- This is a short video about how I make Eurorack Power cables for my cases.
You can find all of my designs on my GitHub:

Some modules that I have designed myself are available in my Tindie shop:

Thank you for watching!

That's a lot easier than I was expecting, thanks for sharing!
You're welcome!
Nice explanation! You don't have to have a vise! I crimp mine with a water pump plier, adjustable wrench thingie, you just have to be careful to apply the pressure evenly.
That works fine too, if you are careful and as you say apply the pressure evenly.
I also like to make my own cables but I make them custom fit for my case, often less than 10cm. As long as you can reach all the connections; the shorter the better.
Yeah, that's one of the benefits with DIYing your own cables - you get them exactly as you want them.
Any chance you could provide links to the parts required? Thanks for the great videos. Just binged all of yours in a few days :)
Thanks a lot - glad you like them!
These IDC connectors are pretty common, here's an example of a 10-pin receptacle from Amphenol:

The problem is how to cut the ribbon cable good, the German Knipex has a special cutter for it, but it's not cheap.
That"s true. 3M has that to and they also have a crimpng tool. Both expensive.
@@MeeBilt 3M? thanx, need to check that out.
I wish I was patient enough for the vice method. I’m just using water pump pliers. 😅
That works fine too. I make batches of cables so I think its worth the effort to use a vice.
What gauge is the wire?
It's 28AWG
Wow beautiful wise, looks like manual car's level handle 😅
Haha... I didn't see that until now when you mentioned it 😄
