Can someone please explain the nature behind such a wild looking guitar? (the yellow one) Is it a bass? Is it some kind of prototype? Is it a yellow hovercraft? What’s the deal?
The story goes that Elwood and Billy came across the instrument and Billy bought it as a joke. It is apparently a Chinese knock off copy, and plays like crap. It is completely impossible to play. The story goes they only use the guitar for this song then resume normal transmissions.
Apparently there was a bit of a stink kicked up between ZZ and Rob Scallon, who apparently invented it but never got credit; it was just a quick beef that got squashed early on.
Guess you figured out I don't like crowds or people touching me or in my bubble vibes matter in my circle very distant love don't trust many in elbow room situation only
Frank should consider maybe opening his eyes at some point during the songs; a little audience engagement might be nice? Or just slumber along bored out of his mind?
@@ScumBagInFL I will testify that every member plays their instruments and they play for millions of people I been watching every show for years. Try again these guys rock that's why their in hall of fame thank you
@DeadMikeConcertVideos I love ZZ Top, but they actually Billy has been lip syncing most of the Eliminator material for decades. It started with "Legs" and now I'm pretty sure it's half the songs in the set. I only just learnt they were, but once you hear it, you can't unhear it
If I paid a couple hundred bucks to watch these guys, I would expect the drummer to at least open his eyes and stay awake. Frank is so oblivious and obviously so NOT into being there, it's absurd he still makes it behind the drum kit. Retire Frank before Billy and the real fans fire you....
Wild man

@@DeadMikeConcertVideos LOL
Yea they're clearly using backing tracks. I Hate that just give it up if you can't play it live

Obvious lip synching to a backing track. Streaming lag? That's a laugh. Why doesn't it happen the entire song then, genius?
i will give you his lips don't seem to move that much at times... but that would really be a blow to his reputation.
Dude is like 80 years old Lmfao cut him some slack

ZZ Top is transitioning from "cool" into "cartoonish"....And Billy stops singing (or even moving his lips) towards the end of the vocals. Sad...
Still cooler than you
Golly, you don't know how those words hurt! @@sn7wd
The bass player is singing the chorus too.
They’re old let them have their fun
