Such a sharp joke. What are you gonna do, criticize him for making fun of all the people that he goes out of his way to employ? As a comedian? Come on... Lmao
I haven’t had Apple Juice in so long. Damn, I want a screaming cold out the freezer juice box with that thin ass straw.idk why, but that straw hits so hard
You are one my favorite "reactors" because you are so real. I have no idea where you live but clearly you have the proper moral character. Jokes are jokes, credit is given when it is earned. Shane is a true goodboy at heart. It's a shame there are so many people with these with victimhood "problems" that cannot accept that. The R word exist for a reason and should be used and accepted when appropriate.
I loved this. Funnest thing is just rewatching it and just pay attention to the band in the back LOL that Red head isn't laughing at NOTHING. Its like she woke up that morning with the plan "I will not break no matter how funny this guy is"
One of my first job was working with down syndrome children in a special needs day camp counselor. Best job I ever had. If you were having a bad day coming to work, it didn't last long. It was almost therapeutic. The children always had a good way of looking at things. They are born with an extra chromosome number 21. I think we are blessed by these individuals who have such open hearts who just enjoy life.
Shane made 6 million this year paid off his parents house and added a pool for his mom he’s having a great come back . Also if he got SNL back then he wouldn’t be killing like he is now .
I saw someone somewhere say that the cheering was authentic but also what you hear on this video is actually mixed to sound like more people cheered than actually did live. Keep in mind this is in the heart of NYC where a lot of folks get super offended extremely easily. That's what his comments were about when he mentioned seeing how many people weren't happy, and that he thought some of his jokes would do better. The crowd was made up of, in part, people who are really touchy about stuff. It's too bad, really. Still, his video for this monologue did *much* better than a lot of recent guest hosts' monologues for SNL.
The reason he was making comments about how bad it was going was because the only people laughing that whole monologue were his family and friends that came to support him. He literally went to do standup in front of the worst audience he could have. A whole bunch of 'zero funny' New York uptights that were determined to not laugh. People have posted online about how the audience was dead silent except for the people who knew Shane, even though his jokes were great. And then the news had the gall to say 'This is proof that Shane Gillis isn't funny' and tried to cancel him again.
Especially since SNL aired the Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor "Word Association" skit. How is it that SNL gets to jump on a high horse with Big Shane? Not fair.
That, and he also has a bit about the double standard of athletic wear for girls sports. He pointed out that girls in some sports wear clothes that are often revealing, while girls in the special Olympics wear very baggy clothes by comparison.
This guy is reviving 90s comedy. The jokes feel so out of pocket cause he isn’t using the “soft language” we’ve become accustomed to. It’s not for everyone, but I laughed all the same.
Shane is funny as all get out. And he very much looks like he could be my old high school history teacher/wrestling coach! Here's the thing - if you can't joke about someone, you're not including them in your group. Making jokes about Downs Syndrome is inclusive.
the thing about this monologue is that the audience was not laughing, its all a laugh track.. thats why he keeps saying , you didn't find that funny, you're not laughing etc.
I enjoyed it, but the crowd and the band didn't know how to respond. That's the funniest part. 😂😂 He does a skit on Trump sneakers in the show that's hilarious. Great job as usual. At least now you'll know why you are your son are no longer besties....😢
SNL hired him (should know who he is and what he does Fires him (knowing what he does and who he is Brings him back to host (knowing who he is and what he does I see a trend here
Bikini coffee shops will always be more popular than a shop with special workers. But. Sensitive people will always focus on the special workers getting more jokes.
I'm sure the dead, virtue signalling crowd didn't help his nerves (I heard they added some laughter and applause to make those at home think he got a better response). But he still did great, and SNL probably got a lot better ratings than it has in a long time.
6:37 "not something to laugh about" . Take a deep breath, think about that for a sec. You laughed. Is that reaction not the proper one? Your mind came to the conclusion the joke was funny. Your neighbor might say its this and that, your own mind says its funny. Its funny, your neighbor can jump in a lake. If you at your core thought it was hateful, you wouldnt laugh.
Fun fact most of the laughs are edited because snl is so soft people were dead silent because it wasnt woke😭😂😂. Its disgusting how bad snl is and shane even defended snl but i can’t believe the hate shane got after getting the highest rating since the 90s. Media sucks.
"Everyone's getting apple juice. We don't know how to fix that problem." Brilliant.
Such a sharp joke. What are you gonna do, criticize him for making fun of all the people that he goes out of his way to employ? As a comedian? Come on... Lmao
Honestly I want the apple juice
I just saw your comment on OB Dave’s video and then immediately saw this one. Tripped me out for a second 😂
I haven’t had Apple Juice in so long. Damn, I want a screaming cold out the freezer juice box with that thin ass straw.idk why, but that straw hits so hard
He held back massively but was still the best snl has had in years.
Norm Macdonald smiling down
Smiling yet hoping Britt gets her son a doghouse.
I didn't even consider this comparison but I appreciate it. Thank you😂
Norm is looking down thinking you'd have to have Downs Syndrome not to like that monologue.
Brilliant observation@@yew2oob954
I read that in his voice@@yew2oob954
First episode I tuned in live for in years so good 😂

Love to see one of my favorite reactors appreciate one of my favorite comics.
Wow, thanks!

Fr😂
It’s like a Twitter person in real life
Nah, she did an interview about this and is just super chill.
She mentioned that throughout the week she sees the set at least 2 times beforehand, so it makes sense.
Apparently she’s always like that and she had already heard his monologue a few times so it makes more sense with that context
Been waiting for this one 🔥

This might be my favorite reaction
Do more reactions I loved the show especially the emu one I almost cried
First SNL in years! I hope we all can laugh again.
I had a great uncle that had down syndrome, and he was a source of joy and humor
He didn't "make it" cuz he did SNL. It's SNL that needed him.
Best monologue since Chappelle. The only time I watch SNL is when an actual comedian does a monologue. I'm so glad to see you enjoying Shanes comedy.
Yup. Comedians are rare on SNL nowadays.
Louis CK's monologues were 🔥 as well
@@funkspinna absolutely !
@@AyAy008 CK is a goat !
@@SL1MZ one of the* goats, yes
Love Shane!
Feel the same Britt, love him too.
Yk he was selling arenas ? He didnt even need to do this. And he killed it.
He hasn't done arenas. She was using a different meaning of the word.
He has been a football coach, kind of. the skit Gilly and Keeves The Last White Football Team - one of the funniest things he has done
Britt, you gotta check out the Limu Emu and Doug cut sketch
I was hoping you'd do this one! 🍿
You and me both!
Best comedy reaction letsss goooo
One of my best friends has a son with down syndrome and she once told me "Down syndrome kids come to this world just to love and play"
And cheese sandwichs 🤣
"They're actually inviting me back, totes talking about down syndrome". - Shane when he got the call from SNL, probably
Britt has the best sense of humour 😊 and shes cute as hell
Oh yeah, your a starrrr!!!
Shane may have a spot on my stand up mount rushmore
His sketch show on UA-cam makes SNL look like a documentary on the dust bowl
Literally three brothers😂
The Apple juice line killed me 🤣😂
The fact that people are mad about this & still trying to bring him down, makes me enjoy it so much more 😂
Shane made 6 million this year paid off his parents house and added a pool for his mom he’s having a great come back . Also if he got SNL back then he wouldn’t be killing like he is now .
I think he said a lot of things he shouldn't say on TV, but that's why he's so funny, he just doesn't care😂
Mr Nobody is learning us we’re all are nobodies!
Such A King 🤴🏻

THE GREAT SHANE !

The underlying joke about his dad being a coach is that no one watches girls basketball.
That, and he also has a bit about the double standard of athletic wear for girls sports. He pointed out that girls in some sports wear clothes that are often revealing, while girls in the special Olympics wear very baggy clothes by comparison.
I thought he was making a joke that his dad volunteers , with no pay, to go hang out with highschool girls.
EVERYTHING is something to laugh about.😉
This guy is reviving 90s comedy. The jokes feel so out of pocket cause he isn’t using the “soft language” we’ve become accustomed to. It’s not for everyone, but I laughed all the same.
Shane funny af you should react to “shane gillis nobody died” hes too funny on that one😂
Shane is funny as all get out. And he very much looks like he could be my old high school history teacher/wrestling coach! Here's the thing - if you can't joke about someone, you're not including them in your group. Making jokes about Downs Syndrome is inclusive.
He is the new incarnation of Norm. Just the way he says something and the facial expressions makes it funny. I miss Norm Macdonald.
YOU SHOULD REACT TO NORMS SNL MONOLOUGE AFTER HE GOT FIRED
He does a Trump sketch. Love your spirit Britt!!
🖤🖤🖤
It’d be even funnier if he gets fired again😂
the thing about this monologue is that the audience was not laughing, its all a laugh track.. thats why he keeps saying , you didn't find that funny, you're not laughing etc.

Good point!
Hilarious 😂
Just a little correction; They have an EXTRA chromosome : 3 x Chromosome 23.
This was filmed live. In a podcast he said during rehearsal he didn't say any swear words so it got approved.
SNL hired him (should know who he is and what he does
Fires him (knowing what he does and who he is
Brings him back to host (knowing who he is and what he does
I see a trend here
Howl Dawgs
Stay blessed doggie
Tough room.
My baby boy just turned 24! 😭
He wasn't missing a chromosome. Technically, according to like SCIENCE... Dowsers have an extra chromosome.
Britt, we now know you are a bad person 😂
She does current stuff too ??
You probably can't say those words but Saturday Night Live is actually live.
My wife was SO TIRED of me showing her the same jokes, we saw him, bert n tom a few weeks ago and it won her over
Can you check out Toby Keith, God Love her.
you should react to clips from Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast.
The word has NEVER been offensive
When people hear the word and assume it’s offensive
People take offfense
Words do not
Husband? You just popped my balloon.
Bikini coffee shops will always be more popular than a shop with special workers. But. Sensitive people will always focus on the special workers getting more jokes.
I like his Biden routine.
I'm sure the dead, virtue signalling crowd didn't help his nerves (I heard they added some laughter and applause to make those at home think he got a better response). But he still did great, and SNL probably got a lot better ratings than it has in a long time.
Anyone who was offended by this doesn't deserve to have an opinion.
He does trump in one of the sketches
Sadly they didn't allow Shane to do any Trump... From SNL you should check out the spoof insurance commercial he did it was good.
Joan never gets no love.
i was sad when you mentioned your husband

Where is is Daddy?

find the whole episode, he did a trump sketch.
Look up Trump sneakers.
She done that one already. Yesterday I think
Oh no, your one of those "You cant say that" people.
We were wrong about you it seems.
I could be wrong, but it sounded to me like she was saying she was surprised that he was allowed to say it on tv. I think there's a big difference.
Shane is a sellout
