I love how Ae showed how much he loves Pete by hugging him instead of forcing and abruptly kissing him like most confessions go in other series.

I'm still mesmerized everytime seeing that part cus its so beautiful but painful too at the same time. Same! I stayed for him, even though 1st episode was so-so for me and I don't regret it. I love his acting! The crying scene was great. Pete cried so many times and I wasn't moved at all, but insert Ae and suddenly I'm so invested in every his move.
The thing I love about Ae’s character is that even though he’s coming to terms with his sexuality, once he realizes his feelings for Pete he just goes for it. He never hurts Pete over his own confusion and shows him he wants to be with him & def isn’t shy about wanting to be Pete’s boyfriend. That’s refreshing in a lgbt series for the most part the one who’s struggling with their sexuality is always a jerk. I guess that’s why I like LBC and Ae’s character so much, it’s different. Also love how LBC portrays the flame of a first love, so realistic to what teens feel when falling in love for the very first time.
Ae was truly a breath of fresh air. Dosent care what others think and that he’s challenging his own belief of what he thought he was. Just knows what’s making him happy in that moment and chases it (or Pete in this case
OMG Perth’s acting!!! That devastating disbelieve and shock in his eyes during THAT scene, portrays more than just sadness and is amazing. His facial expression acting is the BEST IVE EVER SCENE, and him being so young just ads to my amazement 😍
He’s only 17, but his acting is phenomenal! He can get really far with his acting and I’m definitely gonna cheer him on✨ Mad respect I have for Perth. His delivery of emotions is beautiful, Saint is really awesome too, his really getting the sympathy, awesome portrayal of emotions! Their chemistry is awesome and one of the reasons I’m so hooked on this series💯
I misinterpreted this the first time around, but I get it now. Pete wasn't saying Ae shouldn't love him because he would be better off with a girl; he doesn't want Ae to suffer the same stigma as he does. He's trying to protect Ae by pushing him straight. Just as well Ae never cares what anybody else thinks.
Me too. I misunderstood pete at first but when he talked with Ae on the field I get him and why he’s trying to push Ae away. He suffered from being bullied since he was a kid just because he’s gay and he doesnt want Ae to suffer the same... i actually cried during that scene cause i felt their real emotions.
Jjkayhelp both managers are in an argument right now and p’new the director didn’t get the rights to make the show from the author of the book. So until they clear up the mess and stop leaving Saint(Pete) out of stuff No season 2.
The way Perth expressed the emotions through his eyes tho. It looks like his real tears. Perth is definitely one of the BEST actors in lbc series. I mean look at his eyes and expressions. It's like his heart is breaking piece by piece from Pete's each word.

Pete has been specifically mentioned as gay. But with Ae... absolutely nothing is mentioned about his sexuality. Even readers keep second guessing. 5:46 this scene gets me everytime. How Ae pulls him in for a hug and not a kiss. They are good friends first and everything is secondary to this feeling. The level of respect portrayed by Ae and Pete for each other make me wonder how Tharntype is even related to this series (but I guess after you get over the absymal first two episodes, Tharn and Type’s relationship does grow splendidly).

People need to acknowledge the fact that Ae is a DEMISEXUAL individual. He has not even shown a remote interest in regular locker room banter, Pond's obsession over porn, etc. In the initial episodes he has been so confused not only with his sexuality BUT WITH THE FEELING OF BEING ATTRACTED TO SOMEONE.
When he says it's not about being a girl or a guy, he just likes Pete, he is not being the stereotypical bl character where they say "I don't like men but I like you" (which I really don't have a problem with tbh).
Ae literally has just felt for Pete only. That exists. Period.
If he only understood so he could communicate this. I'm demisexual btw. Heteroromantic though. At least, I think so.

I've seen LBC getting bashed for precisely this dialogue between them. That Ae is being stereotypical, there are bisexual people as well etc etc. But Khun Mame has weaved magic with AePete. Pete has been specifically mentioned as gay. But with Ae... absolutely nothing is mentioned about his sexuality. Even readers keep second guessing.
Throughout their journey (with a lot of twists and turns in the second book) both of them just keep coming back to this. This is not an isolated incident where they argue on this topic. Pete always thinks that Ae hasn't really explored his sexuality and presses him to try being with girls. Even years after being a solid couple going strong. But Ae keeps retreating back to Pete. He keeps getting surprised by how Pete could push his boundaries sexually and emotionally.
Btw Kudos to you for being self aware. This reply means a lot since you can clearly see I'm way too invested in AePete than what's necessary. 😂
