Ahh thanks a lot for your comment, I checked the specifications on both the instruments on fender.com and the only different would be the maple neck. Would the maple make a difference? Thanks a lot for the information :)
I don`t own a Squier CV bass so I can`t confirm if there are any significant differences between them. I do own 2 Squier Matt Freeman, the one on the video and another vintage white with black pickguard (w SPB3 P`ups). The Matt Freeman`s are made of Basswood, maple fretboard and the stock pickups are Seymour Duncan Design, not bad but not enough for what I like soundwise. I currently own a Warmoth Custom Fenderbird, Epiphone EB03 modded and a Yamaha BB424X..the Squiers hold their ground nicely
Well, maple fretboards will get you a more bright sound, sharp, on the other hand the rosewood fingerboard will give you a more warm and punchy sound. Of course the strings will play a key element on the sound but in general that would be a very simplistic way of putting it. Check out the Warmoth homepage...go to the bass neck building application and there you will find a lot of cool info regarding woods and they different tones....cheers
Here is a video where I`m playing the Squier MF with the stock pickups..it was recorded with an Iphone I think...but the sound is surprisingly good...perhaps you get a better notion of these instruments...even the strings are stock at that moment....
thanks Jon...just playing random stuff....check out my band 2 TON YAKAMA in reverbnation...we have a free song for download....that`s if you don`t mind listening some trash metal in spanish of course.....cheers!!!
Thanks, it sure does...I beef it up with the Aguilar ToneHammer Preamp pedal...and I tell you...that is a marriage made in Hell!!!...later add a little Octaver (I use the MXR bass octave deluxe)....and you get a yourself a weapon
That's like, instant Gene Simmons live sound!
This is awesome!
Cool bass riffs man. Keep it up
Thanks a lot for your help :)
Thank you so much!!! I`ll sure keep `em riffs heavy!!!

Is the Matt Freeman bass like the CV precision bass but a different color and maple fretboard? Or are there some changes?
