I have a 8kg Miele which is 12 years old and is fantastic!it came with a 10 year parts and labour guarantee and after 8 years the rubber seal started leaking I called Miele and they came the next day and replaced the gasket and the engineer told me, via his computer that the machine had done over 5,000 washes. It’s still going strong and is so quiet even at 1600 spin! I would highly recommend this brand. Being old fashioned, I like to boil wash my whites at 95 with a prewash, using bio powder. Very few modern machines offer this now and whatever manufacturers say, there is no substitute for clean washing that’s been boiled
I am on my second Miele in 37 years The first one I had for 25 years and it was still working but I wanted a larger capacity when I refurbished my kitchen. I gave the old machine to my friend who got another 6 years out of it
@@kirri2003 my Auntie had one of the first mieles in the uk in 1965 a W421 that went for 33 years. It was built like a tank. My last one lasted 7 years! It used to slip across the floor and sounded like machine guns when spinning 😂😂
Load size in the UK is misleading, there should be a regulation to stop manufacturers lying to customers: for instance, a Bosch/Siemens 8 kg washing machine has a 65ltr drum, and a Bosch 9 Kg washing machine has a 65ltr drum, Bosch are not alone in this; LG machines use the same LTR drum for machines from 10 thru to 12 KG loads . Manufacturers should state drum size in LTR’s and done with it, then at least customers would not be mislead thinking by buying a 12KG they will get more load in than a 10KG, when most of the time they have the same size drum.
1. Capacity / load (8-9 kg) 2. Spin speed (around 1400 rpm) 3. Noise level of the machine 4. Energy rating 5. Dimension of the machine 6. Quick washes & eco washes option 7. Auto dosing 8. Different program on the machine 9. Smart connection 10. Warranty of the machine
I have a Hotpoint NSWM 864CGGUKN in Graphite 8kg 1600 Spin I only had it last July last year and I have had no problems with it and I always use the Eco 40 60 because it’s Energy Effieient and the washing comes out nearly dry because it’s a 1600Rpm Spin they say my hotpoint is 81Db but even when it is at 16000Rpm it is still really Quiet I barely know it’s on even when it’s washing however I do like the washing machine but I am going to get a Shed for my garden so I can put my hotpoint washing machine in the shed in the back garden and I am replacing my hotpoint with a Beko WTL84141W which you have already reviewed 😊
Hi Andrew I did have a hotpoint NSWM864CGGUKN 8kg 1600 Spin in Graphite however it only lasted 7 months until it started leaking however I didn’t have the tools to repair it however I had to buy a Brand New Washing Machine and I now have a Bush 8kg 1400rpm model Wmsab814ew that I brought from Argos and it costed me £295 and it’s a brilliant washing machine and it’s a 2023 model build Quality is very cheap but is is still very strong however I did fix my hotpoint NSWM864CGGUKN and now it’s in the shed in the back garden so it’s a win win so now I have two Washing machines
Thanks for this. I have a hoover which the fabric softener compartment doesnt not work as the water seems to be blocked. Would you have suggestions. I have tried cleaning it with inter-teeth brush but still not great. Love to take it apart but this difficult. Do i need to buy a new machine for this reason. The machine motor etc works fine
This can be a common complaint if people are using pods in the soap drawer. The gel casing can block up the pipes at the back. I would recommend trying to remove the soap drawer and clean at the back of the internals before looking at changing the machine as hopefully this will cure the issue.
My parents had a Bosch wae24369 gv machine for a 10 years, it died on Monday and they just got a new series 4 wan28250 today with a brushless motor. It seems much quieter than the old one.
Hi, I'm looking at buying my first washing machine. I was thinking of the Bosch series 6 9kg, but I fear I've deep dived into the very strong opinions on washing machines and saw all the horror stories. Is this a good machine?😅
I'm buying a washing machine please help as I'm so confused. I want a quiet washing machine. Energy saving, 9 kg, good for allergies, quick wash, what can you recommend. Please recommend a few!
Miele are very quiet.. literally see the washing tumbling with no noise. When it’s draining you hear the pump but it’s not loud and spinning, even at 1600rpm is very quiet
One thing you missed out is repairability. Particularly the scourge of sealed tubs.

I agree that you the temperature to get the clothes clean, low temperature washes don't have the same effect.
Miele used to be brilliant. My last one wasn’t good at all. Maybe I was unlucky. Glad yours is serving you well.

I have a 9kg Bosch. The motor is silent when washing. The pump and spin are exceptionally quiet.
