I live in northern Ontario and have seen over a dozen lynx in my life in the wild, they are actually very curious majestic animals. Very cool and sometimes can be very very curious and come out to see you for a moment.
Yeah from what I can tell Lynx would be a way better pet than a bobcat, Bobcats seem super hyper and not affectionate but Lynx are super chill and friendly.

It's humans that caused so many pets to go feral by dumping them and other irresponsible activity. (cats. dogs.) Humans that have overpopulated and created a need for deforestation, reducing their habitats. And now we have videos going "They're cute, I want one!" as reasons to tamper with their numbers even more. Or worse. Use them as a cash cow. "Here's this adorable animal, lets profit off of it, keep it in a small cage and pretend it's getting great care like it would in the wild for money!" And no one stops to consider the wild population as it begins to dwindle. The deforestation. Why animals in captivity, even in some zoos, don't fare well. Sure they medical care, groomed, fed. But lifespans sometimes are shortened. Cage too small. Muscle loss. Not enough room to build up a full out run. Other health issues slowly begin to emerge after that. And we have the nerve to call it humane.. Best zoos in the world stop keeping dolphins. They die in captivity. Our local zoo admitted it. Stop doing it. They stopped keeping polar bears. Same reasons. They don't do well in captivity. Don't get me started on Orcas. Those documentaries are all over the place. As for large cats, one of my favorite animals, humans should leave them alone. And their habitats alone. They do better without us.
My cat headbutts me to say hello all the time. She jumps up on the table next to my computer where I work and leans way forward on the edge and chirp meows until I lean in to acknowledge her presence and then she gives a really happy headbutt while she purrs and rubs her cheeks against your face. It is so cute! She sometimes prefers this to petting even... just rubbing faces. I just adore all cats! The Egyptians knew what was up from day one.
I am exactly the same, I love cats better than most people. I would love to get to touch a big cat-although I would still be afraid!, wonder if I could see her if I travel there?
As a kid we had a German Shepherd/ Wolf Hybrid that loved Cats.... one day he ran away and came back with a kitten that we found out later was a bobcat
My Dog Mary adopted a Calico kitten she discovered almost frozen, Her eyes were still closed, she was so brand new !To our amazement she actually began to lactate, Do you know she suckled that kitten till she was ready for solid food, Ain't Love Grand? Bless you
Wow, she knows how to be social, that's just awesome. Cats seem to have such intrinsic bonds with humans that doesn't involve training, just spontaneous acceptance. That's a super bridge to the wild world we get to enjoy without being forced.

yeah, it bothers me to watch non-cat people dealing with cats. did you hear how loud he was talking right by her ears (along with everything else)? you have to be ultra sensitive and intuitive. it's probably not even the best move to approach a cat, straight up (though we all do it). i like to play a little game with them, where i try to make the cat want to come around me. I just give off a beneficent, buddy-buddy, non threatening, i'm-just-chilling-with-you type energy and leave the cat alone. soon enough, they usually want attention. i like to challenge them regarding who can be more enchanting and alluring to each other. lol. (much of the time, they win tho)
Was really frustrating to watch him flinch away from those headbumps. I would have been the happiest man in the world if a big cat headbumped me. I'm owned by 3 cats currently. My 4th master passed away in February

Man, I love these and bobcats. They remind me of wolverines, in that they have an obscene amount of power packed into that relatively small body. Just beautiful.
She acts just like our little tabby cat in that she likes to chill out, and be affectionate, and get showered with loving attention, but also likes to play-fight, and get a little rowdy sometimes. She's sooooo beautiful.

Yep.After watching enough documentaries, you might find big cats only differ physiologically from domestic cats, while their behaviours are much the same.
The only difference is scale. If your toe biting purr muffin grew to the size of an adult lion over night, it would be just as dangerous as a well trained "domesticated" big cat... or just as safe, depending on which camp you're in.

Roy Horn's white tiger bit his arm off by accident because she saw him as one of her cubs and picked him up by the shoulder to carry him to the food dish, she was trying to take care of him. Even he admitted that it wasn't vicious, that giant cat was trying to help him and didn't know her own strength.
I liked the comment about head butting. I once had a big black cat named Katey. She adopted us as an older cat. She truly bonded with me. Whenever I was home and out in the yard both her and our other cat, Thomas, would follow me wherever I went. If I got under a truck she would lay down next to me for tummy scratches. She would purr very loudly and moan.and groan the whole time. Meanwhile the other cat would lay on my chest and stare at me and purr. When I was walking back to my house she would run ahead of me then run up the steps to the porch and stick her head through the fence rail pickets so I could butt heads with her. She would stand there pushing head to head as long as I would purring and cooing like a happy baby. I miss all of my little friends. Thanks for reading this, Bob

Wow! Amazing how calm this lynx is around people. I have seen domestic cats get more testy around humans trying to pet them than this lynx. I have a domestic short hair cat who looks like part lynx, with both grey and black tiger stripes and leopard like spots. He overall has the look and physique of an Egyptian Mau but also some lynx. He has large back feet like this lynx and also is a very quick runner. He is older now and does not run around anymore, but when he was younger he ran around my backyard alot, chasing lizards. Cats are fascinating animals! :)
The lynx is one of my top favorite three cats ever with the other two being the tiger and the cheetah number one. But this one is just beautiful and so much fun to watch!❤️
Fur coats exist for thousands of years. Just do not abuse mother nature. Otherwise you eat plastic and wear plastic. Do not eat grass! It belongs to cows and rabbits. Thats how you want it?
Not sure how bad lynx fur would be but if in doubt you can research just in case. I think the problem isn't fur itself but how modern fur animals are treated, living in small empty cages all their life where they show obvious signs of not thriving. Of course its also bad if wild endangered animals are hunted for their fur. I don't wear any fur (unless you count wool), but it may not be so bad if its done in a more ethical way than the ones I mentioned. One fur type I possibly could wear is reindeer, I already eat those at times and they are living their life outdoors. And I don't think it is 100% cruelty free, but no meat or hardly any product at all is. Vegan companies can still treat their workers bad (for example) and do kill mice and insects on the fields. Its about whats relatively better that also lets you have a good life and health

I lived in Lockport Illinois as a small boy ended up living in Countryside Illinois before moving to California. Beautiful Lynx ❤️

I tried on a Lynx coat back in the day. It was so beautiful and soft. My conscience wouldn't allow me to purchase it. It should be against the law.

Fur coats exist for thousands of years. Just do not abuse mother nature. Otherwise you eat plastic and wear plastic. Do not eat grass! It belongs to cows and rabbits. Thats how you want it?
Not sure how bad lynx fur would be but if in doubt you can research just in case. I think the problem isn't fur itself but how modern fur animals are treated, living in small empty cages all their life where they show obvious signs of not thriving. Of course its also bad if wild endangered animals are hunted for their fur. I don't wear any fur (unless you count wool), but it may not be so bad if its done in a more ethical way than the ones I mentioned. One fur type I possibly could wear is reindeer, I already eat those at times and they are living their life outdoors.
And I don't think it is 100% cruelty free, but no meat or hardly any product at all is. Vegan companies can still treat their workers bad (for example) and do kill mice and insects on the fields. Its about whats relatively better that also lets you have a good life and health
