  • I've spent too long on this review. But its finally here!
    I make my own Handheld console with nothing more than Some bits from ebay and Aliexpress.
    Up front and center is the @Alldocube Iplay 50 Mini Pro, and that's backed up with the BSP D8 expandable controller. That just leaves the stand from ebay made by Techgear and finally a 256gb Micro SD card from Integral. I also fitted a Lebara SIM card with 10gb of data... but I don't test that in this video. Perhaps I'll do a follow up in a later video.
    Anyone interested in ES-DE front end can find more at their website here! / membership
    =================================================================
    Since publishing this video I've had Alldocube reach out to me and they've asked nicely if I'd put in some links to their products on Amazon. So here they are!
    DE: www.amazon.de/dp/B0CG31J44J
    FR: www.amazon.fr/dp/B0CG31J44J
    ES: www.amazon.es/dp/B0CG31J44J
    IT: www.amazon.it/dp/B0CG31J44J
    These are not affiliated links, so I don't directly benefit from you using them, but they are a handy shortcut way to purchase if you don't want to go down the Aliexpress route.
    Who knows maybe Alldocube will send me a product or two to review in future! Wonder if they'll branch into handheld consoles like many other laptop/tablet makers. 😎

      Aw thanks for that. I think because it's not a super powerful Lenovo it's kinda been passed over, and yet the processor in this is getting popular for mid range handhelds.

    Great video mate! I have the same tablet and use it for the same purposes. Nice to see that the D8 works well too. This tablet is a great bargain if you get it at a good price.

    Nice video! I have 3 of these tablets (NFE version of course) around the house. All to be an alternative interface to operate our smart home which uses Home Assistant (Fully Kiosk). However one of them I use travel purposes and gaming too. For Xcloud (Xbox Game Pass) I use the XBPLAY app from the Google Store, as it allows for 1080p resolution, where the official Gamepass app is restricted to 720p and it's a blurry mess if I'm honest. I also use Moonlight (via Sunshine on my gaming PC) to remotely play my PC games around the house or away from home. Lastly, I have a bunch of lightweight Android games on it too, such as Baldur's Gate ED, Little Nightmares, Stardew Valley etc and a bunch of Point n Click adventure games (like Broken Sword etc)
    My only big three negatives with these tablets are:
    1. No auto brightness (there's no light sensor)
    2. Speaker is terrible
    3. No double tap to wake (there's lift to wake, but double tap would have been so much better)
    Apart from that, they are awesome, nice screen and very snappy for what I want it for.

    • @handheldgaming4life
      @handheldgaming4life  3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah its not without its faults, the multi-touch isn't great and the the speak is weak. But working round both with a controller and BT earbuds is great. I'm a big supporter of Moonlight from my minisforum HX80G and I too subscribe to the XBPlay being far superior to stock MS app.

      Sure, it's decent little stand. But be warned, once it's stuck in place you won't be removing it in a hurry. 🤣. It comes with a second sticker, not sure how it'll ever come off to be refitted again.

    Currently have the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2019 and use it just for video consumption and reading comics. I've wanted to upgrade to a Full HD Tablet and I think this is it. I've seen the previous version of this tablet for $90 but seeing gameplay on this... I'll be getting the upgrade. Have been looking for an informative video like this. Subscribing to the channel.

      Go for the NFE version as it's better for Netflix. Make sure you get the pro model so it's got the Helio G99 and you'll love the comic book experience.

    how do these snap on controllers deal with different usb-c ports? like iplay50 is on top off-center close to the sides. then theres other phone/tablets that have it on the bottom perfectly centered.

      The controllers I've used are all BT based so don't require to plug into the USB port. Obviously this will mean a little more latency than a physically connected controller but I never had any issues in gameplay (that wasn't just a skill issue).

    I had this tablet for about week before returning. It is almost good with one huge problem. WiFi is terrible. I wanted to use it in gym, but it barely holds connection! And most of the time where I can use my phone to watch streaming video, I cannot use this tablet. Checking speed, it shows 1Mbps when my phone connects (an remains stable) at 100Mbps .
    Unless they fix WiFi in most cases it will be bad choice.

    • @handheldgaming4life
      @handheldgaming4life  2 місяці тому

      I'll give it a test on comics only see how long say 10% takes to use up. I've generally used it very mixed when it comes to reading, gaming, surfing. But I feel like the G99 sips power and I don't usually need the screen at full brightness. I'll report back.
