Terrific analysis Ryan. Actually amazing if you take the opportunity to try these grips , how you find you are NOT using the grip you thought you were , and some of the alternative actually feel very comfortable.

Great explanation, thanks. In the match, I sometimes struggle to quickly find the one-handed grip correctly, ending with a partial continental grip. How can I improve the rotation consistency when also moving on the court? Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought it looked familiar. I just bought the Ultra V3, and I really enjoy it.

Could you do a video on all the 2 handed backhand grip variations. Specifically basehand (BH) bevel 1- tophand (TH) bevel 3, BH 1.5-TH 3, BH 1-TH 4, BH 1.5-TH 4, BH 2-TH 4, and BH perpendicular grip versus shakehand grip (fingers 90 degrees to handle versus fingers going up the handle with a trigger finger).

With you on this -- will try the volley grips. Now, if you really want to start a row, talk about grip size!

I was taught to put the "V" of your handon the various points on the handle which I find easier to explain to people than the knuckle etc...

Glad you found a way that works for you Steve! 👍

SAME, Steve. When I started watching tennis videos, I became confused about this. When I get back to the tennis courts, I'll try this method of base knuckle of index/heel pad and see how it feels. I imagine I might now have a stiffer grip on the racquet but we'll see.

Like anything. Practice. If I offered $10 million to learn it you’d learn it in about 20 minutes. It’s all about motivation and practice. Thanks!!!

Hi. I struggle with grip change and have been looking at something else. What do you think about using the same grip (or minimally adjusting) for both the forehand and one-handed backhand, hitting with the same side of the racket? (If unclear, I found a video that explains it here: ua-cam.com/video/626Ln9iKPqs/v-deo.html). Thanks for your help!
