Thanks for the question, no the main bearing does not need to be replaced when you're tapping out the main shaft. But while it's out you should inspect the main bearing thoroughly. Thanks for watching and ride safe
Thanks question, it could be the pawl shifter. But before you do that check the linkage to make sure it's not binding or loose. If that's all good check your shift forks to make sure there not bend and the shaft the forks slide on. Also check the dog gears for excessive wear. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching and ride safe
@@tinkeringwithharleys Thanks for the advice..I adjusted the rod linkage and that seemed to correct the problem..Thanks You for your advice and knowledge ✌️
Sorry to hear you dropped your bike. I'm assuming from both comments it dropped on the primary side of the bike. Start with the simple stuff, check your clutch lever make sure it's not bent and working correctly. Next check your clutch cable to make sure the adjustment is correct giving enough free play at the clutch lever. Check the toe shifter to make sure it's not bent, also check the shaft that the shifter and linkage bolt to to make sure it's not bent or binding up. Next check the linkage for looseness, make sure both ends are tight. Also check to see that linkage is straight. Next check shift arm on pawl shifter to make sure it's not loose. If all that is good check to make sure clutch is adjusted correctly. If all that checks out than you'll have to dig deeper. Hope this helps. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
