“THE BROCHUUURRRE RESIDENCE!!!” I cannot get enough of this show😂
Hahahahh!! Yess I love it 😂😂😂😂
Ahahah me too!
Like Basil from Fawlty towers says " hello Fawlty tities"
I miss watching this show!
GO ON dailymotion
What people did before bragging on social media .
probably still doing it
Before? I know a few.
😀
Hahahaha Hyacinth’s bragging may be digital if she were this in modern age.
Insane people, you mean.
The energy Patricia Routledge brought to this role hasn't been matched by any other comedian before or since! She was just a volcano of talent and comedic timing that swept all who appeared in the scene with her, most of whom were very established actors themselves, so much so that they became almost invisible; I can't say that about any other actor I've seen.
Love how visibly wound up she's getting at Elizabeth's total disinterest in her strategically placed high-end holiday broh-shooours! :-D
Thank you for using the word ( disinterest) correctly lol
1:38 scares me.
Elizabeth couldn't assertive herself to say no to Hyacinth coffee ☕ it always ended up with Elizabeth breaking something.
And Elizabeth then spilt the coffee... again! (but not over the broh-shoours!)
What an incredible actress
Good Heavens, I don't think I'll ever get enough of this episode. The whole show was great but the episode with the holiday brochures is an absolute masterpiece, both the script and the acting. I laugh my ass off every time I watch it, even though I've seen it millions of times
Me too, it's my favourite one. I find some of the episodes a bit repetitive but not this one.
Her casually dumping the biscuits on them was seamless and smooth
Richard is so horribly distracted by Hyacinth pestering him that he buttons his sweater awkwardly and incorrectly LOL
In many ways, you cannot beat British comedy.
I cant see America pulling their own version of this sitcom off without making Hyacinth some across as just another Karen
The clean ones that is
DAME Patricia routledge THee BEST of Britain 👍🌟💯
Nobody could HAVE played
Hyacinth as WELL as HER
She is a jewel....just love her
I don't blame the vicar's wife for running away from Hyacinth.
The Bucket woman!
@@WillowJordan1979 It's bouquet!!!
She was running away cos Rose was chasing her husband.
Irl people like her are unbearable but she's so over the top, almost innocent. Gotta love her just hilarious
It’s like it’s all she knows
She was the very very best in that character! I laugh and laugh. Never ever gets old! 😂😂😂
And Patricia Routledge is still alive she is 92 years old
I found that out on Google
My husband and I love this series. We’ve watched it at least 5 times. Not many series can appeal to so many people!
Before Instagram, you had to brag with your vacation plans using holiday brochures
Then when you came home pictures on projection slides. 70-80s Facebook.
Like then, it's boring and nobody really wants to see the pictures, but people are so self-involved now they believe people care if they go for 2 weeks to Greece, Spain, Barbados etc. Still boring still annoying like Hyacinth, but without the crazy hilarity.
Narcissist's and attention seeker's mostly nowadays.
@@vaw796 It wasn't that different before social media. A friend of mine would lay out a map, showed where she had gone, showed photos of each day. Then she started arguing with her husband about which day something happened. "It was Wednesday!" No no, it was Tuesday because that's when we saw the guy in the big coat..." It was interminable. Every time she travelled.
@@SH-fz9dy Hyacinth is a narcissist too.
When she said ‘the brochure residence’ instead of ‘Bucket (pronounced Bukay) residence’ it was hilarious 😂
I remember that, and was in tears. Still fantastic
I love the look of annoyance on Hyacinth’s face as Elizabeth fails to notice the brochures 😒
Picture of the Twin Towers on the brochure cover: emblematic of what now seems like a more care-free era 😢
Yup, well stopped
"The broccchhhure residence" ... massive laugh out loud moment.. I'd wager that was a Patricia improv.
I remember I once answered the house phone with Hyacinth's signature greeting when I was about 6 or 7 and my Mum gave a right bollocking 😂😂.
I think that would have given the person on the other end of the phone a good laugh. You did well.
Such great nostalgia. I used to watch this show, along with Are You Being Served, and Eastenders early on Saturday mornings on PBS. Me and my mom would wake up at 5am just to catch these shows. Love British humor.
Goodness gracious, what a talented lady. This clip is one of my favourite .😂🇬🇧❤️
Love how Richard is buttoning up his cardigan wrong🤣
Imagine what her Facebook page would've been like
It would be too boring to show Hyacinth brag on social media, I would imagine. I mean, it would be just her sitting in front of a computer and telling Richard who gave her likes. Social media has taken all the social part out of bragging.
I was sick in 2003 when I was a kid, like 4 years old, this was on PBS, all I remember was how 'funny' she talked talking about the brochures and when I was asking the nurse she had no idea what the show was called [this is miami, fl in the us]. I used to scour the internet looking for this show and I finally found this show and this scene!!
Awww
What. An. Actress.
0:14 the neighbour lady was fab too! Said a 1000 words without even speaking lol
How do they look😂👍
You gotta love Hyacinth, at least when she's just on tv😉!
RIP Clive swift (Richard)!💔💓🌸
This is more than a show this is the most funniest show
There is something to be said for Hyacinth and Richard's relationship.
Hyacinth could have pursued a man that had a title or more "importance", but she didn't. She chose Richard.
And despite all the stupid crap Hyacinth constantly does, Richard stays with her.
They never really admit it or address it, but those two must really love each other.
Lol
Richard might not get it often, but Hyacinth would be a real goer in the sack!
@@bonsouthall960 what before, during or after one her candle light suppers?
She does encourage him and takes care of him, keeps the house and there are hints throughout the series’ that when they were a younger couple, her energy and drive were two of her greatest charms and that she used to be content to be Mrs. "Bucket" rather than Mrs. "Bouquet" at first
@@Mxyzptlksac really? Once Richard said "I was Bucket till I married you". So I thought she changed it to her Bouquet pronunciation when they got married lol
The way she just sings “Oooooooooohh” when she “finds“ her brochures on the pavement cracks me up every single time I watch this 😂😂😂😂😂😂
When hyacinth pours the biscuits to Elizabeth 😂🤣😭🤣
The way how she moves her body around those brochures resembles a little bit like Mr Bean how he would be obsessive about something he thinks is important to show to people
maybe I'm crazy but I would love going to one of Hyacinth candle light suppers. Just Richard alone I would definitely want as a friend.
I love how the way she says “braw-sheewweer” gets more ridiculous as it goes on
The days before people book their holidays online.
Hyacinth is such a sweetheart.
I died when she accidentally said “the brochure residents” 😂
No you didn't. Otherwise you wouldn't be here to make your comment. Stop lying on the internet.
@@plum_bit love it
‘Accidentally’ ...😏
She had brochures on the mind 😂😂😂
Residence*
one of my favorite episodes...especially when she throws them out the car window.
And she tries to blame Richard when it was her own fault the entire time
That one dislike must be the Bucket Woman trying to get people to see her holiday brochures
"Ooooh dear. I'm afraid Richard was driving so fast my holiday brusheers blew out the window". 😂😂😂😂😂 And the end when she's chasing the Vicar's wife with them 😂😂.
This is back when people used to make good quality comedy.
And it was tastefully done.
1:36 The brochure has the original World Trade Center on it.
I love this woman. She always makes me smile ☺
My mother wore her outfits in the 90's! And ran like her too! :D
Dropping the biscuits, lol. Elizabeth is more concerned about breaking the crockery.
Poor Richard, so confused that he does the buttons of his cardigan the wrong way!
Hyacinth takes middle class snobbery to the highest level.
I just spat out my coffee... THE BROCCCCHURE RESIDENCE...
Notice Richard buttoning his sweater at the beginning!!LOL Was that in the script?
The Bucket woman chasing the vicar’s wife menacing her with those holiday “bra shures”
I would have told Hyacinth “I hope you are buying a one way ticket!”
That would have been a brilliant line for Emmet to say 🤣🤣🤣.
Tor W Thanks. It sure would have been. Wouldn’t blame him for saying it. LOL.
This Christmas special where she actually goes on a cruise is comedy gold especially when she is under the impression that Onslow and Daisy are stowaways 😂
That always reminds me of how Onslow misinterprets the significance of being asked to dine at the Captain's table: "...and then they expect you to eat with the crew!"
She always reminded me of the late Queen
Love the fact others in other countries can enjoy this show :)
In the US, surely do.
@@timothyleon558 Is it popular there? :)
@@Greenpoloboy3 I would say yes … among those who have a more sophisticated taste, and who are willing to venture beyond mainstream programming.
@@timothyleon558 Thats great to hear! Do they watch due to mainly Hyacinth, its Britishness, Onslow and Daisy, or just some other reason or all the above? Sorry asking lol, but its a great comedy. Love hearing its enjoyed not just by us here in the UK :)
@@Greenpoloboy3 I believe Hyacinth might be the initial draw, but each of the characters and scenarios become an attraction. Her Princess phone is somehow elevated above. Her brochures imply something more elegant. The fact that everyone is on to her is the greatest form of naivety, especially for one so driven to impress. Her biscuits from a tin are superior .. “light refreshments,” though most kitchens there have the same cookies we may have. Her albatross to bear includes her very name; she devotes ample time each day living down the “Bucket” that just won’t do!
This episode makes you realise that she's actually nuts 😬😯
Isn't that every episode?
The Brochure Residents 😂
@TheSmithersy *no one cares
I find it very funny too that line always makes me laugh.
😂😂😂 this lady is hilarious
I always wanted to see an episode where they actually went on the Orient Express
Ha ha. As if Turkey doesn't have it's own problems. Bring on the Bucket lady!
Keeping up Appearances is my favorite UK comedy show while All in the Family is my favorite USA comedy show.
Patricia Routledge and Rowan Sebastian Atkinson are the best when it comes to British humor
:)
Hyacinth - what would the show be without her!
I use to check out as many as I could and watched them over and over! I absolutely adore her. I can't get them any longer they sold them! Made me upset for now I watch what I can on my phone! I really enjoy the ones where they bought the apartment in the Country Manor House . Those are priceless!
Love when she leaves for the phone and looks back in with frustration fucking hilarious
Of course, its braw-shewers.
Not brochures.
Her RP accent always slips all the same though, like when she says fast.
I thought she said brushes
@@anaussie213 it's a slip of the tongue basically
This woman, this show is hilarious. Great cast, but man am I glad that I don't have a neighbor like Hyacinth. 😊😊😊
How do they Look? They look like Brouchers lying on a table lol
When she slammed them down on her chair. 😂🤣😂
Notice Richard buttons his sweater wrong
The poor guy is demented, no wonder!
He's so resigned with her 😂
She pronounces brochures in 2 slightly different ways depended on wether it’s an outside or inside scene either broshers or brosures
Funny thing is, she could have just honestly said, “Richard and I are thinking of planning a vacation, and it would mean a lot to me if you would look at my brochures.”….I know, I know, then it wouldn’t be a funny episode.
Or, "we wouldn't have an episode"
You can't be that obvious. It's seen as very uncultured.
I love this show when i went to study in Australia in 1998 . and i found in UA-cam l love this show make me laugh.
Notice how Richard who isnt a snob despite being upper middle class just pronounces it bro-shers like everyone else while Hyacinth changes it to brosh-ooers.
Oh I love her so much.....hahaha I know people like hyacinth that’s the worrying bit....
I loved watching Hyacinth. Poor Richard did not stand a chance. Love watching reruns.
She’s the best
She was simply brilliant!
Patricia played Hyacinth so brilliant - time flies shes an old lady now .Wonderful times when all this was on TV.
There are Hyacinths out there in every street .
I was genuinely rooting for them brochures to finally get seen.
I love her she is such a hoot 😆
"Have you seen my holiday brosshewers?"
Lord have mercy!!!!! Just how many people I know like her!!!???????
Imagine Hyacinth with social media! She’d get soooooo many trolls and her hate comments would be endless 😂 there’d also be a whole snob community that she’d try to be the queen of no doubt 😂
Lol this is me with my River cruise brochures at work. Cruising in May down the Rhine 😁
Well how did that go with covid and all😜
@@NyanyiC lol I've got a whole lotta travel credits I'll probably never use. I have to say lol or I'll cry (lol). I'm in Australia so I guess I can go to NZ...
@@kiwiboycorza Well, now that it’s 2023, I hope you’ve been able to go.
Remember watching this show with my mom RIP , the golden girls, waiting for God (if you don’t know it is another hilarious brit com ) but my favorite memory of this episode was watching it with my former best friend and her 12 year old daughter, as soon as hyacinth said the brochure residence , we bust out laughing so hard the neighbors came knocking to complain about the noise from the 3 of us. It was worth it, this episode is gut busting hilarious
You have great taste, The Golden Girls was sharp, sassy and really brilliant cast, and Waiting For God was sharp and I loved Tom, he was so dotty. BTW you should if you haven't seen it watch The Golden Palace, the episodes are on YT, it's a spin off of the Golden Girls and actually it's pretty funny, Don Cheadle is in it.
Wow what crabby neighbors...get offended over laughing.
I wish this show was still on the air,I loved it.
The ability to laugh,, trouble is this is so true to every day lifexx
Never gets old😄😄
I love you Mrs Bouquet 💐
Since this show aired in the U.S. back in the 90s, Americans really believe that the English are all like the characters in these sketches.
... Imagine if Brits believed all American moms were like Roseanne? Be a bit silly really wouldn’t it?
In The Beginning Was The Word They are like Roseanne aren’t they?
This show aired in Britain in the ‘70’s, right?
@@TheFever77 Roseanne was quite trashy to say the least.
@@richparsons4205 Early 90’s.
The ocean liner community needs to see this.
They took the QE2 out of service many years ago. It shows how old these shows are. Thanks to social media people not only can brag about a vacation they never took they can easily lie about their age. Even people who are overweight can be a glamorous super model. lol.
Richard buttoned his sweater wrong.
One of my favorite scenes from the series
English Humour
The best kind👍😅
And in the end (in one of the Christmas specials) she does end up on a QE2 cruise. (Only to have it ruined by Daisy and Onslow).
Richard buttoning up his jumper all wrong lol
I have all of these on DVD and evey year or so I binge. Love them
You should watch them up to 2 times each month,DVDs will last 50 to 100 years if you store, use and handle them carefully
This is one of the funniest episodes of any show ever
Aquablue 125 My favorite!
