The Devi Ever Hyperion is a great experience for fuzz pedal lovers. Coined the Big Muff Killer, the Hyperion brings the world of silicon fuzz to a standstill with many different tones on tap and sustain that lasts longer than a class action lawsuit. The Devi Ever Hyperion is simple, there is a control for Volume and a control for, well Control. The Volume knob provides a lot of output, I mean a LOT of output. Come on, fuzz was never mean to be quiet. If its too loud, play jazz. The Control knob adjusts the intensity of the fuzz but also adjusts the character of the tone as well. The Devi Ever Hyperion is true bypass, runs on batteries, and is built from high quality components. What more could you need in a fuzz pedal?
Devi Ever Hyperion
From thumpy sludge to zippery zing, the Devi Ever Hyperion covers a lot of ground. When the Control knob is backed off, the fuzz tone is mellow and smooth but still holds a lot of grind. As the Control knob is increased, so is the fuzz amount and brilliance. The more it is increased, the more your pick attack has to say about the tone of the fuzz. Light picking yields warm fuzzy goodness while hitting hard will drive the pedal into zippery, smashing down walls type of fuzz. Back off the volume on your guitar for classic Muff, crank it for madness, your choice. The Devi Ever Hyperion also features built in gating that is perfectly matched to the pedal. It will sustain for days but when you stop the strings, it gets quiet. If youve been looking for a low gain fuzz, forget it. The Devi Ever Hyperion is not for the weak of heart or ear. It is for the fuzz aficionado, the person that truly appreciates destroying something beautiful.
Devi Ever Hyperion Features:
o True Bypass
o -9vdc or Battery Operation
o Boutique Quality Components
o Simple, Easy to Use, Sounds INCREDIBLE
I love it how Andy always sticks some heavy prog rock riffs in his videos.
Christ, this has to be the heaviest fuzz I've heard in a good long time.
Sold!
I might buy this for the electric wizard intro
Some of the best fuzz I've heard all year.
That thing sounds perfect for that "Dopesmoker" tone. Great vid
Electric Wizard! Fuck yes. Do you still carry these?
Oh sweet, you guys have to do more Devi Ever pedals. I can't wait to see what Andy can do with the Shoegazer.
dude you do the best demos, and now that you did that electric wizard riff at the beginning, you rule, and that's all there is to it
love the king crimson!
awesome sound, i want
thats the first devi pedal that ive heard that i didnt hate!
I love Devi Ever
King Crimson! My Man!
electric wizard and crimson? andy does it again... damn i want to start a band with this guy. half the reason i watch these is to see what badass stuff he's gonna play.
Devi Ever make some great pedals, if you are into the style they make. And yes! King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid man. I love Robert Fripp's Tone.
I tried the Hyperion with my WSL AZ Rickenbacker clone, and it's very fun, they are still enough bass; but the sound squeaks great !
@therealbigdrewbowski I just ordered one. Can't wait!
Yeah i own one. I have to try a big muff.
The reason it doesn't compare is because it take a lot of the low end out as common with most fuzz pedals. Other than the big muff.
This pedal can be used with bass too. Which can make up for some lost low ends.
Wow you seriously played Electric Wizard................. Im a even bigger fan now!
dont know how i found this video. dont know where it came from. but once i discovered this pedal, I took me a week to make enough money just to buy it. Win.
Funny, I wonder if this will offer the Fripp like sustain? Oh, he's playing King Crimson!
yo andy/proguitar shop, you should put a list of all the songs you play in the video so people can check out any riff they don't recognize
sweet brah
I'm sure it could be pulled off. But if you want oscillation the Disaster Fuzz is a better fit.
@eatthemoon13 I've played it in Three different tbe amps, and it sucks low end a tiny bit from my mesa rectoverb.... but then agian... most fuzz pedals do. My rivera s120 and my vox nighttrain were perfect with this pedal. My solution with the rectoverb was to turn the bass up on the amp (as it has more than enough).
3:35 King Crimson Hell Yeah!
this will be a lethal weapon with B standard tuning. I have started to collect money for it!
@summinrandom
Oh....I just realized it was the one with this especially more badass cover.
is there a current model devi ever has out? I know sometimes they rename pedals to keep interest up
When can we expect to see a Shoegazer demo?
Is PGS still a Devi Dealer? Love this thing.
I'm trying to find something to complement a Big Muff (Tone Wicker model) well. Which of these two-knob Devi's could do the job?
Playing some early Nirvana too. Nice.
Would this fuzz cut through the live mix with two guitars?
Huh, I really like this compared to the rest of Devi Ever's stuff; for some reason I can't get into it. But this one actually sounds pretty good, and usable. Very woolly, if that makes sense.
I believe they demo'd one in the past but I suppose an updated video wouldn't hurt.
Sounds like Corrosion of Conformity in a box....all you need is Pepper Keenan singing along with it and you have a band right there! Nice...I hate fuzz because it does not feel good on the fingers...this one feels good through my monitor...that says alot!
want want want
Do you guys have this pedal with the new graphic?
Does anyone know what the first song Andy plays is?
@PrsFenderJackson1980 i have emg81/60 on my jackson and am looking for a solid distortion aswell. i heard that the ibanez ts9 is the way to go, but i have yet to try 1
Is there any difference between this and the Soda Meiser?
sounds nothing like mine with the control all the way up.
ilikeminebetter:) it kind of explodes. like in devi's video. its an awesome pedal. you can get 8 bit sounds by turning the volume almost all the way down.
You want the Hyperion 2. Does everything this does, with an extra knob for exactly such things.
@PrsFenderJackson1980 im looking for that also. as i have a boss metal zone but it is a bit too noisy(cant really make out much) i heard the ibanez ts9 is the way to go for that. but i hav yet to try 1 for myself
first part of the intro riff reminded me of Mars Volta's the whip hand riff HAHHAHAHAH But this review was made before
andy plays so much bleach era nirvana... respect
through the Les Paul it sounds way better. perfect for Sludge, Doom, etc.
Nice Nirvana. =]
Oh my frigin god.. I really don't know what to get.. This.. the Deep Trip Kryptonite or the Big Muff...
What is the first song (from 0:00 to 0:50) ?
wouldn't be a distortion demo without nirvana ;)
it sounds like a classic BC108 silicon fuzz
Yeah, Schizoid Man. Awesome. Nice sounding pedal. Me want. I've got a Nick Nitro, which is quite cool. But the simplicity of this looks nice, and sounds like it can handle chords quite well, which is unusual for a fuzz based pedal...?
@maximpatrich Dude you can't be serious. UA-cam compresses the sound so much that you never hear the all the dynamics. You should never make a decision based on youtube.
It's Funeralopolis by Electric Wizard
@elpiuvros
Funeralopolis by the mighty Electric Wizard, brah
get the album Dopethrone
ok , i want the fucking soundtrack of andy's demos xD
what's the song at 4:55 ?
You sell it yet?
FUCK YEAH ELECTRIC WIZARD!!!!
2:47 Helmet???
@corked7mute how much
ELECTRIC WIZARD FUCK YEEEAAHH!!!
Yea, order now all the a pro guitar shop pedal demos hits
KING CRIMSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ELECTRIC WIZAAARD KOOL
How can I not buy this pedal after hearing him bust out 21st Century Schizoid Man?
@pieman419 check out the aenima... devi is the bomb
@PrsFenderJackson1980 try a bunch of pedals out and find out what sounds best for you and your style of music (except BOSS od/d/f pedals, avoid at all cost. also If you want a death metal sound buy a dan electro FAB metal so you dont waste money on a pedal thats going to make the same sort of sound anyway), having active pickups doesnt limit you to one kind of od/d/f sounding good.
FUCK YEAH ELECTRIC WIZARD
@eatthemoon13 yesssssssssssssss. at least with my amp/guitar combo. it doesnt like my amp i dont think :(
bring me back my alcohol!!!!
id say the fulltone ocd is a very solid drive too.
@elpiuvros funeralopolis by Electric Wizard, one of my favorites
Devi evers the shiiiiiiiiiiit!
AW Tight he played scoff by nirvana.
I can't believe how many people recognize '21'st Century Schizoid Man' by King Crimson, which surely beats the hell outta most of the 'grungy' crap I hear in so many pedal demos. Good on ya Andy.
@saraband0 no it didn't lol
this makes my wana burn my big muff XD
TS-9s are excellent pedals for Blues and Classic Rock. They have a nice, light-medium gain that adds warm, rich distortion, especially to humbuckers. However, if Metal or other heavy music is your goal, the TS-9 probably won't be able to get you there. You'll need more gain and ideally, a way to scoop your mids.
I got a Hyperion and single coil guitars, sucks. Idk about the soda meiser. Check out her Supermassive blackhole too. I haven't tried my Hyperion with humbuckers yet though. The pedal just sucks a lot of low end sound off, in other words, it comes out all trebble no bass. Great for lead, bad for rhythm.
Nirvana SCOFF!!!
This got discontinued.... NOOOOOO
Active pickups and Fuzz don't mix man.. At least not high impedance input type fuzzes like Fuzz Faces.
This one metal producer (he did Trivium, don't know his name) said he uses a TS set pretty much clean as a sort of buffer into a dirty amp for more chugging power. Think of it, the TS freq range is PERFECT for cutting through the mix!
Tis based on teh muff mr. attackman see ya on ILF ;)
funeralopolis!
wow, 21st century schizoid man. i like.
21st Century Schizoid Man. \m/
SCOFF
so this is a fuzz pedal, on a lead channel?
it doesn't sound as impressive as the description.
I'm going to buy this so i'll eat it.
uh, sorry...i've tried it, and you can't.
This pl0x.
lol
...
Not really
EW
nickbara, dude... It's a clone of a Big Muff, You honestly can't tell the difference between a fuzz face and a big muff? fail
another fuzz face clone...
