Hello Midwest Traveler, i came across your channel the other day and love it. I live in Huntingdon and started my UA-cam channel about the same time as you. It was great to see Huntingdon from a travellers point of view. Keep up the great work
Whoops.... wrong account. That's great. I met a couple from Kimbolton (I'm sure I spelled it wrong) when I was in Poland. When I was in Huntington again, I met them at the Swan pub I pointed out in the video in Old Weston.
@@midwesttraveler2485 Haha i thought you had done that. Kimbolton is a lovely small town to visit, if you ever get the chance. I have been to the Swan Pub before, its quite nice. If i do drink in Huntingdon, i either go to the Falcon or the Bridge Hotel. I might see you in the Falcon one day! I will watch your other videos later this evening. Cheers
Thanks for the video. I was stationed at RAF ALCONBURY 1980 TO 1984. I lived in a little village call St Ives. We went to Huntington alot it really has alot of history. Our oldest daughter was born over there at RAF LAKENHEATH. We really enjoyed our time in England. It's good to see a lot of the old pubs that we use to go to r still there. We use to eat in the pink pub in Great Stuckey alot sense it was right outside the base. The TR-1 that u were referring to was a updated version of the U-2 spy plane. Again thanks for the walk down memory lane.
I love Huntingdon. My daughter lives there. I live in St. Louis but spend two weeks a year there. Haven't stayed at The George. I stay at Sanford House right across the street, extremely clean. My favorite pub in Huntingdon is King of the Belgians. Nice beer garden.
It was interesting to see your view of Huntingdon and your observations driving through the country lanes. I look forward to your future trips around the area now travel is a bit easier. Have a great weekend.
Hey. Heading back to Huntingdon this February for two weeks. If you ever go back, Duxford Imperial War Museum is a treat. There was an RAF pilot flying an old Spitfire when I was there.
Good to see you on safe ground.Due to school, I’m on the Flightradar24 app quite a bit & kept seeing RQ-4A’s loitering over, well, you know. Is Huntingdon going to be your home of record? If you can tolerate the weather, it should be a great place. Seems like everything you need is near the circle off Abbots Ripton Road & everything else is scattered along all points south of that.
Old Weston the Swan , eventhough it looks shut is still open, nicknamed the mucky duck 😉. The silhouettes were I believe after ww1 remembrance ! Lest We Forget was the phrase I think was used as you will find them across the country 👍👍
I love the idea of the silhouettes, I just wasn't sure if they were a for a specific holiday or remembrance in general. Thank you for the clarification.
Hey, nice vid. Stukeley is actually pronounced 'Stu-clee' Stu like Stuart.

I normally hang out at the Falcon when I'm there.

Talk about irony...........I'm in Huntingdon right now, but I'm also from near St. Louis. I'll be back there next weekend.

I plan on being back in the area for a couple of weeks next month. Hopefully, I can film in Cambridge and London as well.

Thanks. I'll be back in November. I'll definitely check it out.
My father lived in Huntingdon and I lived there during WW2.
Looked like the F-5E Gate Guard at RAF Alconbury, I was stationed at Alconbury 1974-76. Only RF-4C's then.
That's exactly where it is
Yep, F-5E! I was stationed at RAF Alconbury from 1972-1976, and the RF4C’s were scheduled to leave shortly after that.

Ha. I was just there for the weekend. I'm back in Ukraine now.
Lucky! The closest I ever get to being overseas nowadays is the occasional run to Long Island. Hope all is well.
Good to see Oliver Cromwell history
Oliver Cromwell museum worth showing
I'm not sure they'll let me film in there

So, I've driven past the Swan dozens of times. It is a restaurant or a hotel?
