I think there is some interaction between orchids and poinsettia, one kills the other, or at least they don't thrive being near each other? Phalaenopsis primarily. Keep these separately.

Great tips. I but plants every year and try to plant them in my garden after Christmas but they all perish
Mine are still going strong! I do wonder if the new leaves turn red over time as they continue to grow.
