In my understanding, this caused a lot of conflict between the two managers and saint was taken out of the series. Perth has since gotten a new manager and continued the series, but I'm pretty sure he didn't want anyone to replace saint. I want to put emphasis on the fact that the situation is neither of the actor's faults, they both lost a close friend (each other) in that situation. So as of right now there is not a happy ending between ae and pete in the series. Ae is really sad through season two.

Pete went to study abroad and Ae is heartbroken. Basically they aren't together while he's gone so they can live their lives while they're apart. In the book it has a whole ton of stuff happening but here he is trying to live without him for now.
