First off, I haven't been yelling about safety... yet. But now that you ringed your farm plot in cobble calling it "safe" I will yell now.... SAFETY RAILINGS!!! That is the only way for one to be safe from falling into the void. As for mobs... well, lots of lighting but you already know this since you put down some torches. And I have to agree that I think expansion is the next thing that needs to be done. Quickly running out of room on that little platform.
