As far as I know, Through the Fire and Flames, while technically challenging, is challenging mostly because of how fast the lead parts are, and how many techniques you have to master in order to play the solo correctly, and that's it. This is challenging because of how fast the lead parts are, how many techniques you have to master, the unusual phrasings which force you to move your fingers in unusual ways, and the odd time signatures.
I can’t believe through the fire and flames is even being compared to CAFO. Honestly anything by AAL makes through the fire a flames look like smoke on the water
I think they are actually pretty good, but because it's a polyhrythm and he has his guitar mixed pretty high it's easy to get lost a little while listening to that section, maybe I'm wrong though

Odd time signatures are easier to master than you might think. You just have to think about how the bar is subdivided.
I'm a huge Dragonforce fan, but if you know your scales, and can keep up a fast tempo, you can basically play any Dragonforce song.
