I'm guessing Euro 5 is the reason we lost power and hopefully it is just a restriction and not too expensive to remedy. (any info on this?) The LED light not being included though ? Come on Honda !
I'm sure I read that part of the Euro 5 requirement is the inability to circumvent the rules, with a fine for the manufacturer if such is made possible. If true then it might at least rid us of the noisy exhaust problem.
@@otablott7779 I can't now find the article I read about tampering, but the bike has to be self monitoring to ensure compliance with the regulations through the expected life of the vehicle, though I gather that the requirement for monitoring of the catalytic converter has been pushed back. Hey TMF, were you able to confirm whether it has LED turn signals? Some photos of the bike show it with the same LED's that come on the 450L, but other photos show the big bulb type signals.
The 2017 rally had led turn signals. I was mystified why the pictures had reverted to the old style indicators. I doubt they would have anthying but led lights and indicators. The 2019 cbx came with the led indicators also.
How do you think they would be on the street where I will do most of my riding? Are they really too slow or too buzzy if I need to get up to 50-65 mph sometimes? I am in the US and unable to test ride in my city. Wondering if I should get a bike with a bigger engine? I like the idea of a nimble lighter weight bike. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
What's the story with the indicators... MCN are showing both bikes together with LEDs but the individual pics show non-LEDs, like in the pics you've shown MissendenFlyer...😕 - see here - www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2021-honda-crf300l-and-crf300l-rally/ - strange.

What else they coulda done? Put a 450 in it. Why does no one make a modern 450 or 500 dual sport? I wanna quickly pass cars at 60-65 mph and kick it offroad. 145kg. Ultimate dual sport. Is that really so much to ask for?
The slip assist clutch is my favorite upgrade that they made on the CRF300L but for the worst part is the welded rear subframe, that’s a step backwards for me.

You memtioned a slimmer seat on the CRF300L, yet a wider one on the Rally. On my 2017. CRF250L I find the seat a bit too narrow and firm, but I suppose comfort is individual.. Think they will both be a success. especially as the price has risen little over the 250. models. Keep up the good work. Andy P
That's a pity, now we have to pay yearly taxes for it. Here in Belgium, bikes up to 250cc are exempt of road taxes. (Though a one time admission tax is still applicable, nothing comes free)
My next bike, but what model to choose? I like the fairings of the Rally version, but I would still have to replace the skid plate and the windscreen... Also both models might need a bigger tank.
If Honda's fuel consumption figures are to be believed @ 32.3 km/L (90 mpg, imperial) ( www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/range/adventure/crf300-rally/specifications.html ) the Rally would already have a tank range of around 250 miles.

@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks 🙏
My old 250 was fine sitting at 60mph....this one can only be better!
haha! Loving the outtakes at the end - very unexpected.
Great video!
Thanks!
Great vid as usual. Random question, what are those helmet hooks in the ceiling, they look great!
Just garage hooks from ebay
Sort of weird how we dont get the nice led headlight
What's the story with the indicators... MCN are showing both bikes together with LEDs but the individual pics show non-LEDs, like in the pics you've shown MissendenFlyer...😕 - see here - www.motorcyclenews.com/news/new-bikes/2021-honda-crf300l-and-crf300l-rally/ - strange.
Would the FMF Q4 fit the new 300L ?
No idea I'm afraid....my guess is yes
@@TheMissendenFlyer thank you for your respond. Lets hope it does
Hi Andy, did you suggest that you no longer have the CRF 250 ? If so why, was under the impression that you thought it a great bike?
Yes I sold it a month or so back - great bike but I needed the space in the garage, I've had it for 6 years and have exhausted all the local off road routes....so time to let someone else enjoy it who maybe has the time to ride it!...
A secondary balancer shaft would have been greatly appreciated.
No upgrades to the suspension? Thats nuts!
What else they coulda done? Put a 450 in it. Why does no one make a modern 450 or 500 dual sport? I wanna quickly pass cars at 60-65 mph and kick it offroad. 145kg. Ultimate dual sport. Is that really so much to ask for?
Does the specified weights include liquids. Oil and fuel that might explain the weight difference between the two models?
Yes it's ready to ride weights...."kerb weight"
The slip assist clutch is my favorite upgrade that they made on the CRF300L but for the worst part is the welded rear subframe, that’s a step backwards for me.
Hello TMF, don´t understand about the front headligth in ur photo infos because they aren´t Led like the 300 L in Thailand Or the 250 L model 2021 in Japan. The other thing its about the horsepower doesn´t match with the Thai model, any idea.? Thank you TMF
None I'm afraid.....
How would this compare with the Ktm 390 adventure. Is the power difference huge in real terms. And how do they compare off-road
Not hugely different I wouldn't think.....
Honda not bad,,looks like a lot of plastic extra bits on the rally , odd questionwhat do the hooks you have on garage ceiling for your helmets look like,, where did you get them..
E-Bay and they look like big hooks....
@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks like you am looking for place to keep ever expanding helmet collection just looked amazon big storage hooks found some plastic coated jobbies that may do, catch you later in week
So you guys don't get the 450l headlight?
Looks like they are using up the last of there old stock of headlights on us.
Nevermind I'm sure they will sell us the new LED units for £300 as well as the full power kit for another £700 ! 😡
@@LONDON501 hopefully in Australia it would be different but I doubt it, still looks good and can easily swap the headlight I suppose
The Husqvarna 250 MX 2019 has traction control. As far as i,m aware. There are 3 modes. The modes are acatived on the left hand and the bike has Marzocchi forks which are standard . So you can give the bike full throttle on the start line bang out the clutch and away. The 2021 150 KTM MX are looking at a really trick gear box . That will wait. Cheers
What have you replaced your crf250 with Andy
Nothing....yet.
@@TheMissendenFlyer I’m surprised that you’ve actually let one of your bikes go 🤣
I may get a Rally in 2023 as my last new bike. Dont really need the power anymore.
Why not!
I’m holding out for the new WR!! 323CC
Is that your guess or is that legit 😮
@@slakk5093 even if it is legit, if this is GBP 4999, that one will be like GBP 9999
The 300l on your pictures is different to what i have seen. I have seen it with a 450l style light and led blinkers? What's the deal there? Is this europe spec?
Could be - I'm going with the info Suzuki UK provided me with so may well be the case...
@@TheMissendenFlyer Suzuki UK?
@@making_randoms Honda UK even!!! That's what happens when you get to my age.....marbles being lost by the day!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Very well do I know the feeling...
The 450L style Led headlight will have to be bought after market at buyers cost
Good video. Good information. Looks nice. A bit better in every way... love the outtakes! 😂 Somehow I missed you selling your CRF 250 L! What happened? I’m sure you will tell us at some point
Yes I sold it a month or so back - great bike but I needed the space in the garage, I've had it for 6 years and have exhausted all the local off road routes....so time to let someone else enjoy it who maybe has the time to ride it!...
Was waiting for 300 rally but now prefer to L and it's cheaper and less plastic to break. I am sure there will be a larger tank available in the future from IMS. Just need to convince myself to buy one!
Where is your RE Interceptor? Haven't seen it in the garage for a while....👀
Just seen the live stream.....be good to see what you've had done to it 👍🏽
Going to be a month or two yet so hopefully worth the wait!
Love the end B roll 👍
I am a fan of the looks of the Rally, but still have concerns over the weight. Now I need to check my budget..... :D
How many helmets do you have, looks like shop!!
Hi can see three comments about the one pice frame completely been brush over . That could be a a big piece tag if u bent it as in tha old crf why change it if it works well for mantaince & cost . Yes great tech good improvements but we all need to know about the hole bike not just about the nice shiney plastics .
Yes good point - thanks for highlighting....
@@TheMissendenFlyer thank you I know u are a fan of the crf still a good bike tho .
And Kawasaki came out with the KLX300, and Yamaha discontinued the WR250R with no replacement announced yet. Hope they make a WR300R! These are all cool dual sports. I think I'd go for the KLX300.
Never been a fan of the Rally but being a 250L owner and toured in Thailand with a 250M. The 300L certainly hits the spot.
Interesting the 300L is 4 grand in Thailand, even more of a bargain!!! Cheers
Yes ..... we get to pay £1000 more and get reduced power and no led headlight. Thanks Honda.
I like the look of rally much better it looks more advanced and purposeful
You memtioned a slimmer seat on the CRF300L, yet a wider one on the Rally.
On my 2017. CRF250L I find the seat a bit too narrow and firm, but I suppose comfort is individual..
Think they will both be a success. especially as the price has risen little over the 250. models.
Keep up the good work.
Andy P
You sold your 250L? Why?
How many hp have the 300L ? 27 hp ?
It's all in the video if you watch it....
Nice vid. Very cool smaller bike. I bet you could have slot of fun on this.
Agreed....
That's a pity, now we have to pay yearly taxes for it. Here in Belgium, bikes up to 250cc are exempt of road taxes. (Though a one time admission tax is still applicable, nothing comes free)
So what one you getting then.
The rally looks like it has goggles on. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes like steampunk ones...just needs a top hat....
My next bike, but what model to choose? I like the fairings of the Rally version, but I would still have to replace the skid plate and the windscreen... Also both models might need a bigger tank.
If Honda's fuel consumption figures are to be believed @ 32.3 km/L (90 mpg, imperial)
the Rally would already have a tank range of around 250 miles.
Perhaps the Rally was beefed up to compete better with the Kawa Versys 300x?
As always - you cut straight to the important stuff. It's the Rally for me.
I must have missed this, but did you just say you no longer have your CRF250?
Was this in preparation of the 300 coming...🤔
It sounds a bargain Andy but would we be able to get our feet on the deck ? I’m 5’7”, I know your’e 5’8”
Yes I suspect the suspension will compress a lot plus that seat is narrow - I had no issue on the old CRF250L
