Update: had to remove the songs from the testing portion of the vid at the end. Looks like the artists I used were underground for years, now they got big and have media companies managing their claims.
Any 8ohm rated satellites will work just make sure they aren't too big otherwise they will require more power than the z-2300 can output.

These are the specs, so comparable speakers with same specs will work, main thing is the Ohms and power rating.
I paid $100 on sale at futureshop.ca (which doesn't exist anymore, converted to bestbuy), don't pay more than that for these.

Logitech z2300 2.1 Satellite Speaker Replacement fix mod
You could also just use standard speaker wire and solder an RCA connector on one end. Great replacements for these are the Klipsch Promedia satellite speakers or Klipsch Quintet series satellite speakers. The Z-2300 and Z-2200 to this day are among the best sub 300.00 2.1 speaker sets you can get for PC. The weakness, particularly on the Z-2300 is the lack of high frequency due to the single full range driver. Adding a 2-way satellite can improve upon this one weakness and make the set even better.
how do you go about doing this?
For anyone still looking to do this mod I replaced both my Satellites with 2 Satellites from a set of Logitech X-530's(a 5.1 system) and it is working just great. Sound is even a tad cleaner on some tracks but all in all a good replacement. I picked up the x-530's for less than 50 bucks.
The Z2300 and Z5300 both use the same drivers. The Dayton Audio CE Series CE65W-8 2-1/2" Shielded Extended Range 8 Ohm Drivers are excellent replacements and only around $6 a piece online at Parts Express. Sounds great.
Do you mean this Dayton are perfect to fit original logitech z2300 satelites speakers?
Hi, I have just bought the very same Dayton speakers as they were all I could find in 8 ohm as my z2300 satelites have run their course and the cones have split. Did you find the screw holes matched up inside the original logitech satelite chassis so its was a simple matter of just unsoldering the old speaker and screwing the new ones in and resoldering them on. Did you find the sound was comparable to the original speakers that came with the system? Any help appreciated,. Like you I made sure I went with as close to the specs of the orignals so as to impedance match etc. Thanks
@@Hotdogger808 The only thing I did was tin snip a little off the corners of the new speakers to fit the enclosures. Screw holes were fine. Sound was comparable to OEM drivers. Very little difference.

People were asking about the power rating. I would say to not exceed 6 ohms and 50 watt handling per satellite speaker replacement.

I just did this MOD using your video. Bought the same speakers from Future Shop on Sale for 99.99 from original price of $250. Sounds way better then the Originals in terms of quality and the clearness of the treble. Better then me buying Z-2300 spare parts from craigslist or a whole new Z-2300 from craigslist just for the Satellites. Was going to order other compatible Logitech satellites off of E-Bay but who knows how old and used those would be or when those satellites would die. The quality of these sound like they can handle and last longer then the Original Satellites. Thanks for the Video my friend! Been looking for a fix Forever!

Do you still use these? Does changing sats add a power brick you have to plug in or do the sats get their power elsewhere? Sorry I'm a total noob at this lol. Very informative video, it's what I'd been looking for all day!

Showing up to the party late. I am about to replace my broken Z-2300 satellite. Couldn't I just buy some 8ohm bookshelf speakers and a speaker to RCA converter and plug those into the subwoofer? Thank you for making this video BTW.
Yes there is different options you can use to connect the new bookshelf's. I meant to add another part to the vid where u could just use rca to speaker cable. That will work too.

they sound clearer with, I'm guessing it's because of the dedicated tweeter.
would you rather pick the z2300 or the z5500.... id choose the z2300 in design.. bit i now own the z5500. I do want to have the z2300 doh..

Hi, If you adjust the or put the bass volume control to zero will it affect the satellite bass too? I think bookshelf speaker also have great bass on them.

Hello, any idea how to fix a non working subwoofer? It just stopped working one day. I replaced the control pod with a new one from eBay and the satellites work but the sub still doesn't. I don't think the sub is getting any power
hmm sorry, I never had problems with the sub, u might have to take it apart to see whats wrong
I took it apart, tested the sub on another power source and it works. Any idea what to test on the main board considering the satellites and control pod still work through the sub? Thanks for the reply

I am looking to upgrade my satellites of z2300....i HAVE been through soo many blogs and videos....but you made it seem so easy to replace them.... but my question is (if we get into hardcore technical stuff)..... Will it affect my subwoofer in any way??/ like current or power supplied to the new satellites via amp...etc...?...like I just wanna get new bookshelves to get a better range ...thats it!!...
nope doesn't affect it at all, just make sure the bookshelves are 8ohm rated, and similar specs to the one i posted. Don't pay too much either and u will be fine.

combo187 then.....how they works???passive crossover is like a slitter sound....this subwoofer amp has one crossover inside....if had crossover inside the woofer the monitors dont works good....because the crossovers hit each other.....

The Ohms and dBs seem to match pretty well but will the weight (6.8lbs/3.2kg) make them hard to drive for the z-2300 amp?
Johnny Åkermalm Hi thanks for watching. Those should work, but I don't think you will be able to turn the volume up to full blast before clipping occurs. So just keep that in mind.

Hi yeah they are working perfect, still going strong. Just have to be sure not to crank it full blast otherwise you can blow them. The z2300's are really powerful.
Great. Can subwoofer from z2300 still produce lots of bass when you can not turn it at highest volume? I read somewhere that lower frequencies are worse when using bookshelves
