Wow! Thank you for info. I found 2 beautiful tall Pointsettas in Dec '22 outside of a dumpster. The price tag was still on them and they had cost $50 each!! I took them home and followed directions on UA-cam and it is now July 23 and they are thriving. Definitely did not over water them and put them in corner with no direct light in jan, feb ,march and mid april. Then put them on kitchen counter but no direct light. They look great and are now outside for the summer. Thank you for these clear instructions. One thing for sure, they do not like too much water. The plant lady knows all!❤
If you have drainage and are putting one pot into another you can actually put the stones in the bottom of the larger pot instead of the small pot. Thus leaving more room in the smaller pot for the plant to form new roots.
Thank you for this video! I received two of the most beautiful poinsettias I have ever seen. I was hoping there was a way to keep them. Your tutorial was very easy to watch and learn from. Even if they are a bit finicky to care for I’m I’m willing and excited to try it out. 🤞they will come back.
I received a LARGE poinsettia 2 1/2 ft. In my apartment I have other plants competing for light. After watching your video. I’m overwhelmed to think I won’t be able to care for this beautiful plant
They are REAL pain in the neck. Finicky doesn't even come close. I had 2 very nice poinsettia from Christmas 2022 that I was able to keep alive and relatively thriving until November 2023 when l put them in the dark for 16 hrs/day so they would sprout red leaves for Christmas. Sadly the spare water closet I put them in was too cold and they lost almost all their leaves. A few new red leaves have sprouted but my patience is wearing thin. They drop leaves so easily 😢
Great video! I used to leave my plant outside all year long in the UK and it was thriving. But again England doesn’t have much sun throughout the year, so that might be the reason. 🪴
I took mine out and repotted it in a large pot ( 20 inches). I didn't trim off the bracts yet. It's outdoors getting bright filtered light. I have another one ,so I will try your method. Thanks .
Thank you so much for the informative info. So surprised to learn about the light and temperature requirements. Will follow your instructions to have a full bloom next Xmas!
thank you missy! i had two poinsettias of diff species, one of them passed on already unfortunately so im gonna do my best to save this one!! appreciate it ❤❤
please try to increase humidity around plant and exclude and possible exposure to drafts. You can also talk to botanist experts in our app as ask them specific questions about your plant, and receive a very in depth custom solution to your problem 😊
My 4inch poinsettia has new green leaves and getting root bound should I repot it into a bigger pot now or wait until I prune it back when the leaves start falling off?
Can I ask, what happens if you didn't prune it in March? I have a Poinsettia that i've had since Xmas. It's been doing really well (first time ever) without me really touching it much, but now we are in June and it's getting very hot I noticed it looking a little more droppy so thought I would look into how to care for it and of course everyone says about pruning it back. Would it be too late to prune it now, in June? thanks :)

My plant still is blooming and healthy with new growth. It's June so I expected it to start being droopy and it is not. Should I cut it back anyway?

Hi! I'm new to planting. May I ask why repotting to smaller pot is necessary? Thanks! :)

Thats so great to hear! Hope the plants will give you a lot of joy next year
I originally searched for information if it was safe to have an LARGE Pointsettias in the bedroom
You will of course need a bigger box since the plant will have grown a lot and have lots of leaves.
Bottom is turning brown
You jumped from July to Sept.....what the heck happened to August?????
dam i thought orchids where hard lol
I pruned my poinsettas when you said a bunch of new leaves grew before fall....your vid shows no new leaves....you're vid is too confusing 😐
