In RCT1 Deluxe, I believe Emma Garrell didn’t just affect guests, it also affected some of the rides. Why did OpenRCT2 remove content? Sure, it's technically "advertising", but it seems strange for a mod to remove content that was originally IN the game.
It would be interesting if there are any scenario challenges that are only beatable / much easier by using the name Easter Eggs. It would have to be a pretty specific challenge though considering there's more negative bonuses than positive ones.
Welp, I'm at the point in my life where I watch a video I've already seen and scroll down to make a comment, only to see that I already made it two years ago.
It’s not a lot, actually. It’s mostly stuff related to Six Flags, like: - Not being able to modify Six Flags rides - Not being able to save Six Flags rides - Six Flags parks do not report casualty numbers - Six Flags rides cannot get brakes failure - Six Flags branding And there is the removal of the tutorial, because of the way it was implemented: it’s just recorded mouse clicks and movements. This means it had to be rerecorded for every resolution, had to use either 640×480 or 800×600 and couldn’t cope with interface changes. We would like to have one at some point, but it would need a whole new implementation.
Wow I would have never known that RCT2 had a reference to one of few parks I've been at in my entire life. I've been to Knoebels so many times with family and friends it always gets me kinda nostalgic whenever it's mentioned.
What if, in OpenRCT2, they changed Andy Hine to say "but not as good as Mango Muncher" (or some other prebuild) and Elisa White would say "I'm so excited, it's a Giga ride/coaster!" to keep them in while still removing the branding?
not in RCT2, but I remember naming guests in Zoo Tycoon 1 "Mr [color]" would change *everything in the zoo* to that color - mr blue would turn guests' clothing, buildings etc blue, mr green changed all of that to green, and so on the effect was instant across the entire save.

I find Melanie Warn to be the most useful of these. You can add it to multiple guests (or reapply it to the same guest) by changing the capitalization of the letters.
You know this game is old when Jacques Villeneuve, Micheal Schumacher and Damon Hill are the most relevant racing names lol
In RCT1 Deluxe, I believe Emma Garrell didn’t just affect guests, it also affected some of the rides. For example, if she got onto a Looping Roller Coaster, the train cars would change into Suspended Swinging Coaster cars. I don’t know if this happens in RCT2, I just briefly remember it happening once.
You must have misremembered it, then. It doesn’t do that on the original RCT1 either.
@@gymnasiast90 If you tested this, which version did you test it on? The glitch occurred to me in RCT1 Deluxe, which includes the expansions.
I’m sorry if I worded it incorrectly by saying the “original” I meant RCT1 deluxe.
@@benretro On the original CD version with no expansions. But I seriously doubt it will be different on RCT1 Deluxe (my install of that is broken and I can’t be arsed to fix it at this moment). But if you want to test it: I’d love to be surprised.
Wow, a shout-out to the Phoenix roller coaster in a real computer game! That's quite an honor! I've ridden the coaster myself many times, and it really IS a very good one. (The K in Knoebels is pronounced as part of the name, so it sounds like keh-NO-bools.) :)
i had no idea about these they’re great - nice video marcel my man
I had no idea David had his own Easter egg in this game. I love his videos!
Having lived near and been to Knoebels many times, you actually pronounce the K. That's how they say it in the commercials for the park. The best family park in the USA!
So cool that there's a Knoebels reference in RCT 2!
Only a Brit would think Damon Hill is faster than Schumacher
I mean he was faster... that one season in 1996 when Williams had an OP car and Schumacher's first Ferrari was a dog of a car.
@@Fry_tag all karts in Go-Karts 1 are the same :p
I knew about the go karts names but none of the others. Cool video!
Your channel is awesome, thanks for these videos Marcel Vos keep up the great content!
I remember learning "some" of these as a kid. Wow there are so many more!
Your vids are so entertaining and I’ve been watching them for so long and you’re the only UA-cam I watch. Anyway I find these names funny and question who came up with the idea for some of these.
Phoenix is one of the best coasters in the world. It was my first.
iirc Ellisa White is one of the founders of Theme Park Review :)
Just a quick reference to one of the removed guests, the name of the park Kenobles is pronounced as KUH-no-bls which isn't immediately evident, but as someone who lives near it, I thought I should let you know! Haha
And its named that as that's the last name of the family who owns and operates it
I'm shocked I can play a game for nearly 20 years and still be learning brand new information
1:57 I noticed that Felicity Anderson got her happiness increased when making other people vomit.
The cheat Michael Schuhmacher just unlocked some childhood memories of watching my older brothers playing RCT1, so thanks for that!
Wow. After being a fan of the game most of my life I still never knew about this Easter egg. Awesome vid Marcel!
I didn't know a lot of these! Great video as always
Jacques Villeneuve being considered a fast driver really shows when this game came out
I mean, he won the championship. That makes him a faster driver than 99.9999 percent of the planet/average park guests
Imagine if OpenRCT2 adds some new ones based on RCT2 YTs and other popular people.
That would be awesome!
1:52 For some reason I thought there was a vandalism animation and that I was always just too engaged elsewhere to catch it in action lmao
Nope, peeps in RCT are telekinetic.
RCT guests can bend two full-sized lampposts at once, with their minds
@@OntarioTrafficMan It's like they could become full on supervillians if they wanted to, but, nah, they're just going to telekinetically vandalize amusement parks...
Holy cow, this is unbelievably cool. Been playing this game since its release and never new this
Great stuff Marcel! really love your content!
Wow, there are so much more names than I knew about.
0:59 I think it's less him being impressed and more that he did infact take many pictures when he travelled to amusement parks around the world for the game
I have family named McGowan and it is Gow like Madame Gou from Daredevil. Love your channel Marcel, keep itup...
Poor Nancy Stillwagon, cursed to give others ice cream but never to enjoy it herself.
As an F1 fan myself, those guests named after some of the great F1 drivers of the time from the 90's, were definitely my favourite ones!😁😎
Think I mostly knew of the RCT1 guest name 'cheats' from a PC Gamer magazine cheat codes book or such, but seems between those ones carried over to RCT2 and a lot more I hadn't been aware of too, with some pretty interesting overall effects given!😮👍
Microprose grand Prix
Nancy "I guide others to a treasure I cannot possess."
'Hey Felicity how would you like a little nod in our upcoming gameplay of RCT2?'
'Oh? Sounds fun! What's the nod like?'
'Everyone that meets you throws up.'
'...'
You should make a video during the middle of a scenario where you name one guest Emma and see how long it takes for your whole park to turn purple
I love your content, you have been one of my favourite UA-camr and I love just binge watching your videos and I love them and think that RCT is way better than planet coaster or at least more interesting🙂😀
Dude the knobles refrence made me grin. It's such an unknown park, yet one of my favoritres. They are also credited with the only wooden bobsled (flying turns) in the world.
Marcel Vos the Boss
Why did OpenRCT2 remove content? Sure, it's technically "advertising", but it seems strange for a mod to remove content that was originally IN the game.
'Eilidh' is pronounced AY-lee by the way (rhymes with daily, Bailey, Hayley, etc). It's a Scottish Gaelic name!
Love how Marcel listens to suggestions.
I thought I would know all of these but there were loads I'd never heard of! I need to try them out now!
An interesting idea for a video would be one on everything that has been removed from OpenRTC2 and the reasons for removal!
It’s not a lot, actually. It’s mostly stuff related to Six Flags, like:
- Not being able to modify Six Flags rides
- Not being able to save Six Flags rides
- Six Flags parks do not report casualty numbers
- Six Flags rides cannot get brakes failure
- Six Flags branding
And there is the removal of the tutorial, because of the way it was implemented: it’s just recorded mouse clicks and movements. This means it had to be rerecorded for every resolution, had to use either 640×480 or 800×600 and couldn’t cope with interface changes. We would like to have one at some point, but it would need a whole new implementation.
@@gymnasiast90 Oh hello there
Some of these cheats I knew but others I didn't. Thanks for sharing this info.
Wow I would have never known that RCT2 had a reference to one of few parks I've been at in my entire life. I've been to Knoebels so many times with family and friends it always gets me kinda nostalgic whenever it's mentioned.
I had no idea this easter egg thing existed. Amazing.
Holy crap, I had no idea that there was a Knoebel's easter egg in RCT2! Having grown up in Pennsylvania, I've ridden Phoenix.
Never knew that existed
Thank you for explaining
What if, in OpenRCT2, they changed Andy Hine to say "but not as good as Mango Muncher" (or some other prebuild) and Elisa White would say "I'm so excited, it's a Giga ride/coaster!" to keep them in while still removing the branding?
That would have made too much since. So of course not.
@@dmaxsba You say that like the rest of the project is some haphazard mess.
not in RCT2, but I remember naming guests in Zoo Tycoon 1 "Mr [color]" would change *everything in the zoo* to that color - mr blue would turn guests' clothing, buildings etc blue, mr green changed all of that to green, and so on
the effect was instant across the entire save.
Nancy Stillwagon is a lovely enthusiast from New Hampshire. For many years, she sold coaster and park merchandise, both through mail order and at events like Knoebels' Phoenix Phall PhunPhest. She never game me any ice cream!
I know an urban legend from back when i was a kid. If you call guest 1 E=mc2 and guest 2 E=mc3, they will talk to each other and make you an offer to advertise for your park. Never got it to work, but always wondered where it came from. Can you make a video of this if you have any info on it, please? Would love to know more about this!
I do like the effect of these Easter eggs in the game for sure.
One felicity Anderson: dose puke people.
Two of them: stuck in-pucking loop.
