Running through the gears in the '51 Chevy

- I got a few requests to make a video running through them once I got the new motor and 5 speed in. The sound is really muffled because it was sitting on the seat of the car and I guess the microphone on the phone is on the glass side or something. It still gives you an idea of what it sounds like...perfect!!!

That car end up almost new. But we'll that's live, we have to keep going. The 49 is going to end up being better 😎👍

Yes sir. I dont have a speedo but I keep up with traffic on a highway that has a 70 mph speed limit at I want to say about 2500 in 5th
So I took it on the highway the other day. I used the gps on my phone to get an exact speed. At somewhere between 22 to 2300 I was at 70 mph on the dot.
@@ninja63639 2300 is the sweet spot for those 235s
The one thing I’m missing that era 3-speed would have is that old Chevy whine. 😢 it sounds good though and probably runs better.
I almost put the three speed back in but I ended up selling the car before I got around to it. It’s nice not having the shifter jam up on you at the worst possible time though, that’s for sure.

I loved it man. My gas mileage tanked because I was always on the throttle. I'm hoping the flathead I have now will sound just a good with 2" duals
@@ninja63639 i have a 51 2 door coop chevy and a 50 fleetline 2 door. the coop has a 327 th350 trans i need to finish it.. wiring harness disk brakes mustang 2 power steering. fleet line is 6cyl tork tube... need to up grade it
@@licha5050 the good thing about the torque tube is you can link the rear from the axle to the front spring mounts and be good to go

@@licha5050 bags or coils. Late 60s chevelle rear coils are almost perfect for these cars

what mufflers are you running, true duals ?
Yeah man 2" straight pipes from a full split factory manifold. No mufflers. Scroll through my videos and you'll find a couple about the exhaust

Wow no way Ive been following you on youtube for years I had a 54 and your videos were very helpful unfortunately I had to sell it and I am now in search of a 51 that is for sale while searching the internet I had come across a familiar looking 51 so I wanted to verify that the 51 was for sale.
