Great video just the information I needed! I was planning to do this on my stock 94 Exceed and I have a 16x7.5 standing by but as soon as I saw your info on body lift and adjusting shift levers and radiators I became hesitant. Do you think this is possible by just maxing out my torsion bars and cutting some on the fenders? Thanks
Hey bud, I have just put 33/12.50/15 on factory rims on a 2.8 blister fender, no lift needed and still have plenty of clearance from what I can see from a quick flex test the other day. I reckon I can fit 35s without body lift just some minor trimming back of arch+front bumper as well as slightly wider offset wheels to clear lock to lock. Remember offset is everything! So Keep it close to stock, otherwise as I have tested even 33s will rub on fender If you go too wide(lock to lock). Also If you have long travel shocks/remove sway bars then 35s may rub elsewhere (possibly rear fender under flex), hope this helps let me know how u get on👍🏻
@@taibrookes7374 thanks for the detailed response. Hopefully by start of next year I could start planning on this project. You have a great build! Will sure be visiting for more
@@montanamonterothanks little hiccup with my beadlocks since its wider 17x9 i might cut more aggressively to prevent rubbing unlike yours and how did you chop your rear frame upwards
Hey man! Got the same 95 SR! Putting a reman long block in it now! PO put a ridiculous body lift on it and I want to drop it to 2” like you have here. Can you provide any details on what you used?
Hey Montana! My hubby and I enjoy your videos... very helpful! Any suggestions for good spark plugs? I have an '02 Montero Limited V6 3.5L (I bought the car used early last year). It runs great but I'm sure they need to be changed :-/
@@montanamonteroGreat! Lastly, should I opt for Iridium or stay with Platinum? I've never used Iridium on any of my prior vehicles, but, based on what I read, the Iridium ones seem like they would have better performance and they last longer. What do you think?
@@d-nizzal8769 from what I can tell these motors aren’t as picky as some others when I comes to plug type, so I would run either! Both should last between 60-100k
@@montanamontero Sweet!! 👍👍 It's been a learning curve with this vehicle but it's EXTREMELY capable and I love it :-D. Thanks so much for your help and keep up the great videos! And know I'll be bugging in the future if need be, lol!
yes they are! and also, i said i didn't like the shocks, but after going back to the oem, i might be going bilstien all around haha. way to much body roll
Love your passion... You've put together some really interesting videos on the Gen 2, and I look forward to seeing more soon.
thanks! i'm excited to make more
Nice lake. Looks everything I have is just basics over here. Time for some upgrades for entire suspension.
Good looking rig. Working on a 99. What's the part # for the shocks? And would they work with ADD's 2.5" springs?

So only bodylift? 2inch? No suspension lift? Just cranked up the torsion bars?
I have HD lift springs in the back. But yes, stock torsion bars up front

Hows the fuel?

adventure driven design makes a body lift kit that would probably be easiest to use. i made my own 2"
What’s the biggest tire you can do without the body lift?
i've seen guys fit a 35" with just suspension lift, but it seems like it would require a lot of cutting
33” tires no problem with a 2” ome lift , no body pucks?
You can actually fit 33”s without any lift. Just crank up the torsion bars in the front a bit

either that or 2", they. are the OME HD springs

what kind of mpg are you getting with the 35s
somewhere around 14.5 if you take the average. all things considered, not bad
