- In June 1984, Steven Spielberg spoke to ITN about his his newest film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. He discussed his reasons for making a sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark, as well as his plans to adapt Thomas Keneally's Holocaust novel, Schindler's Ark, for the big screen.
Spielberg, who has been nominated for academy awards 22 times, is up for three awards at this year's Oscars for his film The Fabelmans, a semi-autobiographical film based loosely on Spielberg's early life.

Nine years later Schindlers List came out. I didn't know this film was on his mind so long.
That books was written in the 1960s. Everyone to Polanski to Scorsese wanted to make it. In the end left to speilberg
interesting how he said in a couple years, so it wouldve came out in 1986, and competed with platoon
Wonder if he ever adapted that Holocaust book or directed the third film in that trilogy. So many directors just dream about projects
His Temple of Doom movie is why we have PG-13 movies now. It has that scene where they eat live monkey brains & another where a guy pulls a beating heart from a chest. It broke the rating system, the public demanding a new rating that is in between PG & R so as to better protect young children & guide parents
i thought it was for Raider's of the lost ark, and it was the face melting scene
@@ssdazed6229There were a lot of straws that assisted the breaking of the camel’s back, but it was Temple of Doom that finally did it. After it, PG-13 was created.
Live monkey brains? Why do I remember them being served chilled on silver plates/platters or something like that. I do recall a scene where a big snake is cut with little live eels or snakes coming out of it though. 🤢
@@missmew5240 It’s been a lot of years, but I remembered them all around a table, with monkeys in restraints, the top of their skulls removed, so they’re treated like bowls, them spooning out raw brains. Pretty traumatic stuff.
