohOnYourShoe Pretty much my own especially with aspects. I have vengeful, wind striker dagger and smiting that all increase crit chance in some way. I also have stolen vigor. I originally tried flurry with the 1% heal by itself on my very first 10 levels and didn't feel it healed much. I later added siphoning (before S.V.) after trying other YT meta builds then going back to flurry. It may be nerfed but it's still good. Try it, I think you'll notice a difference. I did.

I love this. It’s a more “accessible” rogue build for us druids who have been one button smashing pulverize for so long and trying to hit enemies with the return twisting blades was feeling too complicated 😂

@@R1ckJames compared to “bear go smash rawr” it’s 1000x more work to actually hit a target with TB and then ensure enemies are between you and that target when the blades return to you.
I play tornado druid, it's even simpler than pulverize. Pulverize you have to aim the shockwave, while tornado finds target automatically. I tried rogue yesterday, I can't even understand how twisting blades work. I didn't see any returning blades. Anyway it's so confusing I went right back playing druid. BTW tornado druid doesn't have to worry about resource. Tornado cost 0 spirit with the lego, all I need to do is spam tornados.
@@R1ckJames yes it is easy but when pushing Nightmare Tier levels, that 1.5sec of no blades spinning is VERY DANGEROUS, that is 1.5sec of no dmg output to heal which means no CC on enemies to reduce their dmg and a whole lot of extra stuff
With shadow imbuement and 90% ricochet chance, rapid fire deletes packs anyways. The aoe stun from flurry is what makes the combo of both skills so good together imo
Rapid fire, even with ricochets, feels a bit bad in thick packs that have suppressor or champions. Aoe is so much better for dealing with champions it’s goofy
I started my hardcore run with a rogue and had fun at a distance with very few close calls. I am LV 30 and kept rapid fire but I use the 3 blade edition of puncture now to proc vulnerable then go rapid BRRR with either a shadow imbue vs mobs or poison vs elites and I’m truly melting everything that I find. It’s absolutely hilarious and fun! Not even using my ultimates at all, thinking of adding in cold imbue instead since I’m set to always be generating energy for rapid fire.
I'm a sucker for rapid fire and would most certainly be running a super strong rapid fire build if only the legendary aspect was in the codex. However since it isnt ive been using a build 95% alike to this one, found it not only best in terms of leveling, but also in every stage of the end game.. and in fun.. Flawless guide!

@hawleyfromhell I have 2 rogues in their 70s and have gotten like 1 drop ever. Unlucky maybe, but still think all core skills should have their respective aspect in the codex to imprint.

I'm using this build (with a few changes) and being currently at level 60 I'm doing pretty fine with nightmare dungeons and elites after the last patch. Going to try the level 70+ capstone dungeon later in the afternoon and will let you know.
Ok, still me: I did the capstone dungeon and even if I got killed many times I managed to get through it at level 60. This build still has it.
Thanks for the amazing Build. I never liked twisting blades and I already played with flurry. I changed the Setup a little bit: I replaced Dash with Caltrops. Caltrops slows the enemies down, raises the damages and chills/freezes the enemies, too.
This is the build I’m using with the Barber and increase crits by 80% hearts and it slays. Was lucky to find a perfectly rolled Condemnation. Level 90 now and have not problem instakilling mobs 30 levels above me. I use ice imbuement rather than shadow, to one-shot bosses. The chill damage from the Greaves helps boost it. Frozen and chilled both count as chill crowd control effects to boost overall damage.
Recently managed to get a pair of GG gloves with +4 to Flurry and Rapid Fire, along with Attack Speed and Crit Chance, and an amulet with 3+ ranks of the Exploit passive, so the DPS output is just stupefying.
About time you guys started doing the rapid fire/dual core rogue stuff. Penetrating shot with poison instead of flurry and shadow is pretty good too as a match with rapid fire.

I just finished an extremely similar build, almost identical all 6 skills besides Pen Shot instead of Flurry. I also used Rapid Fire as the ultimate solution for single targets, with perfectly rolled +3 gloves for both skills
Flurry is the entire point of this build, pen shot would yield an entirely diff result
@@R1ckJames I would argue that pen shot yields similar results as I also run a similar build as OP. Pen shot with shadow imbue is one of the most effective screen clears for multiple mobs and can be done at a distance. The biggest difference besides core skills would be that you would take the precision ultimate passive since all of your abilities would be marksman skills.

Unkillable. Just soloed the Butcher in my first Dungeon on Nightmare and I just stood in his face and spammed skills until he was dead.
I knew build diversity would grow as people actually got to have lots of time with the game. With how much has been learned about the Rogue, how do you think Penetrating Shot stacks up against these new builds that you're discovering? Is it still about on par or close to it? Or has pen shot fallen?
Now if only we could easily change builds to actually make use of all those builds....
flurry is better inside dungeon but not for open world stuff
The truth is that twisting blades is still by far the best and fastest build for rogue, at least up to ND level 60. Above it is tough for everyone, melee or ranged

@@Kriddle1229 But if you regret switching you have to find all the same aspect-powers again, and reroll the stats back to the "old" stats. And THAT'S expensive and time consuming.
im about to try this. My issue with playing ranged is its boring compared to melee rogue. This is the best of both worlds.
**Update** This build is one of the most fun ive had on rogue so far. It took a little to get used to but the mix of close and distance is great. My only gripe with it is, as I play on controller you cannot target elites that are surrounded by a pack first, I guess thats why he explains "knowing when to use flurry versus rapid fire". Mouce & Board has an easier time targeting specific targets I suppose.

Flurry is my favorite skill, perma invulnerability uptime, 360 aoe, multihit, best base dmg for all core skills. If you run it with death trap + poison imbue i never have any issues with single target. Just yesterday I was clearing nm 40+ (level 88 monsters) with a level 65

Yea I would love to see the skill point progression from 1-50, or at the very least the planner could have a slide for changing the levels like other planners do. Its easy to copy paste, but I always have a hard time figuring out the priorities while leveling.
one issue i found with this build compared to most other rogue builds is that you need good base dps on both melee and ranged weapon whereas other builds you only need to focus on one style with the other just being a substat stick.
it makes it harder to not only find 3 weapons with good substats (or 2 with condemnation) but then also for those to be 800~ rolls
U use flurry almost all the time i would not care much about the ranged DPS cuz it will out perform any skill with ez when it comes to singel target dmg
800 rolls are hard regardless im lvl 90 rf only and i still havent found a good 800+ crossbow 🤦♂️
So vulnerable, dmg to close, core dmg, dmg to cc Shadow step in. then Shadow imb + evade then press rf is enough dmg without worrying about ranged dmg

I joined your discord just to get this build and have found renewed interesting in living up my rogue now! I'm using fists of fate on the build due to the really high rolls I received for the chance to daze and immobilize. It's amazing how often I daze or immobilize the enemies with these gloves.
Going to try build out this weekend. Lvl 69, been using Shadow embue,Shadow step, caltrops, poison trap, rapid shot and the single shot basic. Wt4 has been rough.
Just changed to this yesterday and I’m so addicted, such a fun build! Reallly feels like a rogue
@wudijo Can this be a starting leveling build? On your flurry leveling guide you were recommending poison imbuement for better single target dmg, but this version seems resolving single target dmg problem in much interesting (and stronger) way. Did anyone tried exactly same skill choice for leveling?
Is the barrage + death trap build still any good?
I tested your early flurry build with poison imbuement, smoke granage and poison traps. Up to level 40 it was fantastic but was struggling to clear big bosses or strongholds towards level 40+. After switching to this build it's much better now but had to get used to completely different mechanics. It's not that easy, im rapid firing to completely different dirrections than bosses are but eventually kill them. Thanks for all info.

I struggle to understand why you haven't updated this guide yet. When you click on the link it still uses siphoning strikes for example even though that was nerfed to the ground. I mean i assume you wouldn't use that now. Maxroll guides for d4 are incredibly underwhelming overall. None of them get updated until weeks later and a lot of them are really bad too

That should show how this game is better then the other diablos in this aspect. There are so many viable builds.
I also feel every build get called meta just to generate views... it get kinda annoying since the dmg difference is probably not even 5% to the last meta build posted yesterday. And since Diablo4 does such a terrible job for the average player to acquire end game gear that matters (800+ gearscore) I'm not gonna watch those videos anymore until season one hits.

It was great build before S1... hope still will be ok after those nerfs.... definitely less damage and defence...

Having watched Wudi play this the last week and seeing it in the video here, honestly the flurry build just looks demonstrably worse. But I could be wrong.
Bro all your build is nice and all but they not tested on pushing highter Tier NMs.. u always show it below tier 50 lmao

The sheer volume of gloves I binned while playing barrage that had both rapid fire and flurry on them can not be counted by any device man has conceived and now that I want to try this I can't find a thing. It's like this game peers into my thoughts to troll me.
I copied same setup but after awhile, dropped Dash for Cold Imbue. Less mobility, but more damage since we have so many +damage to chill/freeze mods

Getting tired of these youtube names. Every single build that d4 creaters share, they label META. One of the most META rogue builds is poison imbue and thats not even on maxroll.
That’s true, seems that Blades + Poison imbue build is the only option if you want to push at least NM80+
What really convinced me is seeing you having so much fun playing that build on your streams. Fun is highliy underrated when people rank class builds
I just do Shadow/Cold Infused Barrage build from Maxroll, it's fun
(Edit: Gave up trying to add X-Falls ring as bad idea.) Am level 90 and using Smoke Grenade instead of Shadow Inbuement. Instead of Smoke Grenade, I put 3 points into Agile and 1 into Rapid Gambit. I find it much easier to play effectively. Dash is too useful as an escape to drop. Have Tibaults, Godslayer and Condemnation. Using your 225 paragon board plan. Great fun. Thank you.

This build is really fun. Been rocking it since this morning l, currently 86 rogue. Perfect combo of good aoe and single target for deleting bosses.
I was planning to respec to this build today from Deathtrap. Am also level 86. I also seem to still have a good pair of gloves, pertinent greaves and Condemnation to make it work. Will be the first time to respec for me. I have to admit I had a ton of fun with deathtrap so far but now the time for trying something else out has come.
@@macces82 I respected from death trap. Finding gloves that give you +4 to flurry and rapid fire is awesome. You will melt everything.
@@justinbarton2278 I was super hyped to see that I had kept those in my stash. They have crit chance, attack speed and rapid fire 4 and currently a flurry 3 which I am rerolling to eventually get +4. But damn that rerolling is getting out of hand fast in terms of cost. ;-)

How are you managing to not stay chain CC'd? I respecced from TB at 90, and after I use shadow step once, I just get immediately CC'd again and perma chained.

i made this build naturally playing through my rouge, only difference is i use frost imbuement and shadow clone ultimate
also the aspect that spreads crowd control effects combined with the unique frost gauntlets spreads frozen like CRAZY when you have high attack speed

just want load out saves, i want to be able to swap builds with ease with 1 click all my skills and paragon boards switch
Holy cow. I created a new rogue before switching the skills on my current one. Liked it so much I switched skills on my lvl 46 Rogue that was a twisting blades. So much cleaner and easier to play. Can't wait to find the correct armor since I have ranks for Twisting blades on the chest and bow.
Im doing a interesting 2 core 2 imbue build. Shadow and pen shot for 1 shotting packs, never gets old. And rapid fire + poison for insane single target dps. I also like concealment for the guaranteed crit, it proc on all 8 rapid fire arrows not sure if that a bug or intended mechanic but stacked with the RF Upgrade for more crit damage after dodging i drain a bosses entire health bar in 2 casts
Swapping poison for shadow clone was similar and added a 2nd unstoppable but the cd is simply too long

@@FiveDollar69 I have also started with almost the same, but with poison imbuement. I had the flurry aspect on my ring and just did not replace it

Only lv 58 but I switched to this build from death trap and I have to say it’s a lot of fun. Gameplay feels quicker as well and I’m obviously still miles off from completing the paragon board or getting all items.
On your planner I always have extra skills points and I follow exactly what you do and always end up with extra points

Keen to try this out as it doesn't look like it has the wind-up that Twisting Blades has, which can get a bit annoying.
