No, the super 8 is “based on a vintage poly synth” and they’re probably referring to a Roland Juno 6… this super 6 is loosely based off the same early juno synths, but is a new Interpretation of it that’s not DCO based hardware
@@SkeleMusic well if you look at the GUI of the plugin, it lots awfully similar to this hardware. Even the font used on the name of the synth is the same.
NI Super 8 and the SUPER 6 may share superficial aspects as well as some core DNA stemming from the Roland Juno and Jupiter series... but it's really not at all any competition if you were to compare the two. They will share some of the same sweet spots when going for 80s pads in a general sense, as a starting point. If you want 80s cheese please just use the NI plug in and have fun. It's so good and is Native Instruments first VST3 plug in. The SUPER 6 is a modern classic that has features not found anywhere else, as well as a new and nifty hybrid setup using analog filter with FPGA oscillator implementation, so it's literally more close to analog in many ways, and will sound as such. it's just so good. a true modern flagship that doesn't rely on old designs but builds upon them. one of the greats to be for sure
