I been struggling to get clients. My FB ads not really popping. My flyer game hasn't worked. I think it's the lack of experience and not having reviews. Next move is to do friends and family for free to get more before and after photos

If you guys watch other channels, you'll hear the same thing over and over. People getting out there and straight hustling on foot, giving 25 dollar washes. Going above and beyond. Doesn't seem smart at first, but developing trust and a name is key. Once you start getting calls quickly double and triple prices to match competition. When you start booking beyond a week, you have two choices, get a second truck and crew, or increase prices. Your clientele will shrink a bit, but it'll work out.
Be patient. And the customers you do get do a 1000%. Word of mouth is the best advertising. Be bless babe
Facebook Ads don't work like they used to. Don't do work for free. Do work at a discounted price (for friends/family) take good pics/video and post on your social media pages, FB page, and Google. Post consistently.

I’m looking into getting into detailing at 26 now (wish I thought of it earlier) but my main goal of course is to work for myself and make a comfortable living doing things I love and that’s the great thing about life, you can do so many things that you love and turn it into a profession if that passion is there! I get discouraged sometimes too thinking that the market is flooded with detailers, but the good thing about you (yourself) is no one else can be you I don’t want y’all to quit at all! @@Smelyn invest into your advertising it’s worth it. On vista print you can spend 200 and get 1000 door hangers and 1000 business cards. Put them EVERYWHERE, get a nice logo. If you get 2 clients from that out of 2,000 flyers (very much an underestimate) you’ve profited. Keep advertising bro, remember it’s winter, advertise well and keep advertising over the next year and you willl grow. Be patient and go all in brotger

Starting any business is not for the weak. You have to think like a owner first. Not a detailer, you’re in this to build an empire. In any business- it takes money to make money. I invest a lot into ads- in return I’m booked out the entire month making $10k+ a month. You gotta figure out how to market yourself and capitalize on it. Hunter runs google ads and has a social media presence. Most of his work comes from google tho so he’s always busy. You gotta build up your name and with time your business will start to grow . Get at it bro!
In my opinion, take high quality before / afters and focus heavily on READY, ABLE, BUYERS. No Facebook, instagram, next door app. None of that. Focus on google because that’s where most people are going to in your area that want a detail. Once you established a business presence, reviews, website- the business page will speak for itself and you’ll notice your business will start to build a lot of tractions within regards to lead generation.

One good advice I can give to new up and coming detailers is do not under cut each other. We all here trying to make a living detailing cars and undercutting each other is not helping out situation. So if your confidant with your work price it right and comparative.

Starting a business is simple as said. You need to make a decision first of which business you can manage no matter the circumstances. Aside from the money you need to start up something, just start no matter how little. You’ll get there.

Been watching your videos when you first started I was getting my detailing business going. I did my research I read detailing books and engine detailing books already had prices set up I did family and few people that saw my work from my mom's driveway and everything just started flowing ended up getting my detailing certificate....right now vehicle is down so looking for ways to have people gravitate to my business marketing is everything

I don’t even have clients, a website, business cards, a business name, a business license or anything like that. I’ve outfitted my garage to be a detailing shop. What I need most of all first is practice. I need to detail a few cars to see if I can do it as a business before starting one. What advice would you give me for someone who just needs practice first? I’ve already detailed my last 2 cars and my mom’s car. Every time I ask other family members or friends they’ll say they’ll let me know. I don’t even have an idea on pricing. How do I go about offering my services without a business but just for practice? How did you manage your clients when first starting out without getting overwhelmed? Did you hire a helper at first? Winter time in LA is not like Winter in other places. Where I live in WA state winters have a lot of snow and cold. I would think that the detailing business slows to a crawl in the winter in my market. Not sure how to overcome that. Maybe heated water?

I have been in detailing for 16 years and have had a passion for it and love being around cars. I’m starting up my own detailing business from scratch and I have a few clients where I’m at. I’ve been shopping around for prices and what detailers charge for their details and what’s all involved in that detail and my biggest fear is charging to high and scaring away potential clients and charging to low to where I sink. What’s your thoughts being a beginner at running my own business but having the experience I do in detailing? Thanks Hunter
Well what would you consider over charging? One thing I’ve learned is charge by job, not by hour and I haven’t even really started yet, still doing friends and family first before I invest in a whole setup to be mobile. But I just did my friends dads work truck (who also I work for time to time) and charged $520 for a full polish on the whole truck, metal restoration, plastic restoration, and UV protective sealant that lasts about 4-5 months. Basically I did the whole exterior truck (bed wheels everything) except the interior, and it took about 14 hours or so since I took different days, but I pocketed about 25 hour which is nothing for pros but it’s a friend and I’m new so it’s different, but for a client I could have easily charged 800 for that work. So I would say the small jobs like a exterior/interior cleaning have a base price to value your time, and maybe for bigger stuff like polishing that takes a full day, break it down by the hour to gauge how much you should charge because you need to be competitive too. I personally think pocketing 40 an hour is good for polishing/buffing, so a 7-8 hour buff job on a sedan plus product cost would be around 500 or 750 if they want ceramic coating too which is pretty competitive in my opinion. It also depends where you live, here in SoCal everyone makes but spends more. But at the end of the day if you are skilled in what you do you should be pocketing at least an average 30-50 hour I’d say and for a simple job that takes an hour-2 charge a flat rate like 80-120 whatever is relative to the job.
