You're the only one talking about Remus and S35. I think that the 45mm shows a lot of variable horizontal squeeze through the frame so that it seems to be great at center punched close-up work, but lacking a geometrically accurate standard focal length for something like scenics or if you needed to do a 3-across 3-shot. I'd assume that S35 45mm vs FF 65mm or more or less similar as would be S35 65mm vs FF 100mm, so in this context, I wonder if the upcoming 30mm S35 lens will provide a more perfect geometry than the FF 45mm, making an option for the same FoV but optimized for geometry vs exciting looking closeups. For wide angle, I'm ok with the idea of mixing spherical shots since they wouldn't typically be shots with the anamorphic characteristics in mind. Another benefit is that you could do crossing shots with similar FoV with only 1 lens set if you have both a S35 and FF body, sort of an economical way of thinking.
I think using the lenses in both S35 and Full frame gives you some nice images with variety, only thing I'd wish for is an organic looking flare but we can't have everything at this price point haha
Think inside shots wide open look nice, but anything wide open outside, trees/sky etc falls apart with CA. Probably why it seems better in this test. I also uploaded another test outside, this time with the A7S3 and at T2.8 things look great too. The Canon adapter is great, better then metabones
Thanks for testing these! I'd love to see more S35 tests on the Komodo without the speedbooster. Would you say the 45mm is the only one that is really interesting for S35 shooters? Thanks again
Hi Daniel. Me again here bother you with doubts, but seem as you are the only one in the ineternet with the situation that could be mine if i finally buy the Remus set. I got The Komodo X and also the FX3. And as i see you use this lenses in both cameras. I want to ask you if you have to shimming the lenses. If so, this shimming not presenting differents behaviors depending the camera? Because with shimming you are actually modifying the distance between the lens and the focal plane. I also have a speedbooster, in my case the metabones ultra. I don´t know if my question have sense. Thanks so much.
Hi, luckily for me I didn't have to shim the lenses, mine seem to be ok. Sharpness might change a little bit but I'm fine with my sharpness and focus throw seems on to me, with and without speed booster. I know a friend of mine had to shim their set and all is good. Only issue is CA wide open, mainly with foliage and signs. But 2.8 at 4 works nicely
and the canon focal reducer works on all the focal lengths with no issues? @@danieljohnpeters do you find that it adds a bit more character to the edges?
@@deviate.2651 yes works on the film range. Only brings character to edges the same way if used on a full frame sensor. That canon reducer works really well without messing things up like other boosters
thanks for all the Blazar videos you are uploading!
No worries :)
The 45 looks so nice and creamy. Thx for testing it🤙🏼 now I am stoked to get mine soon👍👍
glad I could help, you'll love the lenses
@@danieljohnpeters I am sure about that thx mate
Thanks for this, really does look great.
thank you
Great Test Dan - keep it up !!!
Thank you

Looks great. Somehow better than the previous tests you uploaded. Like a tiny bit sharper and less CA even with the adapter

Would’ve been helpful to compare oval bokeh on different sensor sizes to give us an idea of what to expect on a super 35 sensor!
Hey Daniel thx for the test footage, looks very nice. Did you choose the amber or blue one and which diopter did you use for this shots?
No worries. I chose Amber and I'm using Polaroid Diopters www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B003UI3VAU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

hey! which full frame adapter was used? went through all the comments but I sadly couldn't find an answer. :)
I used the Canon version as I found it was the best
Sweet ! Anyway what brand of adapter you use in this video?
I'm using the the Canon 0.71 EF to RF speed booster. Tried the Metabones before the Canon, good but the Canon was slightly sharper and less glow

Which ff adapter did you use?
The Canon version, found it slightly better than Metabones
@@danieljohnpeters that mean the Blazar is EF mount, not PL mount?
@@leehinz4524 both. You can inter change the mounts. But you have to buy the adapter from them, or just buy the PL mount version
S35 mode? The Komodo is not already S35 and no more??
Yes not FF I was showing the differences using it full frame with Canons speedbooster and the native sensor to show differences
I'm feeling like you bro 😂 nice test in your red looks amazing
thanks man
