      Because terrorists never scouted military bases before with a camera. It would be stupid not to go out and ask questions. It lets anyone seeing this know that yes, they are being watched. More of a deterrent for those who might want to do game because they know the people at the gate are alert and aware to their presence, not kicking back and sleeping.

    I visited Alconbury about 5 years or so ago to pick up a car from one of the businesses on the old airfield site. The old entrance was being reworked so I walked around the perimeter on the main road till I came to what I thought was a side road into the airside. After a couple of hundred yards there was a covered area and portakabin by a gate. I didn't realise the tech site was still in use and I sauntered up with my little backpack on and phone in hand to be greeted by five US army types with rifles emerging from the portakabin. They spread out ahead of me and very politely asked if they could help me, lol. I explained my business but they assured me there was no access here and I had to walk a mile back where I'd come from. Very professional and polite but definitely prepared to act if required. Much respect to them, unlike our muppet mod dibble.

      I will say, and this is anywhere. If there is a military transport of a nuclear weapon, owned by the US, there is a defined National Defense Area around the asset that the security personnel have full jurisdiction. Obviously, that is an extreme case, usually not done by ground, and I the rare instance that it did happen, it would be done in conjunction with local authorities so that u wouldn’t really deal with US personnel, but the outer perimeter would be locals. Just wanted to let people know that there are rare cases.

    A long time ago I had connections with a USAF base in Oxfordshire.....The guys there were told a story about an incident in the 60's......the base's grass and other plants were managed by a UK government agency that employed local workers......one day a worker was on a ride on mower and he had driven the mower outside to trim the grass outside the gate, when he cam back in the shift change had happened and a new team were on the gates...with some straight off the plane new boys.....now one of these approached the guy on the mower and said "stop ID".....the good old Oxfordshire boy laughed and said "everybody knows me, I've worked here for years". he made to drive past the new boy.....who promptly pulled out his pistol and shot him point blank.....Now I don't remember the physical outcome for the Oxfordshire boy.....but the American airman was on the next plane back to the US. You see his standing orders were to shoot on sight anyone who tries to force their way onto the base. A little more common sense could have been used....certainly, but nobody had made orders that took into account a good old Oxfordshire boy mowing the grass. Back then I heard that the USAFs policy was not to pay out....same way the have not yet paid out on the woman who killed the motorcyclist. So if any payment was made to Lawnmower man, it came from the British government. As they say up North...."think on lad" "think on".

    Just a small suggestion, maybe all auditors should carry printed copies of the Oath of attestation that all police officers take and always ask them if they are acting on their oath when you encounter them. Then present them with a printed copy of the Oath of attestation and remind them that they swore to uphold their oath. When you have that on camera there is no hiding place for the oath breakers.

    • @johaquila
      @johaquila 2 роки тому +1

      @@TheTerminator423 I don't think so. It's just human nature that they don't remember it, given that it's typically treated as a formality. Just like you can't distinguish good and bad spouses based on whether they remember details of the wedding ceremony. The only people I would expect to remember parts of their oath are those who are weirdly spiritual about it, and those who realized at the time that there were items in it that they would probably not uphold. I guess when PTTP is asking random officers it's just a little psychological game of the kind that police often play with the public, making them feel uncomfortable and at a disadvantage. Calling cops out for not upholding their oath is of course a different matter.
