That's what makes it memorable, it's how committed Patricia was to doing the physical comedy, she would've been in her 50s back then, alot of actors would've said no but she goes the extra mile and makes the show and her performance stand out.
@@Sandyzebs0616 yes I never thought about it but daisy is actually the only sane sister, she's a tragic romantic of course, there was the episode where she dressed in leather and paraded with a young biker man to make Onslow jealous but that's about the most extreme thing she ever does.
She was always so embarrassed by them and concerned by what other people would think of them and HER if they knew she was associated to them. But in reality, no one really minded them and thought they were cool people. 😂
I loved when the people she went so far out of her way to impress and whom she believed to be of the same calibre as she, turned out to be more like Daisy, Onslow & Rose.

Same here! I couldn't remember the name of the show, so I looked old British show Saturday night that aires on PBS, to no avail. One day this was on Netflix I fell in love with it all over again!
I like how she thought Mrs. Barker-Finch was staring out of her window for over 5 minutes when chances are she just shrugged and walked away right after getting Hyacinth's prank call.
I wish young Hyacinth had been picked up because her social climbing started when she was younger, she tried to be posh, she worked as a maid, but she tried to copy the mannerisms of her employers. Daisy was the sensible one, Rose was a flirt, (as per usual) ,Violet didn’t seem to have a set personality but she did have a office job and Daddy was just a drunk,even though every time he would fall over in a drunken stupor Hyacinth would insist “It was his war wound and they left the shrapnel in” the parents were divorced ,the Mom ran off with a salesman,though Hyacinth tells everyone that she was killed in the Blitz. They only showed the pilot because no stations picked the series up which was too bad because it was very good.
It's like in real life: now everyone has died and moments like this, where Hyacinth denies her family, no longer interests anyone. You can choose your friends, but not your family. I love this TV show...
I love this funny scene. Hyacinth's wasn't about to allow her man to rule the roost only like a rooster. Nor was she about to become a recluse when it sounded like a war again at the time outside was going on there. Meanwhile she was concerned our hearing is becoming diminished as time goes on. Making only ever nursery ryhme time seem like bliss some day. When some people only to make themselves look higher minded then start giving us lame advice on how to mind a bear.

I think I even remember a moment when someone says something about leaving the suite/sweet on the drive, and thinking "Well no, you can't leave it there - it would be too dirty to eat!"
Richard u know I love my family but that's no reason why I should have to acknowledge them in broad daylight this is classic comedy for the generations yet to come
