The ting is nice.
I own this knife, got it off one of his drops and while it is a nice knife it's not a 720 dollar knife. The detent ramp is to big and not smooth enough causing a weird feeling during close. My backspacer is also bent to one side, and mine came off center and can't get it centered myself. It's a good knife but he needs improvements to be a 720 dollar knife
Couldn't agree more. Nothing special about this knife anyways. $720 for a design? Nah.
@@treyhaynes6172 the knife has potential to be really good if it was dialed in more and did some kinda milling pattern on the ti. Also the blade stock is .156" and is 25 thousandths bte at 17° per side so not very good cutting geometry ether. A knife this size should have cutting geometry like the Rosie, instead it's more like a hinderer. On the plus side it rings when I flick it open and has 62hrc 20cv blade steel so not all bad.
Have you reached out to Prince about it? Im pretty sure he would take care of any issues you have. The ramp is butter on mine. I usually hate ramps but this one is phenomenal.

Is it possible to put skiff bearings in a benchmade freek which runs on washers?
No. You can put washers in a bearing knife but not the other way unless mill out the blade or liners

The backspacer would bother me for $720.Oz machine co makes a pretty much perfect knife which i can attest to having owned multiple Rosie's for the same money at table.I like the design and have been tempted to pick up one on his weekly drops but now not so sure.Nice disassembly and overview.
I feel bad for Him But There is no way with more than one problem they should have dialed all the knives in for Bladeshow especially it's like some don't care because they have a name it may have been an accident.
The knife design and execution seem done very well otherwise,so the misaligned backspacer is almost more of a miss for me.Maker seems like a stand up dude from what I've seen of him so hopefully the backspacer issue is fixed on future examples.As I said earlier really like the design details and execution except for the backspacer issue.
He reached out and is sending a backspacer to me. Id be happy even without that but great CS sets it over the top for me.

It's cool.. it's also very simple which I like.. I'm just not sure how that price point was reached.. nothing about it screams 720.. imho.IMHO.. but he gets it so obviously to some ppl see the value.
Its a US made custom knife. The price is lower than Grimsmo, Oz, Brown, etc. and its not finished to those levels but it seems more than fair to me.
@@LeftyEDC Oz Rosie still starts at $700 so comparable if you can get a Rosie on a drop.

@@matthewlyden6081not bad for Oz. They also make a ton more. But a base Rosie is solid. Ive handled 20-30 over the years and probably 50% were as good as this knife in terms of action/feel/detent/not having any lash, play , etc. they always look impeccable, thats for sure. Sometimes its just little things here and there that you get less of when someone is doing them one at a time or the maker is handling 100% of the work.
I've purchased 7 or 8 Grimsmo Knives and 6 Oz directly off of drops on their sites and none have had any finishing irregularities or inconsistencies.By far the best in my experience and I've owned all the reg suspects Holt Brown Grimsmo Oz Shiro Burger etc Burger also had 6 or 7 and no issues pretty much perfect but Oz and Grimsmo are my standout manufacturers for CNC hand finished knives by far IMHO
