Hey sir! Vehar here Pleased to meet you finally and I’ve forgotten to give you your lure back yesterday, hopefully get to see you out there again soon after xmas in return Enjoy your Xmas break, loving the videos!
Hey Vehar, yeah it was good to meet up with you as well and I appreciate the great feedback too. You keep the lure, I have plenty. I will be back out there at some stage and will see you soon. Have a great Xmas as well.
We where up at Macintosh 2 weeks ago and we where getting hit after hit and ended up with 10 after like 20 mins. What size lure you use and do you use mono or braid.
Yes most definitely I'm using 20 to 40g lures on braid with mono as well still learning this fresh water and river buzz only use to bait fishing but spinning is addictive got the bud now.
Thanks for the reply! I'm only over here for a few more days and wouldn't mind another fish at the mouth (likely tomorrow). Would the rain this afternoon affect fishing tomorrow morning in your opinion? Not familiar with the flows in your rivers after rain. Thanks again and thanks for the great content!
@@JohnMathey-j6k Hey, thanks for the great comment. There has been a bit of rain in the Alps on Monday and that has discoloured the river and moved the flows up a bit. The river fishes best below 80 cumecs. As I write this the waimak is flowing at 102 cumecs. Local rain doesn't typically affect the river unless there is pronged periods of rain. Are you spinning or bait fishing?
@canterburyfishingadventures great info! I come over every few years to visit my partners family so it's so handy to learn about optimal conditions from a local. I'll be spinning. Wanted to try out some micro jigs for something different than the hex wobblers/gillies pilchards I normally use.
Awesome fishing mate 👍
Thanks for the comment.
Keep'em coming mate. Love the mak when it's going off.

What LB line are you using on this video.?? Mono or Braid.?? How much does your lure weigh??

Yeah it's fun when the Kahawai are on the chew. I use either a 22gm or 28gm metal ticer. I am running braid with a mono leader.

@@danielbaumber3926 good to hear, yep spinning certainly is addictive
Hey bro what rod and reel do you use needing to upgrade ahah
Hey, it's a Shimano Backbone Spin, 8ft and a 2pc, 6-8kg. Cheers
What’s the reel????
@@jontehanson-zi8ib it's a Penn Spinfisher VI 4500
Cheers mate
Seems like the outgoing/low tide is the best when fishing the mouth. Have you ever fished the in-coming tide with any success there?
The incoming tide at the mouth is no where near as productive as the outgoing tide. Generally the bite disappears 1.5hrs after low on the incoming.
