Dyma'r emyn traddodiadol a phoblogaidd 'Calon Lân' wedi'i chwarae ar organ syml 1 manwl Eglwys y Santes Fair, Much Cowarne yng Ngororau Cymru. Ymddiheuraf am ansawdd sain yr offeryn, mae hi'n hen iawn (fel y gallech weld) ac angen trwsio.
Here's the traditional and popular hymn 'Calon Lân' played on the simple 1 manual organ of St. Mary's Church, Much Cowarne in the Marches region of Wales. Apologies for the sound quality of the instrument, it's very old (as you can see) and needs repairing.
Calon Lân is Hymn 780 and Tune 634 in Caneuon Ffydd.
Dyma canu emyn, a dyma geiriau Calon Lân er mwyn i chi ganu'r emyn gyda nhw.
    1. Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus
Aur y byd na'i berlau mân
    Gofyn rwyf am galon hapus
    Calon onest, calon lân.
    CYTGAN
    Calon lân yn llawn daioni
    Tecach yw na'r lili dlos
Dim ond calon lân all ganu
    Canu'r dydd a chanu'r nos.
    2. Pe dymunwn olud bydol
    Chwim adenydd iddo sydd
    Golud calon lân, rinweddol
    Yn dwyn bythol elw fydd.
    CYTGAN
    3. Hwyr a bore fy nymuniad
Gwyd i'r nef ar adain cân
Ar i Dduw, er mwyn fy Ngheidwad
    Roddi imi galon lân.
    English translation (by myself):
    1. I'm not asking for a luxurious life
the world's gold or its fine pearls
I'm asking for a happy heart
an honest heart, a clean heart.
    CHORUS
A clean heart, full of goodness
    fairer than the pretty lily
only a clean heart can sing
sing in the day and sing at night.
    2. If I wished for worldly wealth
    it would quickly fly away
the wealth of a good, clean heart
    would forever profit me.
    3. Evening and morning, my wish
Ascending to heaven on the wings of song
and to God for the sake of my Savior
    give me a clean heart.
Geiriau/Words: Daniel James (Gwyrosydd) 1848-1920. Alaw/Tune: John Hughes.

This organ has such a nice sound. And you're playing that beautiful hymn again. I could listen to you play that over & over & over again ❤

Thank you Mom. The organ itself is quite difficult to play, it's quite old and you have to push the keys down very hard. But older organs do have better sounds to them. In other areas of Wales the illegal, non-Church controlled chapels sometimes have reed rather than pipe organs.

Thank you Ruthie. I wish we could just meet up somewhere and talk and talk and talk about pianos and music.....

It's a copy of Hymns Ancient and Modern, the standard hymnal of the state and King controlled Church of England.
